Competitive MCAT score for USMD as an international student

Hi everyone,

I’m understand that as an international student, the chances to get into a med school in the US is very low but was wondering if there are international students who were accepted into US med programs who are willing to share their stats and the university they were accepted into. I currently maintained a 3.98 gpa but my mcat score (517) is far below the average (usually 520-522) of most schools that genuinely accept international students.

Are braces supposed to hurt this much?

Hello, I just got my braces yesterday morning and today they still hurt a lot. The pain is located in the teeth and not the gums. It’s to the point where I can barely rest my teeth on each other from the pain. It's hard to describe it but it's as if the teeth are really sensitive. Also can’t eat anything other than soup or smoothies. Is this normal? What would help mitigate the pain and what type of floss would you recommend to breach tight gaps?

Are braces supposed to hurt to this point.

Hey guys, I got my braces yesterday morning and today they still hurt a lot. The pain is located in the teeth and not the gums. It’s to the point where I can barely rest my teeth on each other from the pain. Also can’t eat anything other than soup or smoothies. Is this normal? If anyone had a similar experience, what worked with you?

Update: what type of floss would you recommend to breach tight gaps

Canon eos r7 vs eos r6 mark 2

Hi yall, I was just woundering when would an eos r7 vs r6 mark 2 be prefered. For example, for things like neighborhood photography, birds in flight, insects, etc.

I am most likely going to buy a rf 100-400 mm lens but im not 100% set on the body.

within **around** a 1.5k budget, which body would you prefer for my needs. Or is there another camera body you would prefer?

Edit: also what about a sony body, would that be better for the budget and needs?

Tower Defense Game Design Feedback?

Hi yall, I'm making a new medical themed tower defense game. Below is the concept of the map design. Any ideas of features to add to the enemy path (exp: loops, curved lines, or other features). Also any ideas of how to make use of the empty space in between the enemy paths (that map wont really be small). All ideas will be considered and are appreciated. Thanks.

Red path = enemy path

blue circle = what you must defend

blue dots = example tower placements

Best free AI for coding help

Hi,

What do you guys think is the best free coding agent to help with Godot game projects. Codex is extremely expensive and the limits are really small so probably not that.

Lens fog issue

I live in a humid environment so anytime i go outside i have to wait at least 10-20 minutes for the fog to fade off of the camera lens. Any solutions to this issue?

Looking to get a new camera, any suggestions?

Hello,

I'm looking into getting a Canon eos R7 mirrorless camera body only with a canon rf 100–400mm f/5.6–8 is usm. I will mainly be using it for birds in flight, wildlife photography, and insects (bees) in flight. Sometimes I will use it for sport photography. Any suggestions on any add ons I should get like a UV filter or if I should get a different lens/body that falls under a similar price.

How can a third-person tower-defense game's design keep players actively involved during enemy waves?

I’m designing a third-person tower-defense game where the player can move around the battlefield, fight enemies directly, place towers, and protect a central objective.

My main design concern is that one system may make the other feel unnecessary. If towers are too powerful, the player may have little reason to fight. If direct combat is too powerful, tower placement may feel like a secondary feature.

I’m considering mechanics such as:

  • Player-activated tower abilities
  • Enemies that temporarily disable or weaken towers
  • Objectives that force the player to move to different parts of the map
  • Limited resources shared between weapons and defensive structures
  • Enemy types that require either player intervention or specific tower combinations
  • Changing routes or threats during a wave

How would you design the relationship between direct combat and tower placement so that both remain important throughout a wave?

I’m especially interested in systems that create meaningful decisions rather than simply increasing enemy health or quantity.
