partners of people with high demanding wallstreet jobs , how do you do it?

He is literally working from 6am to 8pm some days, He works at a hedge fund. I want to see him and spend time with him but this job is very important for him and he is trying to set himself up for success with this. I am trying to be supportive so he can do well in his job but at the same time there is so much I want to tell him. I know many people here date or are married to professionals with demanding careers, how do you find balance and be supportive?

anyone here that has worked with a mostly Indian tech team while based in the US?

I am new and had to spend many nights up working with these guys. When I informed my manager about all the late nights I have worked with them I get no acknowledgement at all. Is this normal?

Title: How do you ask for impact metrics from your internship project?

Hi everyone,I’m a software engineering intern, and I’m starting to think ahead about updating my resume once my internship wraps up. I know it’s much stronger to include measurable impact (latency improvements, time saved, users affected, cost reductions, etc.) rather than just describing what I built. My question is: how do you actually get those metrics?Do you ask your manager directly?Should you ask your tech lead or product manager instead? Is there usually a dashboard or internal analytics tool you can access? What’s the best way to phrase the question without sounding like you’re only thinking about your resume? For those of you who have interned at larger companies (especially in finance or big tech), how did you figure out the impact of your work? Were you given the metrics, or did you have to ask?

I’d appreciate any advice or examples of how you approached this. Thanks!

I want to come back to this company because it is a good one but my return depends on this horrible team now I am so upset.

try my luck again at Goldman ?

so uh I got referred to GS for two years back to back and low-key ghosted them although I did do a program with them a while ago. I am thinking of trying for engineering for summer analyst for next year. I have experience at JP Morgan this summer as a software engineer intern and wanted to try my luck at GS, I know around 2023-2024 the culture in engineering was pretty strong with really solid people and GS work hard grind hard culture, how is it now?

jobs in trading firms that do not involve software development

currently interning at one of the biggest banks in the country in building software for the market. however, I kind of dislike the work to be completely honest and I do not enjoy the amount of brain dead AI coding my manager keeps asking me to do. I enjoyed the process of speaking to traders and various teams though and understanding what they need and trying to make those processes more seamless. I also used to like product management but almost everyone I have spoken to told me that product is a dying field rn due to AI. What kind of roles can I look for which require a technical background and good problem solving but is not a direct technology job?

I am only there for such a short amount of time and I just took a sick day so I am worried I ruined my chances to come back

should I introduce myself to my MD via teams or email

I am an intern and my MD just got back from traveling abroad. I was planning on introducing myself to him in person but I am wondering if I should ping on teams first and just say hi and mention who I am and that I am so excited to work here and connect with him this summer?is that appropriate?

anyone here on third floor of 270 can answer this question

I am an intern on the trading floor, There is this one person on the floor who wears well interesting outfits. Super revealing and always standing at their standing desk. I have never seen anyone even in the most relaxed companies dress like this, who is this person?

how to network at jp Morgan internship

I am an intern. Monday is my first day at 270 and on the trading floor. I am not a trading intern but an adjacent Strat intern role. My manager said it can be intense. I was really hoping to network and be social during my internship as I have heard that helps. But apparently it is recommended to leave traders and most people alone on that floor during market hours. I also feel like people want to get out of work immediately after market closes so not sure what to do, coffee chats? ask out to lunch? as to drinks after work? I am also really worried of coming off as a creep. Most people on the floor are men and I am a female intern.

can an illegal sublease be enforced?

I signed a 3-month summer sublease because I was supposed to be interning this summer. Unfortunately, I've become seriously ill and am planning to resign from my internship and return home.

I already paid June rent and a security deposit. I'm willing to walk away from that money if necessary. The issue is that I recently learned the person I subleased from was apparently not allowed to sublease the apartment under her lease, and the landlord was never informed.

My plan is to tell her that I need to leave and move out. My question is: if the sublease was unauthorized under her lease, can she still sue me for the remaining rent for July and August? Would a court enforce a sublease agreement if it violated the terms of her lease with the landlord?

I'm not looking for definitive legal advice, just trying to understand how situations like this are generally handled.
