M21 Moving to NYC for work. Budget 2.8k, Manhattan. Sept. 1st

Hello,

I'm moving from NC to NYC Sept. 1st and had a space fall through. Now I need to find another one in-order to be ready for the move. So, I'm looking for someone to apartment search with me and find a 2 bed in Manhattan, Upper Brooklyn, Williamsburg, Sunset Park, or LIC.

I've also attached a few photos of a decor vibe I rock with

A little bit about me:

- M21

- As a person I am generally chill and like to try new things. I like tinkering with electronics and coding so, I plan on setting up a workbench in my room. If you have an old game console or enjoy them I mod them and play them pretty frequently. I've been told I am very kind and welcoming. So, I'm not one to discriminate or judge.

- Hobbies: Soccer, video games, photography. working on projects. listening to music, hiking, exploring, etc.

- Job: Software Engineer working in Fintech

- Finances: 40x rent + good credit

What I am looking for in a roommate:

- Male + 20s

- Clean and respectful of mutual spaces

- Someone who doesn't have negative character traits such as bad hygiene, leaves things on the floor, tracks mud, doesn't clean after themselves, steals or takes things without asking, etc.

- WFH friendly

- Friendly, we don't have to be best friends but we get along

- Non-Smoker (I don't want to have alcohol in the space but if you're not an alcoholic and keep it to your space then fine)

- Someone who is cool with having friends over who respect the space as well. Not looking for a 3rd roommate but don't be shy to have friends over once in a while.

- Conscious of sound. Be yourself just don't be overly loud and obnoxious.

- Someone who is willing to help furnish a place and not just expect a fully furnished place

- No pets outside of smaller things like lizards, snakes, or fish that really just stay in your room. (My cat won't be coming with me unfortunately)

- Finally someone who is not racist, islamophobic, MAGA, or any other general form of dumbass

DM if your interested with a little about yourself and your budget

Duel Links prioritizes meta over fun and this card in particular is broke

As someone who played yugioh as a kid and wanted to use the build he had as a kid I was quickly slapped with reality.

The entirety of low elo is being run by this deck, the blue eyes white dragon deck is tuff but not overly crazy with the right counters and deck.

This though? First turn summon, can be summoned with cards from: your hand, graveyard, deck, computer, job, imagination, and whatever the fuck else. Plus it can destroy any and every monster for free no xyz materials no limit nothing. VCan negate spells and use both effects in the same turn.

It’s like who made this? Who said ooooo let’s take two of the most op builds and combine them to make the godfather of all metas?

Moving on tho “just change your deck” “use meta” use this use that. All it does is limit your ability to have fun now everyone’s memorizing the same deck and same builds to win “duels” in one turn. It’s like it gets to a point.

So my question is what cards can I use that hard counter this card without changing my deck?

How is it living in Chinatown and how do I find any apartments?

Hi all I am moving back to NYC in 7 weeks after living there for only a year back in 2024/2025 for school. I am not Chinese but spent a lot of time there due to my favorite restaurant, soccer games, OS, etc. and it's close to FiDi where I will be working. Overall it's a place I am considering very seriously, though... I can't seem to find any apartment listings LMAO. So, I need so, help and advice if you have it thanks.

P.S. I AM NOT LOOKING FOR AN APARTMENT LISTING OR WHATEVER ELSE IS BANNED. Just a direction lol.

M Looking for a Room or Apartment - Sept. Move-In - Budget ~2k-3k - Studio/1BR (If Apartment)

Ideal Areas

I am looking for an apartment for September move-in between 2-3k in these areas. Ideally in LES/Chinatown, Williamsburg, Midtown Manhattan, or Sunset Park though I am willing to look at anything in the red area. I understand that with my budget this is difficult lol especially looking through this reddit. Though I believe in miracles.

My own apartment would be ideal but having roommates isn't an issue and I would love granted it's a nice spacious apartment. Think 7k a month 3 roommates or something not 2 roomates for 3k and a shoe box. Hosting potential would be nice but not needed.

Oh also, if you're like me and looking for something like this reach out in the comments or DMs and maybe we can apartment hunt together ideally 3 of us would be cool. Then we can look for a space.

I AM NOT LOOKING FOR A FLEX "ROOM" the greatest scam on earth #_#.

If you have a room and or apartment and plan to move out in Sept. before the 10th than please DM with photos of the space and relevant information. A little about me:

- 21M years old on move in currently 20M

- Originally from NC

- Clean, fairly quiet, likes to explore

- 6-FIgure salary so looking to be my own guarantor though will get a third party if the space needs it and is nice enough

- Hybrid working in tech in office minimum 2 days p/week out of FiDi though plan to go as often as possible

- Hobbies: Soccer, Photography, Hobby Tech Projects, VIdeo Games, Reading, and watching Indie Films

- Has never smoked or drunken alcohol doesn't plan on starting

- Pretty social though enjoys home as a safe space

Spammers….truly why are you like this?

I recently started playing and have finally hit gold. I find the process to be rewarding because even though it should be fixed I feel like you can’t climb without bearing people wildly out of your skill range. Though sometimes you need to beat scum of the earth.

In Tin, Bronze, and Silver there were sig spammers but that was at least after they started losing bad or in a “I don’t know how to play the game” way. Which I’m not even mad at.

AS SOON AS I HIT GOLD……. It got so much worse. It’s like people know how to play at least a little bit but choose to spam and it’s not just one bad game but 3/5 so, much so that I’ve reported numerous users for overly spamming.

Sig spamming, playing racing games and just ramming people, cheating on strategy games, or using exploits in sports games. All of these things are technically legal minus the cheating but why? Why do you choose to be a loser?

So, my question to the spammers. Why do you waste time getting on a video game and this is how you decide to play? Why even play the game? I would say go hangout with friends but I doubt you have any that have lives worth living if THIS is how you play. AND EVEN WORSE IF YOU ACTUALLY THINK YOURE GOOD.

20 M - What do my games say about me? 👀 What would you imagine

Console + Mobile (3DS, Phone, or Xbox “Play Anywhere” are main ways to play games. Not a lot of PC games so, very few steam titles.

My Thoughts on The Finals 2 Days In

For context I downloaded this game when it came out and played for maybe an hour before forgetting it existed as well as thinking it died. Now fast forward to season 10 and our story begins! Some of other games I play are Apex and R6 also, here's a picture of my last ranked game which we lost 💔 but shows my avg stats.

https://preview.redd.it/puqn7or0qm0h1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=35eab57c5b86821765bdd4785f52cc82bede6b78

The Finals feels like a love letter to fast paced arena shooters. The gun play and movement is phenomenal. You can buy old battlepasses and theirs no limit to customization while it can be expensive very quick, though if you have a job making idk 20 p/h minimum you'll be fine. Granted the max battle pass is $30 the highest I've ever seen though Apex has a similar model. The strategy and team composition that needs to go into this game is at a level that rewards a good team comp while allowing you to, sometimes at least win games solo que.

>As an advent solo "que-er" I find that a game is only as good as it's solo que lol. That's just casual though. More on this in a bit.

The L, M, H system is one of the best and really rewards either skill going all light or even defense going all heavy + the thousand other combinations. No kit feels the same as a simple change in gear essentially creates a whole new playstyle. Though for all of it's positives I find it hard to play with others who I don't know or don't use a mic, In other words solo queing. Team comp often falls apart and a decent reviving strategy is nearly impossible. Which makes ranking up incredibly difficult if not impossible. I've managed to get to SIlver 4 max in these two days only because I happened to run into two guys with mics and some time on their hands. Similar to Apex and R6 I believe being able to hit platinum at least solo is a good benchmark of if a game can be played solo.

Now these are all minor issues and praises though one MAJOR ISSUE I have with this game is teammates leaving mid game or worse mid ranked cashout. I've had it happened at most 5 games in a row where by the end a teammate would leave and now its impossible to win and I've even been in the finals solo with no teammates! At first I saw the message and assumed they'd be punished progressively. I.e. first time = 10 min ban, second = 30 min and so on like other games. After I was in purgatory with yet again 2 missing teammates I left a game and realized there is no penalty.

The best way I'd see to handle this is to put harsh penalties on leaving ranked games and for those that are F'd over an option to "surrender" and leave the game without a penalty.

In addition the Rank loss especially early on aka below gold, feels harsh though maybe I'm trash. At most I believe you gain around 1200 elo and loses about 500 if you loose meaning two loses = approx. one win let's say you win every 4-5 games that's a very competitive mark. While I do enjoy it I can see it becoming frustrating.

Final thoughts? I'd say its one of my new favorite games. With a 4 star rating I will say that it has a very special formula that feels different while also, being fun. It reminds me of this game I loved arguably my favorite battle royal when it was online. HyperScape (pictured) which oddly feels very similar to this game on a multitude of levels. From the gunplay to the movement even some of the sounds. The actual Cashout gameplay would only work in the Finals and boy does it work. So, unique and a phenomenal mix of brute force gunplay or strategic last second steals. The spawning system too encouraging combat is great. So, all in all can't wait to see more and continue playing.

So, I’ve been hiking casually around different parks for a few years as a day hiker. Usually wearing sneakers and whatever T-Shirt I own.

This year I decided to get into ultralight backpacking. I love the look of cool hiking pants and started looking on IG for pants. Ultimately deciding on the Gonggar Paratrooper Pants (pictured), I saw a few creators talk about them, they look great in my opinion, ads bombarded my feed, and the website is fire I mean as far as brands go kudos.

Now I placed order a week ago and have yet to receive a shipping number or email saying the package has shipped. I assumed before purchase that they would take about two weeks with free shipping.

To make a long story short, I got on Reddit to see what shipping times look like and was met with a wealth of reviews basically saying it’s a cheap Chinese knockoff of the actual brand, Monter or something like that, and all Gongarr does is drop ship.

So, that + negative reviews on quality + no communication + a bullshit refund policy (no monetary refunds can only replace or exchange) = I’m feeling like I made a bad purchase not to mention they cost $140 all in all.

Maybe when they arrive I’ll actually like them and can hike in them but as for now

PSA TO ANYONE LOOKING TO GET INTO BACKPACKING

Do genuine research, look up blogs and what not. Read over the refund policy, etc.

Based off of the bad publicity and the way this whole process feels I won’t be shopping with them ever again unless these are the best pants I’ve ever experienced lol.

-10/10 oh also I messaged them online and no response not even an automatic one. I found an email that handles refunds but it’s not even worth the stress.

If you have any recommendations for good indie brands that’d be greatly appreciated.
