I think about something nobody else does and it's driving me mad
imagine yourself or a loved one being born as a being confined by another species your whole life, suffering confinement, chronic pain, stress, hunger/thirst, mutilation without anesthesia, and repetitive rape. you give birth over and over again for 4 years so the other species can collect your breast milk and steal your babies. then, after a few years, when your body can give no more, this other species (humans) puts you in a chute, prodding you with electric shock, and slits your throat before dumping you on the ground with your neck spewing blood meant for your brain. then after all you went through, after you turned you into his shit and was flushed you down his toilet, he is making fun of vegans that spoke up for you as he mocks you who suffered and was murdered to feed him.
people literally dont even know how anything works, even thinking cows just magically give milk automatically. when i talk to anybody about this i have to be a teacher and a debater which is fucking impossible because how can i educate someone i'm debating who doesn't want to actually learn anything. people i respect and think have a shred of intelligence go to room temperature iq the moment animal industry becomes a topic of discussion it's like debating 1+2=3 with a person who grew up in a cave and can't read, i may as well try to explain particle physics to a particle. i think i need a break from everybody, it's exhausting. i will make vegan food that tastes great and they will nitpick it as if one choice doesn't involve fucking killing somebody. that's all.
I've noticed something I can't stop thinking about.
I will admit, it's fun to create bullshit such as an opera with silly lyrics. But, this whole community seems to be in war mode against real creatives, resenting and their skill, and fighting to be equal to them immediately through arguments often aiming to devalue all they do.
First of all, if you try to make Suno create something actually unique, like me prompting "classical piano piece inspired by Mozart but with out of key melodies that sound disjointed" it just produces a generic piano piece, completely ignoring anything I said except "piano piece".
And then you have the 'prompt engineers' working everyday towards creating something different but it's never truly different in a meaningful way. Then there's the argument that it'll make artists better, but all the potential I see is new artists becoming lazier and never reaching their true creative potential because they let AI fill in the skill gaps.
My impression is that this program is optimized to make you feel like you created something, and I've seen posts where people were disillusioned when they heard something that sounded exactly like their 'unique music' from AI. The defensiveness of people when this is questioned is insane, too. Suno didn't lower the barrier to creating music, it just made another way to consume music that doesn't compare to a decade long journey of actually learning tools to create something that came entirely from you, with no gaps filled in by an algorithm.
If you've achieved something in music in reality and enjoy using Suno or even find it creatively enhancing, that's valid and real, but it's worth thinking about if this friction in production was actually necessary for the speed and quality of shaping each detail in your songs and sonic identity. Think about what it means to reduce that friction with a computer making decisions for you.
something has been bothering me that i can’t stop thinking about.
the main cast is made up of different species. mordecai is a bird. rigby is a raccoon. pops is some kind of lollipop person. skips is a yeti. muscle man is a human. and they all coexist, work together, have relationships, feel emotions, grow as characters.
but somewhere in that world there are animals being raised to be killed and eaten, and nobody ever addresses the line between which animals get personhood and which ones get eaten.
and does mordecai ever think about the chicken wings at the wing kingdom knowing that he is also a bird? what’s happening when speciesism isn’t the reason for indifference?
