Everyone talks about Ethereum, Solana, Base, and Avalanche, but I'm more interested in platforms that don't get nearly as much attention as they probably deserve, and maybe some that are better than what I just mentioned. Mainly wondering what has exceeded your guys expectations this year.
It seems to me that Lacanian symbolic death and the Buddhist concept of Nirvana share similarities but with a important difference in how they treat human desire. From my understanding, symbolic death occurs once you recognize that the Symbolic order is fictional yet practically inescapable. You still function within it and continue to exist around objects of desire but your relationship to them becomes unserious, you no longer look to the Big Other for validation, and do not believe that fulfilling these desires will fill the hole inside you. Desires exist but they are only a recognised consequence of the system. Buddhist Nirvana is the total cessation of desires and destruction of ego by realizing the inherent emptiness of the material world. However, "Nirvana" itself isnt a total void and its just a master signifier giving Buddhists a structured path to follow that exists within the Symbolic Order itself. What is God to a religious person is what Nirvana is to a buddhist. Does this make sense?
Toothpaste without fluoride is not effective because it cannot chemically rebuild teeth or prevent decay. It can only scrub away surface plaque and freshen breath but lacks the ability to remineralize weak spots in the enamel. Fluoride creates a stronger, acid-resistant layer on the teeth and actively slows down cavity-causing bacteria.
I appeared for the KCET this year and got a horrible rank because of my CBSE marks which were low because of incorrect checking due to OSM. I appealed for re-eval of my board exam papers and my marks increased in all 5 subjects. I want my rank to be updated according to my actual marks so I tried calling the KEA helpline and they didn't pick up, I mailed them and the didn't respond. So I visited the KEA office in Bengaluru day before yesterday and the office was filled with students who had the same issue as me, the staff just told me that there's no provision for rank change and all that I can do is write them a letter requesting that a rank change policy is introduced. I wrote the letter and submitted it to them. I wasn't given any written acknowledgement of this letter I submitted so it might as well be conveniently thrown away as soon as I left the office. I've tried mailing the director of higher education of Karnataka and multiple journalists as well hoping that it would put some pressure on the KEA to change our ranks.
I'm 18M and I have been neglecting my health for many years due to personal reasons. While I have other medical issues, my vitamin D deficiency is the one I have neglected the most. Back in 2022, a blood test showed my vitamin D level was critically low at 6.1ng/ml. I took the prescribed supplements for about a month but then stopped. I did not get another blood test until today, and my level is still severely low at 6.2ng/ml.
I experience a lot of symptoms that could be explained by this deficiency. For instance, experiencing pain all over my body has become a normal, everyday occurrence. Physically, I am ~183 cm tall and weigh ~73 kg. While this might look like a healthy weight on paper, I actually have very thin limbs paired with what's almost a pot belly.
My cognitive function and sleep are also severely disrupted. When I am talking to people, I frequently freeze and get mentally lost, I've gained quite the reputation at my school for this. Furthermore, I absolutely cannot sleep at night and have been almost completely nocturnal for a few years. Even when I do manage to sleep, its very irregular, and I have experienced terrifying instances where I jump out of bed while still completely unconscious.

I have neither been diagnosed nor been able to seek diagnosis yet but based on my symptoms and what I've read about EDS, I feel like there's a high chance that I do have it. Could someone please share advice about how do I fix my pen grip which is the possible cause of my horrible handwriting? My writing turns a lot worse when I try to use a "normal" grip. Any help is much appreciated.

I am 18M with high myopia (currently taking low-dose atropine drops) dealing with severe, daily floaters that are much worse in my right eye, where I see opaque shapes. About 3–4 years ago, I had a retinal barrage laser procedure done on this eye, and shortly after, I suffered a head injury, which is exactly when the opaque floaters started. Yesterday, my parents and I traveled to a renowned eye hospital in another city (Sankara Nethralaya in Chennai) where we waited over 11 hours just to see the senior retina specialist for barely 5 minutes. The senior doctor noted some new retinal weak spots and said they do not require immediate lasering, but she "highly recommended" it because I mentioned having flashes. However, my flashes are extremely rare now, I only remember seeing one this entire year and I'm not even sure it was internal, though I used to get them years ago when looking into my extreme peripheral vision. Because the consultation was so rushed, the senior doctor left and a junior doctor took over, panic-inducing my parents by delivering a verdict that I absolutely must get the laser done right now. I have a feeling that the first laser ruined my visual peace with these floaters, and yesterday the doctor completely dismissed any connection between the two. I am now back home and completely unsure of what to do, especially since I am moving out for college next month.

I am registering for counselling at 33.6k in phase 2 and I want to study CSE, its specializations, or IT at the vellore campus. I have accepted that this is only possible in cat5 and I'm scared that I'll do a mistake in filling the preference order since I have no experience. I've put IT above "CSE with Bio" and "CSE with business" because I lack interest in those fields. I put a few chennai ones too incase I don't get vellore. If anybody could confirm my order being okay, I would be really grateful. Thank you so much.
