Is it okay if you move from a place that everyone says is better to a place that everyone says is worse, to be happy?
Like if you decide to move from San Diego to Bakersfield.
Like if you decide to move from San Diego to Bakersfield.
I'm psychologically disturbed and I just want to attend random lectures where no one knows me.
For example, if the lawyer was harmed by a particular corporation, and ten years later, is representing a client in a lawsuit against that corporation.
Would motions be filed to remove this lawyer? Or could he be questioned about his past experiences or potential bias, in front of a jury?
Same with why in the past, people were allowed to be happy despite having a relatively lower amount of experiences (like never leaving the region/country) but now people seem to find it unacceptable for someone to be happy with their life like that?
I want to move to a small town and have an average job (wages would be below average by urban standards)
Isn't it just a different choice in life? Like if instead of getting a college degree and working as a civil engineer, I decide to work as a tour guide instead, and spend as little money as possible and live in the cheapest apartment I can find, while still saving money for retirement, why is that considered irresponsible?
I mean I have an assignment due in 2 hours and didn't manage to complete most of it. There's no reason, I just started it too late. I was supposed to give a presentation. I'm not trying to get any extension or credit, I just don't know what is the right thing to do. I'm a college student.
Like if Cindy pays Bob $50,000 per year if he is in the military?
If someone could tell me what to do and I could ignore everyone else and just follow that, I would be happy.
The world is too confusing, like one person wants you to support communism, another wants you to be financially successful. One wants you to be promiscuous, another wants you to be celibate. One wants you to believe in a religion without questioning it, another wants you to believe that death is the end and there is no god. I don't want to deal with all this.
Like, a lot lower salary than they could have got if they chose a different career.
I am generally willing to live however way I'm "supposed to" do so, because I don't see any "inherent" reason that one set of values is better than another, morally, or as a preference. For example, if the "society around me" says I should be conservative, or liberal, or communist, I would do that. Same with being celibate, or promiscuous. Or pro-tech or anti-tech. (Yes I'm perfectly willing to cut myself off from the internet and computers if people think I should [not people here]) Or whether I should believe in science, empiricism, logic, or religion, tradition, and blind faith. Or whether I should fight against oppression, or become wealthy from systems that oppress others. Or whether I should live an exciting, high energy lifestyle or a boring, mundane one. And so on. The question is only who/what I should follow. I don't have any particular desires, life is just a game to me, and in a game you know what the goal is, and try to accomplish it.
DAE feel this way?
I mean in secondary school / high school too.
