-The W223 facelift (S-Class facelift) that was released this year received a largely redesigned interior, will be avaiable for robotaxi usage in Dubai, and soon after Beijing, is now avaiable as standard with leather instead of plastic in several prominent spaces in the interior, and is the first production vehicle to feature heated seatbelts.

-Although BMW has released sales numbers for some of their sales throughout various countries, they’ve yet disclose their Chinà sales for Q2 2026. They have commuincated though that during April ànd May they saw a 31% decrease in sales in Chinà.

Post World War 1, Benz & Cie ànd Diamler we’re having severe financial troubles due to the negative effects the war had on them.

In 1926 they merged together and established Daimler-Benz Automotive group which is today known as Mercedes-Benz Automotive Group. They also discontinued their individual model lineups they formerly had and agreed to create one model lineup under the nameplate, Mercedes-Benz.

The merger between the two is the longest lasting merger in automotive history, turning 100 years old tommorow.

In the early 1930’s Daimler-Benz saw a revival to being a premier brand, largely due to the sucess of the Mercedes-Benz 500 K ànd the limited production SSK Series that dominated in racing.

The reliability that Mercedes-Benz models showed during the late 1920’s and early 1930’s commuincated to the general public and jouranlists that the merger between Benz and Cie & Daimler was a stellar deicison.

Ferdinand Porsche came to Daimler in 1923 as their CTO, better known as Chief Technical Officer.

He led development for several Mercedes-Benz sports cars including the S Series, SS Series, and the SSK Series.

In 1926 he had begun developmenting a model that would’ve been the W01 but Diamler-Benz’s board axed the W01, altered the design ànd later that year released the W02 instead. The W02 was a car developed for consumers who wanted a midsize vehicle and was the first vehicle by Mercedes-Benz to feature a W in it’s name.

After the 1926 merger of Daimler and Benz & Cie, Ferdinand began having creative differences with Daimler-Benz’s board in regards to Ferdinand wanting development of small, light, agile cars to be prioritized over large, luxurious cars.

Not too long after the W02 debuted, Diamler-Benz debuted the W03 at the Berlin Motor Show, which was a larger more upscale iteration of the W02 that Ferdinand had also led development on.

Tensions rose further beyond creative differences between Daimler-Benz’s board and Ferdinand. The board viewed many of Ferdinand’s wants for the brand, product strategy wise as generally speaking absurd and too pricey.

In late 1928 Ferdinand Porsche decided to resign from Daimler-Benz.

What led to it was a loud disagreement between Ferdinand and Daimler-Benz’s board over development of the Mercedes-Benz Type 8/38. The group were outside à design workshop and Ferdinand ended the conversation by throwing his hat on the floor and resigning.

Ferdinand soon after begin foundation work for his own firm and in 1931 founded Porsche, although the first Porsche model wasn’t released until 1948 with the release of the 356. Which was commonly believed to be a source of design inspiration for the 1952 Mercedes-Benz 300SL.

The 1952 Mercedes-Benz 300SL dominated in races ànd Mercedes-Benz in 1954 followed up with a variant of it for the general public. The 1954 300SL was the fastest car in the world at the time of its release ànd only was dethroned in 1959 by Aston Martin’s DB4 GT.

Due to a lack of nationwide dealerships Diamler-Benz entered the U.S. market in 1957 with aid of Studebaker-Packard Coporation.

In 1958 Daimler-Benz purchased Auto Union (now known as Audi) to expand its production capacity since they lacked a lot of factory space they needed to fulfill demand of their models, ànd to enter the lower priced car market.

Auto Union consisted of the four different German automotive firms; DKW, Audi, Wanderer, and Horch.

In late 1959 Diamler-Benz was getting ready to close out purchasing deal of the automotive firm BMW due to BMW being microscopic steps away from bankruptcy.

The known plan between the two was for Daimler-Benz to use BMW’s Munich factories for Mercedes-Benz models and to effectively discontinue BMW as a brand.

Momentarily before documents would’ve been signed to finalize the buyout, BMW backed out the deal due to realizing that they’d shortly have more income to financially back the brand then they thought they would.

In 1964 Diamler-Benz sold Auto Union to Volkswagen largely due to Auto Union refusing to stop using two stroke engines. Auto Union’s board expressed to Diamler-Benz’s board that it would be regressive to stop using them due to them being what would be widely desired in the short future.

In the early 1960’s European buyers expressed substantial want for four stroke engines and the massive sales failure of the 1964 DKW F102 led to Diamler-Benz selling Auto Union.

Auto Union quickly saw success under Volkswagen largely due to Daimelr-Benz shortly before the sale of Auto Union, sending one of their top engineers to Auto Union, who developed a four stroke engine for Auto Union.

Not too long after Volkswagen consolidated Auto Union into one brand ànd named the brand Audi. The four ring logo Audi models have today is to pay homage to the four brands of Auto Union.

This year on January 29th, Mercedes-Benz Automotive Group celebrated the 140th anniversary of Benz & Cie by debuting the W223 facelift (2027 S-Class) at their museum in Stuttgart.

The W223 received a largely redesigned interior, became avaiable with a flat plane crank V-8, will be avaiable for robotaxi usage in Dubai, and as standard is now avaiable with a lot more leather then it was beforehand instead of plastic.

It’s also the first production vehicle to feature heated seatbelts.

Got them in store on may 22nd ànd was really happy with them although my sunglasses wouldn’t fully shield my face if I wore them with the headphones. Personalized audio was annoying the shit out of me because it would go up and down to high degrees at random times.

I know I could’ve turned it off but for future needs I didn’t want to not have it turned on when I would’ve preferred to. This morning the two biggest issues occurred out of the few that have since I’ve owned them. At one point my crown just stopped being able to adjust the volume. I had set it on my table to see if it would after I put it back on. No cigar, redid that ànd ended up having to put them in my case in order for the crown to work again. Before then, earlier in the day ànd after the volume debacle they would need like four seconds to my phone when I put them on.

Perhaps I never would have had those issues again after today if I kept them but I was already going to have to hooe tbat managemenr at à Apple Store local to me would do me a favor and allow me to return or exchange them for something, so I just ended up deciding to return them. Luckily and not super surprisingly management allowed à return after I just said I couldn’t wear my sunglasses with them ànd was out of the return window.

The reason why it wasn’t very surprising to me is because I did preeent myself well verbally and physically, I bought them from that location and because before at a different Apple store I told the manager about how the AirPods 4 werent fitting my ears well and she approved me for a full refund no questions asked ànd I was a few days out of the return policy then too.

If your having defects with apple tech products ànd wish to do a return or exchange for a different item, dont tell them that it has defects because then theyll just push a 1 year covered warranty replacement onto you.

Like the recently released facelifted GLE53 ànd new GLC53 coupe, the GLC63 facelift is avaiable as a coupe ànd suv.

The newly facelifted GLE63 coupe and suv ànd GLS63 both feature the newly developed flat plane crank V8 by Mercedes-Benz Automotive Group.

Both the GLE63 and GLS63 will reach peak horsepower expectedly at 6100 rpm. The pre facelift iterations of both reached it at 6500.

The newly facelifted GLE63 ànd GLS63 are mild hybrids.

The same V8 will be in the upcoming S63 ànd it will be a mild hybrid, therfore will rely less on hybridization then the current S63 does.
