wtnh.comTurns out this is completely legal in Connecticut
A year ago someone on here asked “how is this legal?” after noticing a sitting CT state senator worked for Eversource while serving.
I looked into CT's ethics rules and the answer is basically: the law was written to allow it.
Went down a rabbit hole on Eversource, PURA, the legislature and how CT defines conflicts of interest. Not surprising but still wild.

Stewart released the following statement regarding the accusations:
“They’re throwing everything they have at me because they know I am the one Republican who can beat Ned Lamont in November. The timing of these attacks is no coincidence — the moment public polling showed Lamont under 50% the Democrat machine, their allies in New Britain City Hall, and our Republican opponents all went into hyperdrive. Here are the facts: expenditures by the Mayor’s Office were budgeted for, submitted, and subject to annual audit during my twelve years delivering results in a deep-blue city, going from a $30 million deficit to a $34 million surplus. Meanwhile, Lamont’s own wealth has exploded while insiders around him cash in on state contracts, but they want voters focused on office makeup and working lunches. And instead of talking about why voters should support him, Ryan Fazio decided to spend Mother’s Day attacking this conservative mother of two with a proven record of fighting for taxpayers. Maybe that’s to distract from his own liberal record of expanding Connecticut’s woke DEI policies and providing taxpayer-financed tuition assistance to illegal immigrants. I’m not afraid of a bare-knuckle political fight — Republicans need a real warrior to win this election in November…and I am that warrior."
