I am in the United States and live in Kansas so that where I will be doing my hunting.

I just finished my hunter safety course today. So now I’m looking for a rifle for next season. That way I can spend time with the rifle at the range.

But I’m tore on .308, or 6.5 larger caliber I have ever shot is .223. Also all my rifles are precision rifles. Can I or should I use a precision rifle? I do know I want to stick with a bolt action.

The local gun store tried to tell me I need a semi as a new hunter for quick follow ups. Is that even a thing?

If you don’t agree with either of those calibers what would you suggest? Also if you do agree what model would you recommend ?

Edit: didn’t notice I left out I will be hunting White Tail Deer with a $3,000 budget to start with.

I’m currently looking for a range around me that holds there competitions. Just kind of wondering what everybody’s experience is with the comps.

So far the closest I have found is almost a 2 hour drive. But still trying to locate clubs closer to me.

How long does it usually take to get notified if you got the bid once the bulletin closes?

Bid came down and I was 3 from the top. Would be my first borrow out. Hopping I get it so I can stay at the borrow out location.

So me and the wife have been almost struggling financially. Our house needed a roof, my car broke down, then her car broke down, then she lost her job, and she is still unemployed. But my job is asking for people to go somewhere else for $300 a day, plus perform, plus our normal wages, on top of what we would earn there.

So it’s $70k on top of what ever I earn but it’s 90 days and I would skip our 17th anniversary vacation that we paid for before all the money trouble nearly drained our savings.

She’s saying I’m an asshole for putting money before our relationship. I tried explaining I can barely afford to miss 2 weeks of work and come back not behind as we are scrapping by.

AITH for putting our financial security above an anniversary and vacation?

I have a 2004 PT cruiser that is overheating on the highway only. So far I have thrown parts at the problem and it has not fixed it.

New water pump, New thermostat, new radiator, new radiator hoses, and a new fan even though the old one was still kicking on.

Yet the problem persists. It does not blow white smoke, the oil looks normal, and the antifreeze color is still orange.

Was wondering if anybody had any ideas on why this car still chooses to overheat. Also it under load only it can be driven all over town no problem, on the highway with no hills without any issues.

But as soon as you start going up hill the temp gauge starts climbing. Once back on flat or down hill the temp gauge goes back to normal. But on undulating highway it will over heat and need to pull over till it cools down. I have not let it get to red just the line between normal and over heating.

I have left a box on my porch the last 2 deliveries and it’s still there. It’s not sealed or anything.

I wrote on it. For my UPS Delivery guy thanks for always putting my heavy ass boxes on the porch.

It’s just a bottle and f Whistle Pig Boss Hog. I checked the camera and he hasn’t even looked in it.

Should I just meet him outside and just hand it to him? Or is there a monetary lint you guys can accept?

They have asked me to teach them English. Granted they are the reason I took a interest in Spanish and have learned enough to get my point across. But how would I teach them English when my Spanish is the equivalent of broken English that you have to think about to understand?

Do I just start them off the way I did with Spanish good morning, my name is, what is your name, etc ? Just wondering if it’s possible and if so a few pointers as to where to start.
