I've only played Quake and Quake 2 back in the 90s. Just picked up the remastered version in order to get the new Dawn of the Machine chapter. Then I saw there's a bunch in between the original and this new one!
Just wondering, for those that have played all of them including the new one, do I need to play them in order for it all to make sense or are these mostly separate as far as story and lore?
