Cheap(er) bike shops in Geneva?
I'd love to get a bike in Geneva and wondering about your favourite bike shops, particularly more affordable ones (second hand?; if those exist)
I've seen a few online and bikes seem so expensive!
Thanks in advance!

Moving to Geneva for a job at UNIGE in 4 days. I have lived in multiple countries and have had to face the transitions and challenges that come with moving to a new place and starting a new life from scratch several times, without knowing anyone. I know the flavours of fear, excitement and uncertainty all too well.
I want to do my best to use those first days to hype myself up and get excited about living in Geneva. I have heard very mixed reports and of course have my doubts and apprehension.
Those of you who have moved to Geneva from outside, what helped you connect to the place and meet people? What helped you fall in love with the city? If you are a postdoc, how did you access that community if your group was French speaking only and did not have many other postdocs?
Thanks for any thoughts and tips!
Hello, I have a general question. I am in Berlin, traveling back to Glasgow on May 16th. I am in the UK on a student visa. I just realised my passport is expiring today (I thought it was today's date 2027 :(). I am trying to get an emergency passport at my home country embassy in Berlin for a temporary passport.
I am wondering if the authorities will approve an emergency passport. I have emailed gov.uk already but wondering if someone else has been in a similar situation.
Thank you!
My current passport expires tomorrow. I am an EU national currently residing in the UK. Tomorrow, I am traveling to Germany, then back to the UK (on a valid student visa) and then off to Switzerland at the end of the month.
I am wondering whether I can make all the trips with just my national ID card and showing my recently expired passport. I literally thought my passport expires in 2027 and only realised it was actually 2026.
Thank you very much!
Field is clinical medicine, based in the UK, viva is in 3 days. I have been pretty sick the last couple of weeks but have still done plenty of revision, have chapter summaries, the annotated physical copy, answers to potential questions, mind maps, etc.
My PI keeps telling me 'be careful not to overprepare'. I am not entirely sure I know what he means by that lol, or what else I could be doing that few days before the viva. I genuinely cannot just stay in bed, drink tea and chill - it's nothing like me.
Those of you who left your vivas feeling overprepared, how did that feel?
