Driving in Roatan Observations

(Full disclosure I’ve only been driving here for 4 weeks and mostly in French Harbour and the East End)

  1. There are no

  2. posted speed limits

  3. Road marking are haphazard or non

  4. existent so you have to guess what lane you should take

  5. Almost everyone is in a hurry and will pass you regardless or area , especially motorcycles

  6. Parking is shopping centers and stores can be a challenge - cars stop blocking traffic

  7. Vehicles tend to stop on the road without any warning to purchase from stands or pulperías

  8. Road construction will test your driving skills and nerves

  9. Pavement starts and ends abruptly

  10. Streets in older parts of the island can be a maze and usually one lane

  11. Good news is that these problems in such a small place

  12. are solvable but it would take a big culture change both from residents and police!

GM Home System

In own a ‘25 Silverado LT EV and was exploring if it’s worth purchasing this or a traditional home backup system. Has anyone purchased and used the home system ? If you did what configuration did you our saw and what has been your experience with the system.

Silverado Infotainment ‘25 LT

I hate to beat this to death- I set up my phone as a Trusted Device- however it was not recognizing it and I was having to manually pair it every time. So today I drove it and it’s recognizing it again..has anyone else experienced this? Maybe there was a software update

Hardware Stores Lancaster

I’ve shopped at Bomberger’s (Ace), Mt Airy (ACE) in Mt Joy and Longenecker’s (True Value). They’re all more expensive than Lowe’s and Home Depot but are closer and more convenient, other than their hours and closed Sunday. Imo Bombergers’s is great for equipment rental and you deal and pay directly at the desk, also their
equipment desk! . Mt Airy for on-line orders (speed and parking)and Longeneckers if i really have to..(sub par sub-par customer service )interested in other cuatomers experiences..
