I've been buying flowers for my girlfriend every week or 2 for a year. I'm finding out how clueless I am.

My local flower shop does good arrangements but they just told me that I should be changing the water every day or 2 🤦🏻‍♂️ I knew to cut the stems and add plant food but now I'm learning about the water changing, recut stems and add more plant food.

Is there anything else I should know to keep the flowers looking their best as long as possible?

Thanks!

Has anyone had a comprehensive test come back negative but still been diagnosed with LDS?

I'm 40 years old and recently had an AFib episode. During my CT echo they noticed aortic root dilation. I always suspected some kind of genetic disorder but have not had health insurance the majority of my life. I have a lot of the signs of LDS (bifid uvula, mitral valve prolapse, aortic issues, was born with club foot, slight scoliosis, slight pectus excavatum)

While I was in the hospital the cardiologist was also suspicious I may have a connective tissue disorder. Sent off a test of 35 genes that are popularly associated with aortic and connective tissue disorders. Came back negative. I'm. Not sure if that's a lot or not enough selection of genes for testing.

I'm worried because the Internet states 37 years old as the average age without medical treatment and I'm 3 years older. Wondering if anyone else has gone through something similar.

▲ 3 r/AFIB

I had an AFib episode the other week and need an ablation soon. I'm scared and it's been on my mind. I wanted to share this dream I had last night of how the ablation procedure went.

I went to the cardiologist in a mall. Like one of those outdoor malls where people walk through the middle surrounded by stores. So I'm at the cardiologist store. They said I needed an ablation and they would only do it while I was awake. I said "is that normal?" Surgeon "yes because I need to see stuff." I said "Oh..will it hurt?" Surgeon: "Of course it's going to hurt". Me: "what stuff do you need to see?" Surgeon: "I need to see when you stop breathing. Are you afraid of extreme pain?" Me: "Actually I am" Then he asked if I had any other fears like extreme pain. I asked what he meant. Then he handed me a pamphlet and he goes " Circle what you're afraid of". It was all obscure stuff like (loss of too many white blood cells, red balls, ants) I was looking for the extreme pain option but It was all random stuff that I wasn't afraid of.

Then they saw my backpack in the OR/cardiologist store. You can't have that in here; it's a sanitized area for surgery! So I'm in the hospital gown and I ask if they want me to run it back to my car. They're like yeah of course. There was a big window that faced out toward the middle of the mall outlets. I asked if all people can see us. Surgeon: "Of course not." Right as he says that my girlfriend walked by and sees me through the window. 🙄 She opened the door to the OR store..so I asked if she could take the bag back to the car for me. Before she left I said "hey they don't want to put me to sleep. Is that normal?" (She works in the anesthesia field) She just stared at me and left with the bag.

Then on the operating table; my car keys kept falling out of my hospital gown pockets They're already really pissed because I got in trouble earlier for the backpack thing. They gave me laughing gas while this one nurse started injecting something into each vein of my toe. Like contrast or some kind of anesthetic or something? It was black so you can see it going through my vein and up towards my heart. Then the surgeon put on rap before he started the procedure and the nurse started rapping. She was like "Do you know what I'd be if I wasn't a nurse? A rapper!" I asked what the hell she was talking about. Then she just looked at me and said "$30 MILLION!" Then they started the procedure and I woke up.

I was wondering if this is actually what it's like or is this just some crazy deam. Thank you.

Had to put my partners 16 year old cat down yesterday.

We started dating about 2 years ago and me and this cat quickly became buds. When I moved in I would sometimes sleep in the guest bedroom so as not to wake my partner and Shadow would come lay on my chest. She was a great cuddler. I'm absolutely destroyed but I have conflicting feelings seeing as my partner has had this cat in her life for 16 years and she's only been in my life for 2. I feel like I should be the strong one. Yet she seems to be handling it better.

What's worse is her young friend is currently fighting for her life in the ICU and this is all happening at once. I feel extremely guilty for being so emotional and sad especially when she's handling everything so well. I don't know what the point of this post is I just thought writing out my feelings my help.

To anyone going through a loss right now.. I know these words don't help but. I'm sorry.

Thoughts on Elements Bloody Mary Elixir?

I'm at the airport and just got my order. I don't know what it is but I hate it. Curious if that's just me personally or how others feel about it. The bright bright red is throwing me off too.
