Does gyro have the potential to be better than mouse and keyboard?

I have messed around with gyro a little bit, and while I am not comfortable with it yet, I feel like I really see the potential, and am a bit confused on why it's still viewed as slightly worse than mouse and keyboard, when it seems it should be on par, and possibly even better in some ways.

One factor I know is a big reason is that mouse and keyboard have just been used more for much longer.

I have been a mouse and keyboard player for a long time, and while it's "comfortable" it still find struggles with it. It's really dependant on posture and table height, friction between the forearm and desk can be a struggle, and getting the right technique for balancing shoulder movement, elbow movement, and wrist movement is tricky.

My aim is pretty bad.

With gyro though, I find those issues get eased. You have more flexibility with posture, there's no friction if you hold in the air, and if resting hand on a desk, friction actually feels helpful and easier to balance. It feels like you are mostly using the same muscles although I'm not quite sure about that.

I think the struggle point I find for controllers is sensitivity. I like the idea of not using stick for aiming at all, but it makes playing at a low sens, which is something beneficial on mice, tricky. You have less range than with a mouse. So I see higher sens preferred generally. I enjoy games like CS and Valorant so this is odd. (ihardscope has made quite a few videos playing these games though and doesn't seem to struggle, and I believe they use 12x-13x sens)

Anyway I don't have much more to add, just curious to hear more on the topic from people more experienced :)

How are these videos made?

Credit: @tunetastic77

I've seen quite a hit of these videos on Instagram and always wondered how they are made, but the few tutorials I've found are A.I voiced and also seems a lot lower quality.

Is this possible?

I want to try learning gyro with some fps games on Roblox, but I don't know how to set that up because there are two issues.

Apparently steam input just doesn't work on roblox, and roblox also detects controllers so it'd conflict.

I have a switch pro controller so I am wondering if theres any way to just essentially have it detects as a m+k so I can use it on any game?

Wouldn't player space be less intuitive?

I have very very limited experience with gyro aim. It's something I have always wanted to get into for the comfort of playing fps games reclined, but get anxious at learning and just end up using my mouse and keyboard.

I recently learned about the different translation methods, and say that player space is generally recommended, but I wanted to ask about it.

From what I understand, what player space essentially does simply is make it so you can rotate the controller around the real world vertical axis, and it adjusts the yaw/roll balance depending on how angled up the controller is.

Wouldn't having a variable control method like this end up being more unintuitive though, as it's constantly changing?

I understand it's not the same thing, but it makes me think of something like mouse acceleration, where something adapts based on specific movements. It seems like it would cause issues compared to having a set 2 axis used, but I would love to hear from people who are actually experienced and comfortable :)

25M Bladder or pelvic floor issues?

Male 25
205lb
5'11"

I wanna start by saying I have gotten a referral to a urologist, I am mainly asking here for some advice during the wait time. I will try to include as much detail as possible.

For my whole life I've always had what I called a "small bladder" but not serious constant urgency. I also have OCD.

I recently decided to try asking my doctor about it as it's something I had never brought up with a doctor. Had an ultrasound and nothing came up

That was a couple months, and my issues seemed to randomly get a bit worse. I had a night where I took some multivitamins (B, C, D, and Magnesium) and my bladder and urethra seemed to get irritated, and since then my bladder seemed a bit more sensitive. I asked my doc about the issue again, I got a urine test this time, and he prescribed me Solifenacin 5mg to try to figure out if it's OAB. I took it for 3 days but then stopped because I got too anxious about the side effects. My issues with my bladder have seemed to then worsen since stopping it, feeling the urge to urinate constantly the past few days now. I am now struggling to fall asleep as it feels like I need to pee as I lay there, even though I just went. I think I stopped taking the medication about 8-10 days ago. I had one more appointment with my doctor explaining I wanted to proceed without medication and getting the urologist referral.

Important additional info now. One thing I have paid attention to is that I squeeze really hard to pee. Because I have had a sensitive bladder my whole life, I always squeeze hard to get the last drops out. I find myself also peeing with this rhythm of pressure, release, pressure, release, pressure, release. If I try to just let pee flow out while sitting down, when it gets to the end amount of pee, it feels like it will flow to the end of my urethra and then stop there, and to get it to fall out I have to sort of flex/suck in.

Sometimes the area of my urethra gets a stinging sensation from the remaining drop of urine sitting there, or at least that's what it feels like.

I also find I have this sensation around my bladder area that is sort of like a tension, but also makes me think of the feeling of when your stomach is hungry, but just on my bladder.

And the weirdest thing I've noticed is a sudden increase in orgasm intensity the past two day, where my bladder issues have been the worst so far.

Currently I am wondering if I have overactive bladder, or if my issues are just years of straining to pee catching up with me, or both.

I don't know if the sudden start and stop of medication has anything to do with it, but it definitely feels like it coincided with the issues spiking.

Any advice is appreciated, and hopefully I hear from the urologist in good time

How to make vertical and horizontal mouse sens equal?

Noticed the vertical and horizontal is different, just wondering what is the actually difference between them. A steam forum said 2x but that's definitely not it, one post said 1.6 which feels decent, but I am wondering if the actual modifier is known?

I don't understand how to actually improve

I have bounced around from drawabox to different tutorials and so on. Currently my approach is that I am filling out a sketchbook where each left page is exercises, and each right page is actually drawings, so I'm doing half practice, half drawing to try and apply practice.

But I don't see any improvement. I just end up doing things the same way every time. Every time I repeat the box grid it looks the same, or worse. Every time I try object rotation exercises, they look the same. Every time I try mannequinization it looks the same.

The overall quality of all my drawings looks the same. I feel like it is physically impossible for me to improve without a teacher looking at my work and guiding me on how to improve.

What is the "best" single exercise?

For a little more context, I am a very inactive person and want to get more exercise in my life (mainly for mental health reasons) but I am also lazy, so I've always wondered if I was to just pick 1 thing to do, what would be the best well rounded exercise?

Currently I am trying to get back to biking for the summer.

How to not get stuck with the same chord progressions?

Been struggling to write chord progressions/harmony and looking for some advice.

I attribute being able to write any good music to theory, but I feel like I am stuck in this beginner level of knowledge that makes it feel limiting. I absolutely don't believe music theory is actually limiting in any way, just that when you only know some of the basics and a little beyond, you can kind of feel stuck because you don't know all the actual options.

Like when I am writing I get stuck because it feels like "there are only 7 options"

While stuff like secondary dominants and modal mixture can also definitely help, I still end up feeling stuck.

It feels like there is a massive gap between what I know, and the music I actually like and listen to. When I find really interesting harmony a lot of the times there are really odd chords, with flat and sharp alterations, added notes, different bass notes, and I don't know how to progress to being able to write like that.

I find that the more interesting things I have written are just from fiddling around randomly with note placement in the piano roll, and a lot of the times I have no idea what they are, either the root note is unclear, or the notes don't seem to fall into a chord shape I can understand.

Apologies that this is a bit aimless, I was not really sure the exact question to ask, and I figured maybe if I just lay out the context of my struggles someone may know how to help me :)

What are some more interesting chords that can be thought of in an easy way?

To elaborate on what I am asking, I was recently watching a video about 13sus4 chords, but the way they explained it is just playing a Maj7th chord on the note a whole step below the root, so like Bbmaj7/C

Ever since watching this my music has become way nicer as this chord can almost be thrown in anywhere and seems to work well.

It got me wondering what other formulas there are for more interesting harmony, because for someone like myself who struggles with chord alterations, it's really hard to apply concepts to actual writing, but something like this is really easy to remember and practically apply.

The idea that the state of the world is the only reason people don't want kids is annoying

Just kind of a pet peeve I've been having lately when I see people pointing to the affordability of living as to why people don't want kids.

Yes it's absolutely a factor, but I feel like it also at the same time sort of downplays the fact that some people just don't want kids. I could be rich and the world could be perfect, I still wouldn't want kids.

Idk, what do y'all think?

How can I crop out a section of a video for certain parts?

I am editing a video but have some parts I need to censor occasionally with the black bar. I am a bit paranoid about accidentally messing up opacity or something and leaving the information retrievable.

I was wondering if there is a way to just cut out the section of the video for the moments it's needed, so that way it's not anything covering it, that segment of the view is actually just removed entirely, temporarily

The REPO dev team is the complete polar opposite of the Phasmophobia dev team

Seeing the REPO cosmetic updates, as well as all previous updates and the update videos, has really put in perspective just how awful Phasmophobias dev team is.

I wish the game was actually run by people who seemingly play it and put out good polished content.

Just wanted to give props to Semiwork for being awesome so at least one game I love has a great dev team.

Mods won't work

I bought the game on Steam and am trying to install a mod, but the mod loader page is empty. When I check the mod folder the dll has been put into a folder just as expected, but the mod doesn't show in game.

I was recently watching a video talking about adding upper extensions to dominant chords, and it was broken down into a simplified formula of "the 3 and 7" + "some triad"

The triads in the video were, in relation to the tonic of the dominant chord, the 2, b2, 6, and b6. All major except for the b2. The video also went into whether each one worked better resolving to a major or minor chord.

I loved the video because it gave a way to explore interesting harmonies in a really practical and easy to remember way, without having to stress over a ton of details.

I am wondering what other shortcuts/simplifications like this would be good to help explore more interesting harmony, especially stuff that includes altered/out of key notes?
