Why do dragons love gold so much?

Here's one comical explanation from a webnovel I read:

"Only after becoming a dragon did he truly understand why dragons loved gold.

Most dragons were warm-blooded creatures, and their body temperature was extraordinarily high. Whether because dragon blood burned too fiercely, or because the magic coursing through them was too intense, most dragons lived in a constant state of oppressive heat.

Gold conducted heat extremely well, so lying atop it was genuinely pleasurable for dragons."

Revolutionizing the Spirit-Farming industry.

Fellow Daoists, this seat knows the idea of revolutionizing the cultivation world's practices is very corny, but he craves it deeply. This seat would like to know if there are any scriptures where the MC does hydroponic farming.

A Bill Gates funded mosquito factory in Medellín, Colombia, produces 40 million mosquitoes weekly for release via drones and bikes. These insects carry a natural bacterium that prevents them from transmitting viruses to humans. By mating with wild populations, they spread this trait.

For context, I'm an all-A student who neglected to read the last book in the class (which we had a quiz on) eventually because I spent that time prepping for other AP exams. I got a 57% on that "quiz/reading check," and my grade dropped to an 85 this quarter (still a 91 final). Clearly, I did not put in the time to study for this quiz. The problem is not the grade, but her impression of me. I have the inkling that she doesn't like me in the first place, so falling out of favor academically wouldn't help me further. Although I am going into a science/math field, I'm sure many of you know that an English teacher can write a strong recommendation. Thus, I am very nervous as the school year is almost over and I should ask her for a recommendation soon, but I just failed this quiz. If it does affect her impression of me, how can I improve it other than academically?
