First time wearing a dress watch with a very casual outfit and honestly im really liking it!
Current rotation:
1970s Piaget Emperador TV ref. 9434 – formal occasions and nice dinners
Omega Seamaster 300M (210.32.42.20.04.001) – weekend/sporty watch
Looking for a versatile daily under $3,000 (new or used) to round out the collection.
Preferences:
50mm L2L max
Bracelet preferred
Can be dressed up or down
Something that complements the other two rather than overlapping them
Open to any and all recommendations!
I got offered this older hydroconquest quartz model L3.840.4 for a good price. It has a 44mm case , 55mm L2L. My daily has 36mm case, so this definitely has much bigger wrist presence than I’m used to.
Can I pull it off? I am on the shorter side at 5’8 with a stocky build .
I am looking to add some color and personality to my rotation consisting of a SRPL13 mini samurai and a white dial GADA watch. I have narrowed it down to the seiko speedtimer in these 2 colorways.
The SSC947 has the iconic Pogue styled Pepsi bezel and sunburst gold dial. If I go the SSC965 route, I would put on the gulf racing strap for a pop of color similar to the SSC937 set up on the second slide.
Which one would you go with and why? Thanks 🤙
One month ago I randomly decided that I was going to start wearing watches. Since then, I’ve been learning a lot about the hobby through deep-diving into yt videos and doomscrolling this sub. Honestly I am very happy with this 3 watch set-up as it covers pretty much every occasion I’ll ever need. I plan on sticking with this 6 slot box and using the 1 in 1 out rule.
70’s Piaget 18K YG Emperador TV #9434 - This was a gift from my grandpa to my sister before he passed 4 years ago. I don’t think she ever wore it so I asked her about it and she just ended up giving it to me!
Longines Quartz VHP Conquest L3.316.4 - My very first watch purchase. I decided on a quartz since it would be my daily grab n go. Got it for an absolute steal on jomashop. The energy saving feature is cool asf too.
Seiko “Mini-Samurai” SRPL13 - The latest addition to the line up. I’ve been enjoying the process of owning my first automatic watch. There’s something satisfying about winding it and setting the time every time I wear it.
Let me know what you guys think!😁

Decided on the SRPL13 mini samurai for my first seiko and second watch ever. I bought a cheap FKM rubber strap off amazon for the summer which is actually pretty comfortable. Looking forward to wearing it daily for the next couple months!
I am new to the watch game and was gifted this Piaget? watch from my grandpa after he passed and am trying to determine what it is and learn more about it. The caseback is engraved with reference 9434 and serial 233608. I do believe the bracelet is aftermarket 18K gold. Does this look like a genuine vintage Piaget? If so, can anyone identify the model, approximate age, and what kind of value it might have? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
I found a great deal on a 36mm VHP quartz conquest, and decided to pull the trigger as it would be my first and daily watch. Previously, I’ve only ever tried on a Hydroconquest in 43/44mm which looked like a toy gadget on my 6.9in wrist. I am hoping to get some thoughts on whether or not the 36mm is proportionate to my body.
