How to be less inhibited with people i dont see that often?

Im a really funny and witty person with people im comfortable with, but it takes a long time for me to get to that point. Im pretty shy with people who are acquaintances or strangers, i want to be able to be my more comfortable self in every situation if possible.

What do you tell someone when they ask you how to hook the ball?

So many random people in open bowling ask me how to hook the ball. I generally tell them that it’s mostly the ball, is this the right approach or should i try to show them how to hold the ball correctly with a house ball or there no point?

Why is it so difficult to be confident/secure?

I’ve been insecure about various things since i was a child, and never really grew out of it, even though im in my 30s. I dont understand how some people go through life being so confident

Is it normal for a man with a wife and kids to have basically no social life?

My whole life is work, wife and kids, and sleep. Im so bored but also exhausted, and it’s a struggle to find time to go and do something social that’s not with the family. Any friendships i did have, have slowly faded away as I’m always busy and cant just hang out. I didnt realize that having a wife and kids would also be so isolating.

I keep noticing how much height matters irl

Today I was at a busy park with my son, and noticed that i was easily the shortest dad there at 5’7. As someone who is/was insecure about my height for most of my life, it was kinda sobering because while most of us here probably know that life is easier as a man when you’re taller, seeing it in person is a lot more impactful. I’ve also noticed this a lot with other fathers that have higher paying office jobs; they’re usually taller than average. It’s crazy how something so trivial as height can impact your life so much as a man, for better or for worse.

I’m not going to say that it’s impossible to be successful as a short man because obviously i have a wife and kid as do many other short men, but it’s definitely more difficult and i wish for all you short kings out there to get lucky as i did. A tip for you is to NEVER come off as insecure about your height, it’s a huge turn off for women. You must come off as confident and secure, which as a short man can be really difficult, especially since you can easily overdo it and be seen as someone overcompensating. Good luck out there my dudes.

Why do so many women on dating sites never ask any questions about me?

Like sure maybe they’re not interested, but then why match with me? Seems like every conversation is me asking tons of questions and making jokes and then I’ll leave some space for them to ask and they just… dont. It’s like they only have interest in talking about themselves. I’ve noticed this especially in younger women under 25. I know not all women are like this, but I’ve had this happen so many times now that it’s very discouraging. I want someone to be interested in me back, just like anyone else. I often feel like that gif of the jester waving his arms in front of the princess.

how are you supposed to navigate dating as a late 20’s or older man with social anxiety?

i feel like nothing makes women dryer than a guy that is timid, shy, and scared. they want a man that is confident and can take control. i still feel like a shy little boy, which i should have grown out of by now. they’ll say they’re ok with shy guys but when they see the extent of which you are shy, they get the ick. especially as you get older and are not experienced with dating or relationships.

the thought of getting intimate with a woman is terrifying, there will be a huge experience gap at my age and she would have to teach me how to do things, which i feel most women don’t want to do. most women by my age have been in multiple relationships and probably some hook ups as well, im sure they would expect potential partners to have a similar level of experience.

i feel as though i have lots of good traits but im so inhibited that im never able to show them. the only time i feel comfortable talking to women is when it’s anonymous chats online because i can be open and confident. but it feels misleading because im not that way in real life. i dont even want to be seen because im afraid of what they will think. im very lonely but am trapped by my mental issues. social anxiety is such a curse, i would be so much happier if i didnt have it ruining my life.

How are these companies making so many different balls?

Wouldnt basically every type of ball as far as RG and differential goes be done already at this point? Feels like i see each company releasing like 10 balls a year, surely a ton of these overlap

Night shift workers should be limited to 32 hours a week or less

If you’re working overnight, you’re already shaving off years of your life not to mention safety risks. They should be, at minimum, paid as much as day shift but not have to work the same hours.

Why do some men spit all the time?

Im also a guy but have never really felt the urge to spit on the ground unless there is something actually nasty in my mouth. Why is this so common in men? I’ve never seen women do it. I just dont see the point it’s extremely gross and rude

Is it normal to feel like you’re really exaggerating your wrist?

New to one handed,; the only way to get my ball to hook is to get my wrist to this position, but it doesnt really feel natural to have this much ulnar deviation. If i have my wrist cupped but not focusing on keeping my hand in this position, the ball just goes straight. Is this normal or am i doing something wrong? Pic is bill oneill for reference

Why did people start posting all their information online?

I remember growing up being taught to never put any kind of identifiable information on the internet. No pictures, no address, no name, etc. But this changed and now many people post all of that, hell a lot of people want it to be a requirement to submit your ID to use the internet. Why was there such a big change? I know social media is a part of it

Brooklyns seem to strike a lot

When i watch PBA matches, brooklyns always seem decent, they strike or leave the 5 pin. Would aiming for brooklyns ever be a viable strategy?

How tf do you position your hands as a 2 hander?

I have no idea if im actually holding the ball correctly. I feel like my off hand is fine, i have the fingers of my off hand basically touching the fingers of my right, though i do have the tendency to let go w my off hand before i should.

But for the right hand i have no idea how it’s supposed to be. I’ve tried spreading my fingers as far as possible, spreading just my index, keeping my fingers closer together; and my ball reaction is just random, i am not confident in knowing how my ball is going to hook. Sometimes the ball flies off my hand and feels great, but i have no clue how to recreate that feeling. Am i supposed to have my hand completely relaxed or is it supposed to be firm? How deep should my fingers go? Should i change my hand positioning based on where im throwing from? I cannot get consistent at all and it’s extremely annoying
