Completed CS50X

I had a lot of fun with the final project. I should point out that you may need to rehearse or do dry runs of your video presentation because it is tough to keep it under 3 minutes. Keep your presentation on point. And documentation in the readme.md is very important. Make sure you take the time to set your project apart from other assignments, and make that file as complete as possible. Remember that other people will be looking at your project, and this file helps to explain how to use it, and what purpose your project files serves. Good luck.

Brooklin Spring Fair?

Hey, wondering if the Brooklin Spring Fair is actually worth it? $20 to get in and $10 to park. How is parking in the area or is this just going to be as bad as trying to find a spot at the mall lol? Thanks!

Know of any companies that need this hat

Had to share this. Saw this hat at an store in Toronto. I can think of some transport companies that should get this hat, for real.

Edit: why does the AI filter think I'm selling lol. I'm not. It's a picture.

Art exhibit outside A-One Clothing downtown

From Peterborough, frequent visitor. Really like the inspirational art outside the boarded up A-One Clothing store downtown. A few of the dozens. Really fun! More cities should do this. Artist is Ani Castillo. The works are all over the boards, so it is really a surprise to see downtown.

Hi, so I am always amazed about what restaurants are able to thrive. With rents being crazy high and location being key, I am also always curious how some restos can survive when surrounded by other similar offerings. Economics tells us that when the number of offerings of anything of a given type of product or service increases, price goes down, and if more than enough enter the market, profit is reduced to zero. Also, that profit is maximized when you have a differentiated offering, and maybe even premium. Toronto has such a great offering and yet, I am told that operating costs and food costs can be unsustainable.

My question: what is your first sign, as a customer, that a restaurant is going to fail, even if they have a great concept? So many places are gone that shouldn't be, had they only mastered some element of their business. What say you?

I'm working on a final project for a course I am doing, and I'm having trouble finding APIs that are free that point to open source data sets for average rents and mortgages in Canada and USA?

Thanks!

I'm wondering if there is some utility in setting up a superthread here to list all of the potholes that remain unfilled? It seems like the city isn't doing anything despite having their reporting system. Does anyone know if, other than Matt Crowley, any city works people are among us?

So I have Google Scholar alerts to let me know when people cite my papers, and I received one the other day. As usual, delighted, so I decided to go see how they used it. The authors had a paper in an Elsevier journal. When I checked, my name was listed as an uncited reference. Does anyone else find this odd, especially given that proofers at Elsevier and Wiley are kind of anal about pointing out references that are unused (I know this only because one of my papers had that lol...and I removed it from the reference list).

I'm enrolled in CS50x on EdX and making my way through the CS50 problem sets and almost done week 7 and 8 but cs50.me says "you are not enrolled in any courses". The submitted assignments are all there so far.

What is the issue?

Thanks!
