Guys look what I found second hand in a clearance bin at my local record store!

I actually can’t believe it. It was just stashed away with all the less popular second hand records for $5. Is this a rare find

When one direction broke up, what became of that girl they bought off that mum?

You know the girl with the shiny amber/blue orbs, band shirt and messy bun?

If you found a $50 note lying on the ground at Coles or at the local shops, would you take it? What are the chances that it would be snatched up before the owner went back to look for it?

Was anyone too embarrassed to like one direction in the early 2010s because you thought they weren’t cool enough (and you didn’t want to be judged)?

Can we bottle this feeling and throw it into the sun please?

I was also obsessed with twilight until I felt like it was uncool to like it. Because god forbid a girl has interests without being judged constantly.

But that feeling went away by about 2013/2014, and by that point I was already, deeply, obsessed with the Beatles and everything sixties. And getting into 1989 by Taylor Swift. So I didn’t think to engage with modern boybands like 1d as much and then they broke up.

Anyway that’s all I have to say. I’ve been really nostalgic lately and listening to Harry styles new album. And it’s made me think about the 2010s and being a teenager lol

Edit: I’m referring to my thoughts from when I was 14/15. As I matured I stopped caring what others thought

I’ve been told to grow relationships with my colleagues at work, but whenever I try to they either don’t understand the question or ignore me completely when I’m in the room - it goes both ways. Any advice?

Or I’ll be in the same room alone with them and they’ll just speak their own language and ignore me. So I don’t bother talking to them. Should I explain this to my supervisor or would it just cause unnecessary drama?

Real or not, I believe in mclennon more than I believe in Larry stylenson

There’s just so much more substantial evidence regarding Lennon McCartney and the fact that, at the very least, John had some sort of crush on Paul. But every bit of evidence people find for Harry styles and Louis relationship keeps getting debunked

Anyway this is a silly one that’ll get me a lot of flack but oh well

If you’re working in healthcare or childcare you shouldn’t be speaking a language different to your colleagues or clients/students (or country) while working on the floor.

Speaking different languages in the staff room is completely fine. But if I had a dollar for every time two of my colleagues were speaking in a language I couldn’t understand, while working with me and children/patients, only for me to find out they were talking about what to do next and what I should do— I’d be a very rich person.

It’s rude and unprofessional to be discussing important things, things I should be involved in, in a language I cannot understand. Or they will speak about me in their language, I hear my name, and then in my language they will tell me to do something. (It’s usually the older staff that do this too). I used to work in a hospice. And I once stood in a room of three people speaking in a language I didn’t understand. And then they started leaving and expecting me to come with them. I then find out they expected me to help them assist a disabled woman with her hygiene. If you want my help include me in the conversation.

If you can’t understand the main language of the children and clients that you with - to the point in which you need to talk in your own language - then you shouldn’t be working in healthcare or childcare.

Edit: I never said my native language was English. It’s very telling that’s what everyone automatically assumes lol

I was actually in a really “heated rivalry” relationship for 3 years with a rival team’s goal keeper ama

We were both professional football (soccer) players. I won’t say the country just to keep some anonymity. We met when we were 26 at a party. He wasn’t out to his football team, just a couple of friends, so we kept things very private. Which was easy to do, because it was in the early 2010s and before everyone was putting everything on social media. I don’t think I could have such a secret relationship like that now. It’d stress me out too much.

I worked with Taylor Swift for a period of time fifteen years ago or so ama

I did sign an nda at the time but it’s since run out and I’m not really in the music industry anymore, or at least that side of things. I won’t get too personal on some things but happy to answer any questions you guys have.

It’s also quite late here so I might take some time to answer all the questions

Is late November/December a good time to sell a unit? Or should I wait until end of February March next year?

I have a unit that I bought during Covid am renting out but I’m thinking of selling. The lease will expire in August. I’m wondering if it’s better to extend the lease by three months or six months.

Would it be wiser to hold onto the unit due to the negative gearing changes? I currently don’t own any other property. But I’d like to buy a nicer place in my new town. (I don’t have a lot of experience as a home owner or landlord so any advice would be appreciated)

Should I tell my colleagues that I am blind in one eye? Does anyone work in childcare and could share some advice?

I currently work in childcare (not in the US so idk if it’s different there). I am blind in one eye and have reduced vision in the other.

With possibly undiagnosed adhd or autism.

I can still work well in childcare, it just takes me longer to do things and I have to be more alert of my surroundings.

I’ve had past anxiety/bad experiences where other workplaces don’t understand my blindness and get upset that I take so long. Or they get worried when I tell them I have vision problems and ask me all these questions and I feel like it hinders their trust in me.
So I try and avoid telling work because it’s easier.

But I’m at a new place and am wondering if I should tell them my vision problems. But I’m worried that it’ll hinder their trust in my abilities and my job.

I’ve had such bad experiences before because staff don’t understand me and I really don’t want to have sh*tty time at this new place

Any advice would be appreciated

I know it’s widely accepted that “special needs” is a dated and offensive term. What about “additional needs”?

Would saying someone has additional needs be considered ableist/offensive? Or is it more acceptable?

Looking for a historical fiction book, nonfiction, set in a circus or sideshow. And the MC or major character is living with a disability

I’ve read the night circus. Not water for elephants. Will accept romance, added points if theres lgbt characters or love interests

This is niche but I’m looking for a historical fiction sapphic or gay romance set in a circus/carnival. Any suggestions?

Also if you know of any nonfiction which talks about the lgbt community and the circus please let me know 🤗
