Tried to play secret santa safe, accidentally bought a super offensive gift.

I had recently joined a company of 100+ staff and signed up for secret Santa (trying to be a team player). The problem was I had absolutely no idea who the person i was given was. I asked around and all could find out was his name was Sam, he was at manager level, a family man, loved football, dad jokes and was left handed.

Ended up buying a novelty Christmas tie that lit up and put it in a novelty box that said 'left handed tie' (as all ties are sort of ambidextrous so i thought it would be cheeky and show some thought.)

I wasn't there for the gift opening, but apparently it went down REALLY badly because, unbeknown to me, Sam was missing his right hand, not only was the box in poor taste but he can't really tie a tie in the first place

Fortunately nobody knew it was from me and whoever organised the secret santa didn't tell on me, so I continued to work at the company and with Sam for another 9 years without anyone finding out. On my last day at the company i confessed and he called me 'an utter prick' bur we has a laugh about it.

Should we go to the funeral?

A member of our group has recently died. Addiction took him over and despite our best efforts to help he started to steal from us and he wasn't safe to be around our young families. So eventually we all had to stop speaking and associating with him and he then moved away.

The Funerial will be local. Would it be wrong to go to the funeral as we stopped speaking to him and being his friend 6-8 years ago? We all still miss the person he was.

I'm a Veteran and 3gun shooter in England, wanna hear about our stupid gun laws? (And rant about the SA80?)

Long time listerner (since the baddy days) but didnt ever check the sub reddit until now and thought you guys might find this interesting).

I shoot 3gun in the open division, which means I can use semi auto, but british laws prevent you from owning a centre fire, rifled barrel semi auto. This means that I can have a semi-auto, detatchable mag -fed 12 gauge shotgun with a smooth bore shooting slugs (the top gun) but can only have a .22LR rifle.

Pistols are also outlawed, but the law banning them states no firearms under 60cm. So as a loophole my GSG 1911 has a fixed suppressor (we call them moderators) and a carbon fibre rod out the back, making it a 61cm long abomination. If it was a revolver it could be any caliber, but as it's a semi auto it is limited to .22LR again. (Booo)

Moderators (silencers) are heavily encouraged by the government because otherwise people complain, and avilable over the counter. There's absolutely zero restrictions on grips, scopes, furniture or magazine sizes. I could own a .50cal, bolt action, belt feed rifle with an infra-red scope if i could find someone to build one and justify it.

The guns live in a safe in my house (legal requirement) and I have to be a member of a club to get the licence to own them (or a land owner). I have a gun license but not a TV licence. (No doubt I will he jailed for that any day 😂). Once you have a licence with a slot for a specific gun there's no waiting list. I can go buy it from a gun shop same day.

Self defence: owning a gun for self defende is a no no. BUT just this week a farmer was cleared for shooting an intruder with his shotgun with no changes. So god knows what that means going forward.

Ask me any questions, and for the love of god protect your 2A rights!

After 2 years of lusting after one i finally got a Bamford GMT

(Pretty sure Bamford london counts.as a Microbrand as they make limited numbers of their own watches. Bamford watch dept is the side that modifies the Rolexes)

I've wanted one for ages but timing has not been right until now. Titanium with a starbust green dial. The integrated bezel is a cool feature too. Its under the crystal and is adjusted using the crown on the left of the watch, giving you a 3rd timezone with the GMT. I travel a lot for work so it's always a fun feature.

Easily straight to the top 3 of my collection

I mostly drink milk drinks. Would I benifit from upgrading my current setup?

I currently have a Smeg Espresso machine which is just a rebranded De'Longhi Dedica, I got it from FB market place for £100 and it's been good so far. I've added a depressurised basket and paired with a KingGrinder hand grinder. (I like to hand grind)

My wife and I don't drink straight espresso, we mostly drink cappuccinos and lattes. Would we see many benefits from upgrading to a better machine when the majority of the Espresso flavour is somewhat masked by the milk?

Fitted a light blue strap to my Galo Nova and it came out beautifully

The light blue matches the outer ring of the dial. Took a bit of a punt but cant stop looking at it!

I was in london yesterday for work and ducked into this coffee shop to avoid the rain

A grear little coffee shop just by Leicester Square. Great coffee too. Only space inside for about 10 people so it has a awesome little atmosphere. Was like a bubble of calm inside an otherwise really chaotic city.

In Milan, you can park your Diablo anywhere you want and nobody will give you a ticket

While visiting Milan last year we watched this guy park in the middle of a T-junction, over a crossing and walk into the building next to us. Nobody seemed upset about it either. Every local just seemed happy to see a Diablo.

Milan is tough on cars, almost all of them have parking dents or scrapes, so when you take your almost priceless Diablo into the city I guess you park it as far away from everyone else as possible. And i doubt the local police would dare sully such a piece of Italian pride with a parking ticket.

I was just greatful to see a Diablo. There's a lot of supercars where I live in England, but diablos are still very rare.

3 labels of British classic Goodness.

Spotted at the British Motoring Musieum. I'm not brilliant with classics but I'm fairly certain its a triumph Stag, a MG midget and a Triumph TR6 but I'm sure someone here can correct me.

I visited the Alfa Romeo museum in Milan last year, behold the pininfarina collection in all it's beauty!

I took a lot of these in 50MP so I could use them as wallpapers in my frame TV. Hopfuly reddit wont downscale them so others can use them as desktop wallpapers too.

(And a 8C 2900B Lungo that I included because frankly it's stunning. the museum has setup a single chair in front of the 8C so you could sit there and admire it.)
