Is mormonism really a cult?

I’ve been a member of the LDS church for about 5 years. I attend church, have gone to Young Women’s camp, have been to two temples, and have done baptisms for the dead many times. Being involved in the church has been a significant part of my life.✨️🌺

My parents have " left" the church. They never officially removed their records or filled out paperwork, but they haven’t attended church in about two years. I recently started going back, and i am becoming active again.

Lately, though, I’ve been seeing a lot of posts, videos, and comments online claiming that LDS is a cult. It’s made me question things and wonder if I’m making a mistake by returning back.

I have never personally had an experience where I felt like I was in a cult. My experiences have been positive. I know that personal experience is not the whole picture, and I want to understand why so many people have such strong opinions about the church.

How do people actually make new friends after moving away from a small town?

I'm from a very small town, and I have always had an easy time making friends because I grew up with most of them and met the rest through school.

Lately, tho, I've been thinking seriously about moving far away and starting a new chapter somewhere bigger. Part of me is excited, but the other part is nervous because I honestly have no idea how people make friends from scratch as adults.

I'm also worried about meeting the wrong people. I see a lot of stories and videos about friendships going badly, and it makes me hesitant.

One thing I've always wanted is to be part of a friend group that loves to travel, explore new places, and go on adventures together. But how do you even join a friend group when you're moving to a town where you know no one?

I also struggle with social anxiety, so the usual advice of "just put yourself out there" feels easier said than done. Also, I'm a bit too scared to use friendship making apps because of some of the negative stories I've heard about online.

Has anyone here moved away from a small town and successfully built a social circle from scratch? How did you meet people? What worked for you, especially if you're shy or anxious?

I'd appreciate it if anyone could give advice !!

Curious about the meaning of this dream

A few weeks ago, I had a very strange dream, and I would like to share.

I do not remember what happened before this part of the dream, but I was walking toward a door. The door was painted a light sky blue, and it featured a large golden yellow eye. I dont fully remember the colour of the eye, but it may have been blue or brown. There were faint rainbow like colours around the door, and a bright light seemed to be shining from it. I also have a memory of a maybe a sun symbol near the top of the door.

One detail that stood out to me most was the number 3, which I remember seeing somewhere on the door. I have noticed the number 3 appearing in nany of my dreams, but it holds no particular significance in my life. In another dream, I saw a woman wearing a shirt with a triangle looking symbol and the number 3 on it.

I am curious to know whether these symbols (the door, the eye, the bright light, number 3, and the triangle) have any significance, or if I just dream of nonsense?

seeing the number 33 everywhere

about a year ago, I started noticing the number 33 appearing frequently in my daily life. Since then, I have seen it every single day.

At first, I kept a record of every occurrence, but eventually, it became too common to continue writing each one down. The most times I have seen it in a single day was 24.

I encounter it in many different situations. it's on signs and even in my dreams.

One day, while shopping, I heard a cashier tell the customer in front of me that his total was "33 dollars even." on another occasion, I asked my mother what the temperature was. she responded with 33 degrees. These are just a few examples among many.

I searched online to see whether there was any significance to the number and found it was linked to freemasonry and christianity. hiwever, I still do not understand why I seem to encounter it so often.

Has anyone experienced something similar with a particular number? Is there any explanation for this, and is there a way to stop noticing it so frequently?

Does anyone else experience really severe symptoms during their period?

For reference, I’m 18 years of age, and I don’t take any medications. i also do not use pain relief medication as it is prohibited by my parents.

Before my period starts, I go through this state where I’m constantly scared and anxious for no reason. I become afraid of everything, and sometimes I will see things move or float around, including like “shadow figures.”

Then, when my period actually starts, the cramps become unbearable. Today, I was lying on the bathroom floor for 4 hours, sobbing, dizzy, throwing up, and in constant pain. I was scared to stand up because the pain would increase. My eyes also become very sensitive to light.

i’ve always thought symptoms like this were normal symptoms every woman who has a period goes through. But after talking to my friends, apparently they’re not.?!

Does anyone else go through anything similar?
