I bought some second hand AoS:Warcry terrain two years ago and finally today manged to finish painting them. These were real pain in the ass to paint, but at least now i have some cool terrain to play with :)
Took me two weeks to paint the whole unit. Fun minis to paint and few guys got 40k Battlefield trophies Terminator helmets as a heads. Gives them bit of a busted look even when they are the elites of Nostromo (but still cant get their gear fixed do to budget cuts)

Fun weekend project. I was building this lad last week when the Legends news were updated and this big boy got old yellerd. The news don’t affect me, because i’m big fan of 4e core & 3.5e codex 40k games and the old boxnought has place in my army. The old kit was fun to put together and fun to paint :)

I wasnt sure if i was going to keep the pilot visible or not, but closed coffing gave me more to paint, which is always more fun. Too bad i choose such a cool head that can be never seen again xD
Awesome kit even thou there’s a bit too much trim 👍🏻 Magnetized one of the guys to have melta, so my retro 4e NL army can have Raptors with 2 meltas.
Above, the new sheet & bellow the old.
Winged skulls eye- & nose holes are off center and right sided wings are off the skull. The skulls facing left are also busted. You can also see white outline in some of the decals. That might be a back round layer of the decal itself. This is very anoying because i use a lot of decals in my minis.
I send a email to GW customer service last week but had not heard of them yet. I also send a message to my FLGS, but their proposed replacement sheets were also miss printed.
UPDATE:
FLGS called me and insisted, that the separated wing from the skull is a feature, not a bug. They SHOULD BE LIKE THAT. I very politely(!) objected and pointed out that the old transfer sheet wasnt like that and it makes zero sense to make the use of transfer sheet usage harder. We are now in a impasse and agreed to wait for GWs awser.
My boys in blue needed a Dreadnought for a 4e games. I really like the classic boxnought desing so i got one before the kit is lost to legends.
This was really nice little kit to build! The different armor panels have multiple, varied bits so you can make it as detail heavy or plain as you like. I like to freehand, so i tried to keep some open spaces free from bits.
Used bits:
-Skulls from 40k Battlefield trophies & Aos Skulls box
-Roof: spikes (CSM Terminators)
-Plasma cannon: torso (AoS FeC Crypt ghouls) & hooks (Csm Rhino?)
-Close combat arm: Spiked torso (FeC Crypt Horro) & Severed heads (Csm Raptors)
I started my army with the Night Lords Combat Patrol in 1st of June and here’s how the army has grown so far :) I have painted since June 38 miniatures! The CP gave me 17 minis, Jumpac Lord, Rhino, 5 Chosen and 10 Nemesis Claw. Then i got 20 MKVI HH marines and kitbashed them with 40k bits and then i repainted one of my retro SM Command Squad minis for a painting competition which i sadly could not attend do to scheduling conficts. Up next i have pile of cultists, Dark Commune & Accursed Cultists, Teminators and i’m also waiting for a box of Raptors to show up, but for now, i need a bit of break for painting do to small burnout & back pains 😅 What do you guys think?
Finally my Combat Patrol is finished! I love painting Rhinos. The can be as plain or detailed as you like and they still look cool :) As a fan of the band Lordi, it was obvious subject for a NL tank. Every party bus needs their sponsors after all. The Lordi freehand too 3-5h to do and was to most time consuming part of this project. The blue hull was pretty fast and easy to do.
So, i have the Night Lords Combat Patrol painted which includes Chaos lord on jump pack, 5 Choosen, 10 Nemesis claw operatives (count as legionaries/choosen?) and a Rhino. I also have 20 legionaries kitbashed from HH MKVI marines & bunch of heavy weapons/heavy melee weapons. This is about 1300p of CSM now and my hobby group plays 4th e core & 3-3.5e codex 1500-2000p games and also had 2v2 750p games which are quite popular in form of a game day events.
I have Dark Commune, Accursed Cultists and normal cultists waiting to be painted (got them from a Ashes of Faith KT box).
I have some experience playing with 3e orks, but not sure how grow my CSM/Lost and Damned(?) lists. What should be must haves and what would be fun to play with? I dont really care for lore accurate lists which in a sense cut me off from demonic(/fun?) units :D
My Heresy MKVI & 40k Legionaries bits project is close to finnish. Two wip legionaries (missing washes and some details) and a finished champion. After these there is only one marine to paint and then the Rhino whoch should be a fun project.
I repainted one of my oldest minis, Captain of 3e SM Command Squad. I have always really liked that kit and painted the captain as a Night Lord for painting competition of a FLGS. I didn’t really think any lore justifications why he was wearing loyalist gear, i just wanted paint something cool :)

Little project for painting competition of a FLGS. I’ve had this dude since -04, so it was nice to give him a new coat of paint. Hardest parts, the sword and cape are done, so now this should finish in a day or two.
Heavy weapons guys and Aspiring Champion to my Legionaries units. Mix of MKVI bodies and 40k bits

I have gotten lots of praise & questions about my Legionaries armor recipe, so i maide this tutorial. The basic blue armor is actually pretty easy three step progress, so hopefully this helps :) If you guys have any questions or need for more tutorials, ask away!
I know this will come up: Because i used a kitbashed mini, it doesnt have the winged helmet, so i didn’t write about my red recipe which is just basecoat of Khorne red and highlight of Mephiston Red!

Painted in abouth 10h during two days. The amount of trim and other details was pretty intense but powered through it. I’m very happy how he turned out!
During june, i kitbashes and painted two units of Legionaries from Heresy MKVI tactical squad. The units were missing any kind of heavy weapons, so now they are getting some dakka as well. The lascanon is missing the wires which i’m adding later from guitar strings. Might aswell build a third unit, so i made Aspiring Champion too.

heads from Legionaries/Battlefield Trophies and weapons from Chosen-/legionaries-/Havocs kit.
More kitbashed Csm Marines! This time armed with bolters. These were quite fast and simple to paint. The MKVI armor is a big canvas to do what ever you like 👍🏻Heresy torsos and mostly 40k heads/arms.
