I wanted to share a quick positive review and experience I just had with The Pocket Spring Store.
When building or customizing a mattress setup, the biggest hesitation for me was ordering components with no return or exchange policy. It makes buying online pretty nerve-wracking when you can't test it first.

I reached out to customer support and ended up in a long email exchange with Matan. He went above and beyond—exchanging tons of detailed emails with me, and then spending over 30 minutes on the phone. We talked through mattress design, sleep mechanics, and even just chatted about life. He is an absolute wealth of knowledge, completely genuine, and never made me feel rushed. His expertise gave me total confidence in my decision.

I ended up ordering the 8" 14.75-gauge QuadCoil unit, which I'll be pairing with a 3" medium Talalay latex topper inside his 11" premium stretch cover.
If you are on the fence or nervous about diving into DIY mattress builds, don't hesitate to do business with them.

am a 5ft 7 strict back sleeper 196lbs fairly muscular and have wide large hips and shoulders I am wanting to try Texas pocket springs would you recommend 14.75 or 15.5 I plan to repurpose my all latex set up due to being way way to firm and rigid the latex is pressing back hard on my lower back. I have

3in medium tal
3in firm tal
3in xfirm tal
2 in tempurpedic topper
2 in memory foam topper.

I want to see if a combo of one of these and the coils will finally get me a good night rest. I am getting good alignment and my body aches are better but damn I’m waking up constantly due to firmness.

I plan to get stretch cover from pocket spring store and one of their Texas pocket spring units.

Hey everyone,

I am a 5ft 7 190 lb muscular “stocky” strict back sleeper with broad shoulders and hips.

I’ve been stuck in a 3-month trial-and-error cycle with a 12-inch DIY latex setup and could really use some expert feedback.

Current Mattress Setup:
12" Modular Encasement (Twin XL)
Four 3-inch Talalay Latex Layers: Soft / Medium / Firm / Extra Firm

The Core Issues:

1. With all 4 layers (12" total latex): My hips sink in way too far, causing pelvic dipping, spinal misalignment, and morning pain/stiffness.

2. With Soft under Medium: Swapping the top layers didn't fix the deep hip sink.

3. With 3 layers (9" latex total) + 1 layer as an outer topper: Reduced the sink slightly, but alignment still felt off.

4. With 3 layers total (8" encasement / removed a 3" layer): My hips stayed up, but the pushback on my lower back was way too intense and uncomfortable.

What I'm Looking For:
I need my hips properly elevated for neutral spinal alignment, but I cannot stand aggressive pushback against my lumbar region.

I'm ready to dump the full-latex core, buy an 8-inch pocket coil base, and use one of my existing 3-inch Talalay layers on top as the comfort layer.

The Question:
For those with DIY hybrid experience, should I go with the

8" Texas Pocket Springs (QuadCoil) or the 8" Leggett & Platt (Combi-Zone)?

I'm leaning toward TPS because I'm worried the extra-firm center band on the L&P Combi-Zone will recreate the same lower back pushback pain I'm experiencing right now.
If TPS is the way to go, which gauge/density would pair best with a single 3" Talalay comfort layer (Medium vs. Soft)?
Any guidance from fellow DIYers or mattress techs would be greatly appreciated!

Hey everyone, I need some help dialing in my DIY setup.

Current Setup & Specs:

Me: 5’7”, 190 lbs, athletic/broad build (broad shoulders and hips). Strict back sleeper.

Components on hand:
3” Soft Talalay latex
3” Medium Talalay latex
3” Firm Talalay latex
3” Extra-Firm Talalay latex
12” Cotton/Wool stretch-knit cover

The Problem:

I have tried virtually every layer combination imaginable across 12-inch, 9-inch, and 6-inch builds:

1. Thicker/All-Latex builds: Hips sink too low/sag, causing
   lumbar arching.

2. Thinner builds (e.g., 6” or 9”): Fixes the sagging, but creates intense pushback/surface tension causing pressure point pain.

Latex has done wonders for my chronic aches and pains, but I can’t get the alignment vs. pressure relief balance right, and my sleep efficiency is tanking.
Questions for the Sub:

1. Pocket Coils vs. Firm Latex Base: Would ditching the Firm/X-Firm latex bases for an 8” Leggett & Platt Combi-Zone (or Quantum Edge) coil unit give a less "rigid" feel while maintaining proper spinal alignment?

2. Comfort Layer on Coils: If I switch to an 8" coil base, would 3" of Medium or 3" of Soft Talalay generally be the sweet spot for a 190 lb back sleeper to prevent hammocking while relieving pushback?

3. Cover Impact: Could a tight 12" cotton/wool cover be contributing to the pushback/drum-skin effect when stuffed with firm latex?
   Appreciate any insights or recommendations from anyone with a similar frame who made the latex-over-coil hybrid switch!

I have been getting the run around on this iPhone Air return. Went to the retail store. They said customer service has to do the return. Called customer service and spent 45 minutes for them to say that my imei is messed up and need to go to the store to do the return.

I tried to process the return through the app and the website. It seems they want me to keep this Darn phone even when they have a 14 day return window.

What do I do lol

I really wanted to use this phone case less I feel like that’s the way it was designed to be used. I have had the phone for 48 hours. The phone constantly stays hot, I walked from the car to a store ( maybe 2 minutes) with phone in my hand and it got incredibly hot and that heat stuck around for at least half hour!

I also noticed just sitting at home scrolling Facebook responding to text messages or doing light activity. This thing will generally get hotter and hotter to the point of it just being obnoxious.

I’m also not a huge fan of the battery and three hours of screen on time draining the entire thing to 15%

I love the form factor and went back to my 16+ for one day and absolutely hate how big and chunky it is!

So I’m torn put a case on it and sacrifice the form factor or return it and keep the 16+

What is a good polo shirt that can be tucked in! I have a athletic frame where my shoulders and biceps and chest are bigger than the bottom half of my torso and it makes it very difficult to find anything comfortable that fits and makes me not look like I’m 300 pounds with extra fabric

Hey guys I found this company custom sleep tech on the mattress underground forum. They are based out of Connecticut and use your body metrics to create a custom Talalay latex mattress. Does anyone have this particular bed?

Hey guys, I saw that the water pump and thermostat fails at around 150-200k miles. Watched a video and man it looks hard and tight in there. Lexus wasn’t 2100 bucks and Independents in my area are 15-1700 bucks.

Is this as difficult as the videos make it look? I’m not afraid of putting the work in but damn some videos show the motor coming out completely!

Hey guys just bought a 2013 Lexus es350 148k miles passed PPI and noticed issues with gear hunting and sluggish shifting. Took it to Lexus and they did a drain and refill about 200 miles ago and the issue has not resolved.

My question for you gentlemen, what is a good scanner that can do a transmission module reset back to factory so it can relearn the new fluid and I can see solenoid and torque converter live readings

Just got a 2013 Lexus es350 with 147k miles got a PPI it passed with flying colors. Tech said to do a transmission service.

Check carfax and looks like it’s never been done. Unless done at a place that doesn’t report.

I have mechanics saying they won’t do the job because it can cause damage even a simple drain and refill. What has been your experience?

Hey guys, I got a Lexus yesterday and got a pre purchase Inspection. Tech drive it and inspected and gave it a green light.

I noticed when I press firmly it feels mushy and off compared to anything I have driven in the past. Is this normal?

Just got a 2013 Lexus ES350 and the cooling feature is so faint on both seats I can barely feel it is this normal? Is it just not very pronounced?
