Sunday 80s spins. Can't find these full albums on YouTube music.

This changes all the time but currently GhostBusters and Footloose are missing songs on YTM. The missing songs change and come and go.

Luckily, the record shop in Tokyo I always go to has one soundtrack i want every year i visit. Cheap, good condition, and the extras are fun to check out. Tiny shop near my inlaws in Jimbocho with mostly Jazz.

I can't stop from cleaning my house when Footlose is on. My wife is Japanese and loves 80s music as well. So she is now dancing. Win win.

Help finding original songs covered by The Vindictives.

TLDR: who originally performed Laugh Your Troubles Away?

I found a copy of Party Time for Assholes, an album of covers by The Vindictives. 1994 2x10inch records.

I listened to it a lot in the 90s and still remember so many of the lyrics. Never thought about the songs they covered. It just sounded like more Vindictives, which is what i wanted.

I'm going through and looking at the original versions of the songs. No Rules, by Tiffany feels so slowed down after growing up with the Vindictives version.

Most of the original songs are indicated on Genius, but i can't find Laugh Your Troubles Away.

There might be others as i continue to go through it.

Thanks for any insights!

Edit: here are the 25 songs on a YouTube playlist.

I'm cracking up. It's so slow. But crazy how varried and how little they change to make it a Vindictives song.

Using Genius, I'm reading the lyrics for the original song while listening to the Vindictives version.

Here is Party Time for Assholes. It's one long video, but has time stamped songs in the description.

AC4 Resynced Shanty soundtrack on YouTube music, and a vinyl release is open for pre-order

*I had s screen shot but can't include it due to rules. I'm on mobile and can't seem to add here either. I'll try and add to a comment.

-------------

Im in Japan on YouTube music, so this might be regional.

It's missing the first song for some reason, but that song was released as a single and IS available on YTM. YTM does this alot with sound tracks. I assume it's saving them money on licensing or something. It's why i try and get soundtracks on physical media.

The vinyl soundtrack getting released again is super exciting for me. I've had it on my wishlist forever, never expecting to own it on vinyl. I think they only pressed a few for the developers originally.

Laced Records has a 2 disc set and a 5 disc set that includes the shanties. Releases early 2027. Colored vinyl and black vinyl.

I can't listen to a lot of soundtracks regardless how good they are, but this one i listen to all the time. It really captured a feeling of adventure.

Anyone else see this on their streaming? Hopefully you get the full tracks. Looking forward to more of the digital releases while i wait for the vinyl to drop next year.

Missing the first song on a new album drop... Still excited this is getting an upgrade.

I'm super excited to play this game again and i still listen to the sound track all the time since I first played Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag.

Both the The Sea Shanty and the orchestral stuff are super fun. I can't listen to alot of sound tracks, but some hit just right for me and this is one of them.

Missing the first song though. Really?

At least this will be available on vinyl again so i don't have to worry about songs coming and going. I think it originally got a small vinyl print that just went to people working on the game.

Looks like a 5 disc set is up for preorder.

From sketch to finished product

My neighborhood association is awesome. Not like an hoa at all. But actually listening and helping community.

So i volunteer and make posters for them.

Last meeting i asked what they thought about making tshirts and they trusted me enough to give me $550.

T shirts are getting printed now and we will hand them out to volunteers that show up to clean our neighborhood. Used s print shop today helps at risk youth.

I'm so happy and proud right now.

Do you make the distinction between being a collector and a consumer?

Looking to get others point of view.

I realized after collecting comics most my life, that I'm more of a consumer. And making that distinction helped me avoid impulse buying and enjoying the hobby more.

I gave my small record collection to my sister when i moved abroad. I got it back when i moved home about 10 years ago.

I went from 10 records and I'm up to 50 now. About 5 records a year.

I realized quickly i don't have space for cool records i didn't listen to. Only the records i actively consume. Maybe there is a better word for it than consume....

I wonder if a lot of people here who post about burn out or getting jaded with the expense might benefit from changing their mindset?

If i don't flip through a comic, or listen to a record after a year on the shelf, i tend to sell it and use the money for something new.

It's weird when i talk to friends or aquaintences and they just assume I'm collecting.

"That must look good on the shelf."

"Kind of expensive for that one thing."

"I use to collect so and so and am happier i got away from it."

"I bet you can flip that for a good price."

"Why collect a comic you only read once?"

Either judging and/or assuming I'm not actively enjoying the content.

Sorry, Pink Floyd the wall. I love the music and almost never want to listen to it. I can stream it.

(I have about 2000 comics, at least half are hardcovers. My eBay selling box is always full.)

Edit: lots of responses with different points of views. Exactly what i hoped for. I love reassesing the way i think about something.

Any more of these coming out? Any I'm missing?

I absolutely love these artist proof editions.

Did i miss any? Any more coming out?

Sean Murphy usually includes one of these in his Kickstarters. I hope Image does more someday.

2nd image Banana and Injection TPB for scale.

I also have 6 of the pen and ink 11 x 17 ones.

Edit: Fuck. I have The Walking Dead one as well. I forgot to add it to the photo. I love Tony Moore.

How is my interpretation of the Carryx? Is there a place with all the descriptions gathered together?

This is how i saw the Carryx in my mind while reading. If there is description that i can use to make this better, I'd love to be reminded of it before i ink this.

I want to do a few drawings from the books after i get this down. The landing scene. The ceremonial scene. And I'm working on a view from the landing platform, of the world. Thanks for any feedback or criticism.

Haha. Fan art. No ai. Good tags.

But i mixed in a little star wars.

And the next sketch I made to show a friend how perspective works.

The both need some work. But i learned a lot from the study. Going to fix the X wing fighter tomorrow, and just leave the lady with short legs alone.

Picked up this book from the library this week, Bond by Design. I'm loving the work by Ken Adamn and making some drawing studies from them.

I usually spin soundtracks on Saturday mornings and was kind of forgot i had this album.

The Best of 007. 1969. Some coffee stain on the cover but the record sounds great. Picked it up in Tokyo near my wife's family place. My favorite hole in the wall used record shop. Mostly jazz, but always random stuff i like mixed in.

I'm not even a huge Bond fan, but i guess i am.

Going to watch some of the older Bond movies with the design and music specs in mind now.

Collected quite a few growing up. Not in the best shape, but read and loved.

I pulled these out for reference while drawing a crustacean type monster from a book I'm reading. Trying to get similar looking armor.

Any other Work by Turner i should check out?

Edit: wow. I didn't realize how much reflection in that 1st photo.
