I commissioned my friend Nora (@noratshere on insta) to actualize and idea for a Lamenters coat of arms I had rattling around in my head, and then after getting delayed by surprise car repairs (how appropriate) enlisted the aid of Morgan, the same gal that had done Steve Guardsman and Jimmy Gaunt for me, to do the final ink. And since people ask, the IW skull is a little personal inside joke. Nora had added a skull motif based on reference material I had sent and I had the silly idea to make it an Iron Warriors skull. Kind of a "IW are where I'm at, Lamenters are what I aspire to be" sorts thing. Also the Iron Warriors are cool.

A friend of mine attends GenCon and always checks in with me if I'm looking for anything. Managed to nab Wizards of Morcar for under MSRP thanks to them, and some other con goodies.

Finally got around to making Maktlan Kutlakh for my Maynarkh Dynasty army using the Nerubic Revenants from the Snooze Monarch and a random Overlord head. Pretty pleased with how he turned out, looking forward to painting him.

Been toying around with my Maynarkh Dynasty list, running our beloved Phaerakh as a Skorpekh Lord instead of Illuminor Szeras. Since the base and model size decreased I figured I'd try a different approach to modeling her this time. She's a mix of parts from the original Mother of Oblivion render and a more recent Lady Orochi sculpt done by the same artist and scaled up to be the right size, and her "Lychguard" is a mix of the new Hollow Shell Revenants and the earlier Guardian Revenants from the man, the myth, the legend, the Slumber Monarch.

A friend of mine is eerily good at mimicking the style of illuminated manuscripts so I decided to commission them for my first non-silly Warhammer tattoo.

Since someone will inevitably ask or comment, yes, that is the pre-heresy Iron Warriors skull. I sent her a bunch of reference pictures and she had an idea on how to include the usual skull motif and I decided to have some fun with it because...

1: I love the Iron Warriors, too. (Not as much as I love the Lamenters, but they're not too far off)

2: The Lamenters are pretty much what the Iron Warriors might be like if they stayed loyal. Iron Warriors is closer to what I am, Lamenters are what I aspire to be.

3: Fuck you, I do what I want. It's my money, my skin, and you can't stop me.

My first WHFB army was Lizardmen when the 5th edition starter launched and my first 40k army was Necrons when they got their codex in 3rd edition. The irony didn't even occur to me until years later.

Called forth a Defiler to provide heavy fire support for my Iron Warriors.

Making my way through Dead Sky, Black Sun, couldn't help but laugh when that paragraph came up.

Ahoyhoy! I'm working on my Iron Warriors list after picking up the awesome new IW models. I'm aiming to make use of the entire Combat Patrol and then build up from there. Not looking to make a peak meta list, just a flavorful Iron Warriors list that is solidly functional and fun to play.

Got my IW boxes last week and figured I'd see how the Heretic Void-Valkers sized up next to Kravek Morne. That mad and magnificent bastard somehow managed to preemptively nail the scale. The only logical explanation I can think of is dark sorcery.

I put Morne on a second base to compensate for my Warsmith's tactical rock.
