What do we think of Jesse Legree

Has been going absolutely bonkers this year as a true freshman. He is a speed demon and has faced solid competetion this year with Orgeon State. Obviously, has at least 2 more years to go but wondering how he looks so far as a prospect, should he transfer to a big time school next year?

Thoughts on Qb tier list?

Feel bad for putting Tlaw but he has been too inconsistent in his career.

Jordan Smith Jr. yesterday: 21 points, 11 rebounds, 11 assists vs Carleton

May not be Acuff level on offense but has juice and is a much better defender. Thoughts on his performance or on him as a prospect?

A Rule of Thumb for anyone trying to get research oppurtunities as someone that was lucky enough to recieve one

Hi everyone, I have been on this sub for a little bit and one thing I have seen consitently when it comes to improving EC's is research. I am a rising Junior and am currently working with a professor on research involving injury rates. While I did get this oppurtunity, I won't pretend to know all the ins and outs of getting research, but I will offer a few helpful tips curated through my process of finding oppurtunites like this.

  1. Cold Email in Abudance with Effiency

When it comes to students wanting to help professors in the lab, there are far too many when compared to how many spots are available. Additonally, Professors are also busy people and may not give much thought to vague emails regarding research especially by high school students. Thus, I would say that the rate of response to an email is around 25% and the rate of helpful responses pushing this matter forward is <1%. However, the more emails done, the more likely it is to get good responses. Also, I would assume that you guys also are busy with other activities in your lives, so it is not feasible to spend a ton of time emailing. Due to this, If I were you guys, I would have an email template that says the same repeatable facts every time. However, A personal touch to each professor is crucial in my opinion so add in a few setences about a professor's study to show you are really engaged.

  1. Preface what you are looking for in as specific details as possible

What I mean by the point above is communicate clearly what you are looking to do with the professor and what you would like from them. Truthfully, I did not think of this point much through my process, but when I got my first relatively sucessful response where the professor met me over google meets and said he would teach me how to research and aid me with a project. At this point, everything sounded great so I stopped cold-emailing. Then one day I come home and check my email, and it turns out he wants nearly $2000 for this oppurtunity and if I did pay the money, this would not be nearly as impressive or real as getting unpaid research work, as if one can just simply pay for these opportunities, it means merit does not even matter. With this experience, I would advise you guys to communicate that you are looking to aid the professor in their work in a setting where you don't pay ( I used this example as this is what I assume most of you guys are looking for) With this, you can be effiecent and onece you hopefully get a positive response you will know where to go.

  1. Understand that this process involves luck

While I'm sure this last point defintely will sound unhelpful to you all, I feel like this is the most crucial part. Getting an unpaid research opp with a professor is extremly rare. It either requires uncommon ability or experience which most of you guys (including myself) don't have and thats okay as that is not a prequesite for sucess but in regards to getting these oppurtunities helps, having connections will defienetly help but there is not much you can do if you don't have any, lastly this requires luck. Less than one percent of professors need help or could use help from high schoolers, so just remember that most professors will either not respond or say they cannot help you.

  1. Failure does not define you

This relates to my last point, but getting research like this is rare and requires the help of factors outside of ones control. Thus, even if you all get nothing, keep your head high and keep trying hard to explore your interests and strengthing your resume. Research is definetely not a make or break but a nice bonus, it is not a prequisite for getting into a HYPSM or T20's.

Excuse my spelling mistakes through this and I hope this was helpful. Feel free to ask questions in the comments.

The thing about Yaxel that you guys may be missing

Hi everyone. In light of the Warriors taking Yaxel one of your guys rightful concerns has been age. However, the thing about being "older" in the draft is that these type of prospects are often nearly maxed out as they have much more experience than their younger counterparts and only have a limited ceiling. However, Landeborg started playing organized basketball at 17. To be hnest, he is very new to this game and may have some more potential than the traditional older prospect. I personally like the pick as I view Yaxel as the protypical forward in the NBA: he's big, switchable, smart, is a good playmaker and can shoot the ball. Let me know your thoughts below

Why I believe the Browns trade isn't as bad as you guys might think

Hi everyone. I am a 49ers fan who like every other NFL fan was extremly surprised by the trade and in my case worried as the 49ers have to compete with the Rams along with the Seahawks. However, looking on the Browns perspective there are a few reasons I do not think this is a bad return at all.

  1. Jared Verse imo is worth 2 first round picks as an asset himself: As a Niners fan, I watched Verse played 2+ times against my team and he was quite disruptive even against Trent Williams. Trent McDuffie an slite slot corner was traded for a first and third. Verse plays a more valuable position and is on his rookie deal. Quite frankly, I believe Verse is already a top ten edge rusher and is still quite young.

  2. The 2027 draft class is stacked. I know the Rams pick is likely to be late 20s or in the 30s, but the 27 draft us genuinely stacked and imo equates around a mid first round pick in this draft.

  3. Direction. Myles Garret is no doubt the better player now and I'm sure he means a lot to you guys for how long he has been with this team. However, in the current state of the Browns, they will be bad with or without Myles Garret and Verse is younger, cheaper, and imo will likely be better in 5 years.

I know Myles Garret meanas a lot to your franchise but atleast on an asset return scale I believe you got a relatively decent return in the context of where your team is headed.

How to get from 1500-1520 range to 1550

Hi everyone, I've been doing a lot of practice tests to prepare for the June SAT, and in my practice tests I've been scoring about 1500-1520 in them. To get to 1550, how would you guys specifically prepare and what resources would you use. I still have Practice 5 and 6 on bluebook remaining.
