Can't keep your co-op ICARUS prospect going when the host is offline? We built a fix

Hey r/Icarus,

My friend and I built SaveSync, a tool that syncs co-op save files between players so you and your friends can keep the same ICARUS prospect going without renting a dedicated server or passing save files around by hand.

The problem we kept hitting: a co-op save lives on whoever is hosting. Your prospect, your base, your character progression and gear, all locked to one machine. When the host is offline, the run is offline. A dedicated server works but it's setup and a monthly cost for what's usually just a few friends.

We hit this wall ourselves playing Schedule 1 together. One of us was sick at home, the other stuck at work, and the save was locked on the host's machine. So we built SaveSync, first just for ourselves. Turns out it's a problem across a ton of co-op games, ICARUS included.

How it works: SaveSync auto syncs your save to the cloud after each session. When your friend wants to play, they pull the latest save and host it themselves on their own machine. No dedicated server, no monthly fees, no manual file swapping, and you keep a full timestamped history so a bad drop can be rolled back. Setup guide here: How to play ICARUS with friends using SaveSync

What players have said:

"We have enjoyed the ease and convenience of a server with the security of local world hosting. Also allowing those in a closer geological location to have lower ping." - Steam review, 459 hours played

"Great product, works amazingly well and does exactly what it promises. Not having to rent or manage a private server is a huge plus especially if you just want to jump in and play without extra hassle or costs." - Steam review, 1,122 hours played

SaveSync supports ICARUS plus 40+ other co-op games including Valheim, Terraria, Stardew Valley, Minecraft (Java + modded), Don't Starve Together, Enshrouded, Core Keeper, Project Zomboid, Satisfactory, Palworld, Vintage Story, Necesse, and more.

Can't keep your co-op Abiotic Factor run going when the host is offline? We built a fix

Can't keep your Terraria world going when the host is offline? We built a fix

Hey r/Terraria,

My friend and I built SaveSync, a tool that syncs co-op save files between players so you and your friends can keep the same Terraria world going without renting a dedicated server or passing .wld files around by hand.

The problem we kept hitting: a multiplayer world lives on whoever is hosting. Your builds, your bosses, your loot, all locked to one machine. When the host is offline, the world is offline. A hosted server fixes it, but that's setup and a monthly cost for what's usually just a few friends.

We hit this wall ourselves playing Schedule 1 together. One of us was sick at home, the other stuck at work, and the save was locked on the host's machine. So we built SaveSync, first just for ourselves. Turns out it's a problem across a ton of co-op games, Terraria included.

No dedicated server, no monthly fees, no manual file swapping, and you keep a full timestamped history so a bad night can be rolled back. Setup guide here: How to play Terraria with friends using SaveSync

What players have said:

"My brother and I took a leap of faith and bought this tool since he was unable to spawn into our shared game. This tool fixed that issue and now we are both able to continue our play through." - Steam review, 35 hours played

"As a player who would hop between worlds because of losing old ones to servers, this allows us to start up that two week phase anytime on that same old world. Absolutely incredible and the Developer is an absolute legend on their Discord." - Steam review, 206 hours played

SaveSync supports Terraria (plus tModLoader) and 40+ other co-op games including Valheim, Stardew Valley, Minecraft (Java + modded), Don't Starve Together, Enshrouded, Core Keeper, Project Zomboid, Satisfactory, Palworld, Vintage Story, Necesse, and more.

Can't keep your shared Windrose save going when the host is offline? We built a fix

Hey r/crosswind,

My friend and I built SaveSync, a tool that syncs co-op save files between players so you and your friends can keep the same Windrose save going without renting a dedicated server or passing save files around by hand.

The problem we kept hitting: a shared save lives on whoever is hosting. All that progress is locked to one machine, so when the host is offline, nobody can continue. The options are bad: wait around, swap save files by hand, or pay for a server for what's usually just a couple of friends.

We hit this wall ourselves playing Schedule 1 together. One of us was sick at home, the other stuck at work, and the save was locked on the host's machine. So we built SaveSync, first just for ourselves. Turns out it's a problem across a ton of co-op games, Windrose included.

How it works: SaveSync auto syncs your save to the cloud after each session. When your friend wants to play, they pull the latest save and host it themselves on their own machine. No dedicated server, no monthly fees, no manual file swapping, and you keep a full timestamped history so a mistake can be rolled back. Setup guide here: How to play Windrose with friends using SaveSync

What players have said:

  • "We have enjoyed the ease and convenience of a server with the security of local world hosting. Also allowing those in a closer geological location to have lower ping." - Steam review, 459 hours played
  • "This is a must if you are playing with a friend and want to play on that world but they are offline - this fixes that. No subscription and you just need to upload that save and they can play it with their saved data, it's that easy." - Steam review, 149 hours played

SaveSync supports Windrose plus 40+ other co-op games including Valheim, Terraria, Stardew Valley, Minecraft (Java + modded), Don't Starve Together, Enshrouded, Core Keeper, Project Zomboid, Satisfactory, Palworld, Vintage Story, Necesse, and more.

Can't keep building when the host is offline? We made a fix for shared Satisfactory saves

Title: Can't keep building when the host is offline? We made a fix for shared Satisfactory saves

Body: Hey r/SatisfactoryGame,

My friend and I built SaveSync, a tool that syncs co-op factory saves between players so anyone in your group can host and keep building without a dedicated server.

The problem we kept hitting: Your factory lives wherever it was hosted. Belts half routed, a new coal setup waiting on power, a manifold you swore you'd finish tonight, and the host can't get on. Everyone else just stares at the blueprint. Renting a dedicated server works, but it's one more thing to pay for and keep running just to keep the factory moving.

We ran into this ourselves in another co-op game. One of us was sick at home, the other stuck at work, and the save was locked on the host's machine. So we built SaveSync, first just for ourselves. Turns out almost every co-op game has a version of this, and a long factory build like Satisfactory feels it the most.

How it works: SaveSync auto syncs your Satisfactory save to the cloud after each session. When a friend wants to play, they pull the latest save and host it themselves. No dedicated server, no monthly fee, no manual file copying. It keeps a full timestamped history too, so if a build goes sideways you can roll back.

What players have said:

"Great product, works amazingly well and does exactly what it promises. Not having to rent or manage a private server is a huge plus especially if you just want to jump in and play without extra hassle or costs." - Steam review, 1,122 hours played

"This is a must if you are playing with a friend and want to play on that world but they are offline, this fixes that. No subscription and you just need to upload that save and they can play it with their saved data, it's that easy." - Steam review, 149 hours played

If you want to set it up, here's our Satisfactory guide: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3587509218

SaveSync supports Satisfactory plus 40+ other co-op games including Valheim, Stardew Valley, Terraria, Minecraft (Java + modded), Don't Starve Together, Enshrouded, Core Keeper, Project Zomboid, Palworld, Vintage Story, ICARUS, Necesse, The Planet Crafter, Abiotic Factor, and more.

Can't keep your co-op Minecraft world going when the host is offline? Here is how we fixed it.

Hey r/Minecraft,

My friend and I kept hitting a really annoying issue while playing Java edition: the world save lives entirely on whoever is hosting. Your base, your farms, your progress it's all locked to one machine. When the host is offline, nobody else can play.

A dedicated server or a Realms subscription fixes this, but not everyone wants to deal with a monthly subscription fee or complex server setups just to play with one or two friends.

We wanted a way to pass the save file back and forth automatically, so we built a lightweight sync tool for ourselves called SaveSync: Co-op Save Sharing Made Easy . ( available on steam)

How the concept works: Instead of a central server running 24/7, the world save automatically backs up to cloud storage at the end of a session. When a friend wants to play later, they can grab the latest save, host it on their own machine, and keep the progress going. When they finish, it syncs back up.

It works for vanilla Java, modded packs, and we even built in a timestamped history so we can roll back the world if a creeper blows up something important.

We're really proud of how it turned out and wanted to share the concept with anyone else tired of waiting around for their host friend to get online.

Happy to answer any questions about how we handle the syncing or the logic behind it!

Tip for co-op groups: you can keep a shared save going even when the host is offline

A lot of co-op and survival games tie the world to one host. If that friend is offline, nobody can continue. We ran into this constantly in our group with games like Valheim, Palworld, and 7 Days to Die.

A few ways people solve it:

  • Rent a dedicated server. Works, but costs money and takes setup for every game.
  • Manually copy save files between players. Free, but fiddly and easy to corrupt or overwrite.
  • Use a save-sync tool that shares the save and lets any group member host next. Less manual work.

We ended up building a tool for the third option (SaveSync), but honestly any of these work depending on how much setup you want to deal with. The main thing is: you do not have to be stuck waiting on one host.

Happy to answer questions on save locations or host migration for specific games if anyone is fighting this right now.

Can't play your Soulmask world when the host is offline? We built a fix

Hey r/Soulmask,

My friend and I are the team behind SaveSync, a tool that syncs co-op world saves between players so anyone can pick up and host without a dedicated server.

The problem we kept hitting: You're mid-tribe in Soulmask - tribesmen trained, mask powers unlocked, base finally defendable - and the host can't get on. Everyone else just waits, or starts a side run that fragments the group.

We hit this wall ourselves in Schedule 1. One of us was sick at home, the other stuck at work, save locked on the host's machine. So we built SaveSync, first just for ourselves. Turned out every co-op survival has a version of this problem, Soulmask included.

How it works: SaveSync auto-syncs your Soulmask world save to the cloud after each session. When your friend wants to play, they pull the latest save and host it themselves. No dedicated server, no monthly fees, no manual file swapping. Full history of every save with timestamps so you can roll back if a raid goes badly.

What players have said:

"Not having to rent or manage a private server is a huge plus especially if you just want to jump in and play without extra hassle or costs." - Steam review, 1,122 hours played

"This is a must if you are playing with a friend and want to play on that world but they are offline - this fixes that. No subscription and you just need to upload that save and they can play it with their saved data, it's that easy." - Steam review, 149 hours played

SaveSync supports Soulmask plus 30+ other co-op games including Valheim, Stardew Valley, Terraria, Minecraft (Java + modded), Don't Starve Together, Enshrouded, Core Keeper, Project Zomboid, Satisfactory, Palworld, Vintage Story, ICARUS, Necesse, The Planet Crafter, Abiotic Factor, and more.
