Where to Find Wedding Cake Tasting Boxes in GTA
Which places in the GTA offer a box of different cakes & frosting that you can take home to try. Let me know what you paid and did you get your cake from there?

Brides who did faux flowers for majority of their arrangements, how did you go about it?
I’ve seen people go a few different ways
A) Buying a bunch of different faux flowers and putting the center pieces together
B) Getting someone to do it for you
C) Renting them
I plan to do all the bouquets as real flowers but want to create my own arch, sweetheart table arrangement, centrepieces, etc. I’m just lost at to where to even start.
Hi everyone! I’m getting married next year at Ancaster Mill and am in the process of looking for both photography and videography.
My photography style and what I’m looking for:
- editorial
- candid
- good with light work / symmetry
- someone who will be good at guiding us into beautiful poses but also capture organic moments too
- two photographers for about 10 hours
- also looking for an engagement session
As for video
- nothing too edited
- highlights/speeches/ceremony
- love the way film looks
Ideally the budget for both I’d like to spend no more than 7k.
I want to get my fiancé a new acoustic for his birthday, his old guitar broke a while back and he hasn’t replaced it yet but says he misses playing. I want to surprise him with something nice, maximum $300. Let me know your recommendations and why.
Update: Thank you everyone for the recommendations! I think many of you made a good point that all guitars sound and feel different and it’s a more personal thing choosing one. I’m going to go to the store with him to see what he likes and buy it for him :)
Spending the night in Kingston and looking for a place with some good eats. Any restaurant recommendations, no chains preferably.
I have my first dress shopping appointment at the end of August and I want to find some good shape wear that won’t roll down or be super uncomfortable as well as a good strapless bra (or a sticky bra). I’m a plus size girl, normally wearing something between a 2x-3x and a 46DD
I’ve heard good things about skims and honey love but would love to get some real reviews of what your plus size favourites are!
What did you wear to your wedding dress appointments?
My upstairs neighbour and my partner and I share a house. We all moved in almost 2 years ago around the same time. The people upstairs consists of a family of 6, with 4 young children, while it’s just my partner and I in the basement unit. Our tenancy agreement is that they pay 75% utilities and we pay 25% as we are two working adults/students who obviously won’t be doing more laundry, showering, cooking, etc.
For the last 2 years there’s been a multitude of issues:
\- When we first moved in, sometimes we would have to do laundry outside of the cheapest hours (again, my partner is blue collar and works long hours and I am in school full time and work part time) we are not always energized enough or have the time to do our laundry in the evenings or weekends. They mentioned to my partner that laundry is cheaper at specific hours and he said okay. A few weeks later maybe, I’m running some laundry around 11am or early afternoon and get a knock on my door and once again being told when it’s cheaper. I explained our situation. I would say 90% of the time we do our laundry during the cheapest hours anyways. So this was already a bad interaction.
\- There’s consistent nightly banging upstairs, and specifically directly above our room. I know their kids bedroom is right above us. It is not light movement or regular creaking of the house, but sounds as if there’s a weighted ball being thrown on the ground over and over, which vibrates our entire room. We keep a fan on high to drown out the smaller noises which is fine, but loud banging, running around and screaming from the hours of 11pm-3am at times every single week and on weekdays is ridiculous.
\- Last year we issued a complaint to our landlord after we repeatedly banged on the ceiling to tell them to stop and mentioning it to them multiple times. Our landlord issues a written warning that they need to keep it down after 11pm. It’s been a year since that and they have not maintained that consistently.
\- Their children look into our kitchen window when they are outside and when my cats sit on the window sill they sit in front of it and tap on the window repeatedly. The kitchen window is difficult for me to get to so I was never able to open it and say stop. A few weeks ago these kids went into the backyard and to our back living room window and started tapping on it for my cats. This is in the evening on a weekday as well. That time I opened the window told them to stop and shut it again.
\- Early March of this year, they asked if they could use our wifi for a day, making it seem as if theirs is down and it would be a short term thing. I provided my wifi password for them, around the end of June I had a feeling that they were still using our wifi since it’s been a lot slower to download things. I ended up changing the wifi password and a few days later they ask my partner if we would be interested in splitting the wifi, in which my partner said we will see. I did not want to share anything else with them at this point so we just didn’t get back to them. A few days pass and I get called by them 4 times within the hour while I’m at work. I text them to text my partner if it’s urgent as I cannot answer, in which they told me it wasn’t and to let them know when I’m home. My partner messaged them and said our wifi is not strong enough to support all of us and sorry. They did not respond at all.
There’s many other things I could say but this is a lot of the major parts. Has anyone else had to deal with this intrusive crap. We can’t even sleep or enjoy living here. What else can we do?

Hey guys, I currently just binged love island season 8 on prime video through my crave subscription. I only have up to episode 17 on my account (no aftersun or anything). Anyone else watching it on crave, are there more episodes posted than this?
Hi all, I just came across Erin Estates and absolutely fell in love with it. I’d love to hear the experiences of those who held their wedding here, attended a wedding, or was hired to go there!
After months of looking at venues in the GTA, my fiance and I are having a hard time choosing what feels right. Our wedding is planned to be around 45-55 people, but many of the venues we do like have a minimum of 50 or so people. It’s come to the point that we are struggling to find people to invite to just meet this quota. My fiance and I are pretty private people, and although we love our families we aren’t the closest with anyone besides our immediate family members. Venues alone (food included and typical things that come with it) is going to be around 17k already.
My fiance and I moved and lived in Banff when we were a new couple, last September we went back and got engaged. The Rockies feel very at home for us and has played such a huge role in our lives. I started looking into elopement and the prices are actually great, you get a photographer, hair and makeup, and a bouquet. We can bring up to 10 guests with us which seems perfect to fit the people we really care about. Even with flight costs, accommodations/transportation, and the elopement itself could be 15k and that’s it.
Has anyone done the Banff elopement or any other Canadian elopement, I would love to hear your feedback and experiences. Do you regret not doing a traditional wedding?
Anyone who had their wedding at Ancaster Mill, how did you choose your mains? Were you able to pick from their restaurant menu? Also, what did you go with?

Call me crazy but I just had a croissant at the Mandarin and it was so buttery and flakey. I highly doubt they are baking up artisanal pastries in the kitchen so I want to know what croissants are they buying. If anyone has worked at a Mandarin or knows please tell me.
Hi everyone! So my fiance and I are planning for an August 2027 wedding and are soon going to be touring venues for booking. We’ve pretty much looked at every (or at least feels like it) non-banquet venue in the GTA.
Some personal favourites so far (so you can get the vibe):
- Glen Erin Inn
- Ancaster Mill
- Cambridge Mill
Our wedding is going to be on the smaller side, about 40-50 people. And our budget is between 30-40k all in all. Ancaster Mill is gorgeous but alone it’s eating up 20k of my budget which I don’t love. Same with Cambridge and the other pearle hospitality venues.
I was really set on Glen Erin Inn when I first found it, but after hearing multiple bad reviews on the food I was left more worried than anything. I wanted to keep them on my list and speak to them at the Canada Bridal Show that happened in January earlier this year, but when I found their booth the were literally the only ones with no decor (not even a carpet for the floor or good draping like all the other vendors there. They only had a table with pamphlets on them, this turned me off even further from this venue because if they didn’t even decorate for their booth to advertise themselves then how is my wedding day going to go? Not to mention this was hours into the convention, and we had actually walked right past them the first time because it was that lacklustre. I did have someone tell me they did their bridal shower and attended the bridal shower of others who hosted it there and apparently it was really good.
Does anyone 1) Have personal experience with the Glen Erin Inn: tell me what you liked/disliked, how big was your wedding, how was the food, etc. and 2) Have any suggestions that may fit the vibe of the venues I listen above and can accommodate my budget.
