Tiny peeve

I really wish we could craft in certain menus. Like in Happy Homeroom or on Gulliver's Ship. I hate having to constantly back out of those menus just to craft 😭

How do you make elements in a drawing feel as though they're under the same lighting?

I really wasn't sure where to find info on this, because I don't know how to properly phrase the question. But often times when I'm painting (digitally), it feels like everything has it own light source. I usually try to rectify this by adding a gradient map, but something usually feels off and I don't know how to fix it. Any suggestions? I can try to clarify more if my question is a bit confusing.

I don’t like joining activities unless I’m invited. Is this selfish?

Since grade school (I’m 30 now), I’ve known people who I thought were my friends but our friendship didn’t extend outside of class.
It sucked seeing them hanging out and doing fun things together. Whenever I brought it up there was always some shallow excuse as to why they never asked. Because of this, I’ve had the mindset that if I wasn’t invited, I won’t ask to join, even if it hurts my feelings. It does have a longstanding effect on my self esteem though.

However, this backfired lately. I had blown something up bigger than it needed to be. I have a group of friends that work off the idea that you can just join in when they’re playing games. No invites needed. But very often i’d see them playing group games in discord and despite it being a game we said we’d play together on occasion (this is why I bought it). But none of them ever made the conscious effort to invite me several times after (including my husband who is a part of this group as well).

I instead isolated myself and eventually blew up at my husband (which wasn’t fair) but I was hurt because I hated feeling as though I constantly have to insert myself into activities to be a part of them. For once I wanted to be considered, even though the group generally works off a “anyone can join” mentality. I feel very selfish for thinking this way and I apologized for my outburst. But I wanted to know if this is truly selfish and how others navigate it?

“Play aggressively” is not working for me

I’m several hours into Total War 3, I gave up on Daemon prince about 20hrs in and I’m playing the Changeling now. I’ve been told that I need to be aggressive and never slow down. But It’s feels so impossible when most of the AI armies have 20cap armies and full garrisons before turn 10.

As Changeling, I can only build up an army of blue horrors and chaos furies but they’re losing to the army in Wurtbad which is so embarrassing since it’s the very first enemy I’m directed to. Please don’t say “Git Gud”, because I have been making the effort to watch videos, and learn unit counters. I play on normal and will not lower the difficulty, because when I tried it before I didn’t learn a thing. Idk if I just genuinely suck because I cant cheese the NPCs.

Question about Total War and Warhammer Fantasy

Hello! I've recently delved into the world of Total War, which I would've never expected at the age of 30. I saw a friend playing and he explained it was sorta like "Fantasy Warhammer". Since I'm more drawn to fantasy themes, I decided to give it a shot and I'm hooked.

Now I know there are a bunch of titles, but I'm very much interested in delving deeper into the lore for fantasy specifically (Not 40k just yet). However, I just found out there is an actual Warhammer Fantasy, that was apparently discontinued at some point? Would anyone be able to explain the differences between the two?

Is this mold? The expiration dates isn’t until August, and it’s been refrigerated.

What’s the white stuff at the top left? I can’t really tell and I literally just got done with groceries. 😭 I just wanted to make breakfast lol

Starting AOE4, coming from Dune Spice Wars

My first RTS was Dune: Spice Wars, and I have only played against the AI. I didn’t play it “fast”, and it felt mostly like roleplaying, which I really enjoy.
However, my friends wanted to get into Age of Empires 4 and it was fun at first. But as I start to understand what build orders are, and try to memorize macro keys, it’s starting to feel extremely overwhelming. How do most of you learn to adapt? I’ve seen some people mention live coaching, but that’s a bit extensive and I’d prefer not to do that.

Think I'm burning out at 29hrs

The game itself is a lot of fun, and I have no problem setting my own goals. But I'm finding the grind to be a bit tedious for a single player game. I spend most of my time training skills, then looting bodies to make cats for food. I recruited two folks from a bar, but now I have to continue this loop with two other characters and from scratch since one of the recruits are all 1 in stats. Is the early game loop just expected to be like this?

I hate the guilt of avoiding things that I need to do. If it isn't the mental need for a short term reward, it's the perfectionist tendencies that hold me back from doing things I genuinely enjoy. It feels even worse because I'm medicated (vyvanse), and I'll find myself fixating on everything aside from the thing I need to do.

I've been working with my therapist, but I always forget about the things we worked on when I'm actually in a situation. Then I end up in the researching loop, because for some reason I think there's some groundbreaking answer out there that I haven't discovered instead of just implementing what I learned. I just wish I didn't always feel like a child dragging their feet to do chores.

I posted a few hours ago because I’m new to the game and was confused about the sandbox aspect since I wanted to play as a pacifist trader but kept dying 🥲

I’ve finally started to gain a better understanding of how stats work, and now my trader can outrun most NPCs! It’s been a bit of a slow start but I managed to save enough for a small shack, counter, and research table.

My character and her bull companion are borderline malnourished, impoverished, and have zero merchandise to sell, but I’m looking forward to the potential of this play through. I’m already thinking about other possible routes. My only wish would be an in-game character bio that I could update as my character grows
