Should I leave it up to him to reschedule?

I’ve been talking to a really hot guy who is 24M, I’m 21F. We arranged a date that we had both agreed to, until I had to prompt him so much that he ended up cancelling for his dad’s game. We were also scheduled to have a phone call this evening or tomorrow evening. I can’t be asked to remind him of that either. He’s so adamant that he’s looking for a LTR but recently his actions show otherwise. He seems apologetic but I don’t like being pen pals, if he doesn’t reschedule something soon, I will probably cut him off. He has some behaviour that is maybe a little red-flaggish aside from this but im trying to give him the B.O.T.D

Wanting to take a year out to do an “out of attendance resit” and work

I received my 2nd year results, instead of risking being thrown off the course during the August resits, I would sit them next year with the new 2nd years but not going to uni (so wouldn’t have to pay tuition and maintenance). I have had a rough 2nd year with poor MH, suffering from an ED and the second year house curse.

The annoying thing is that I was one mark off passing in two of my exams and 15 marks off in an oral exam ( which I know where I went wrong and where to focus revision ) . I have a domiciliary care job and pharmacy job lined up.

Ultimately, I have discussed both options with my tutor and parents and they’re in agreement with whatever I feel comfortable doing. It’s clear that my revision method isn’t as effective as I thought, though for clinical knowledge it is ( my strongpoint).

I think a mid-degree-break will be beneficial to me. I know 3rd and 4th year will be a lot so I just want to make sure I am ready to buckle down for the ride.

Also trying to navigate being on beta-blockers PRN and my antidepressants. My dad has locked them away and I have had so many brain zaps which affects my memory and cognitive function. This would happen every time I return home for the break. I’ve had to get an emergency prescription.

But yes, sorry for rambling, essentially taking time off for self-work before returning to the degree. I’ll be studying a lot as I already have the materials and meetings with my module convenors scheduled.

Give me tips for owning and looking after my first car as a girl ( dummy edition ) ?

I have asked ChatGPT:
Legal requirements
✅ Valid driving licence
✅ Car insurance
✅ Vehicle tax (done online)
✅ MOT certificate (if the car is over 3 years old)
You don’t legally have to carry your licence or insurance documents while driving, but it’s useful to have digital copies.
Safety kit
First aid kit
High-vis vest
Torch
Warning triangle (don’t use it on the motorway—it’s safer to stay behind the barrier if you break down there)
Blanket
Phone charger
Breakdown kit
Portable tyre inflator
Tyre pressure gauge
Jump starter (better than jump leads if you’re on your own)
Tow rope (optional)
Gloves
Reflective rain jacket
Your boot toolbox
I’d recommend keeping:
3/8” socket set
Ratchet and extension
Metric spanners (8–19 mm)
Screwdrivers
Pliers
Adjustable wrench
Torx bits
Allen keys
Utility knife
Electrical tape
Duct tape
Zip ties
Spare fuses
Multitool
Microfibre cloths
Store it in a plastic toolbox or organiser so it doesn’t slide around the boot.
Useful extras
Windscreen washer fluid
Ice scraper and de-icer (winter)
Dash cam
USB charging cable
Shopping bags
Umbrella
My top 5 purchases for a first car
Lithium jump starter (£50–£100)
12V tyre inflator (£25–£50)
Halfords Advanced or Draper tool kit (£60–£120)
Dash cam (£70–£150)
First aid kit (£10–£20)

When purchasing my first car, since my Dad doesn’t drive ( in the city I’m buying a car from ), I don’t know who to bring with me when viewing cars and how to check there’s no hidden issues/cost that will arise with the car

Any tips for managing anxiety?

I’ve just had to cancel my second test 4 days before bc my instructor doesn’t think I’m ready so I’ve lost out on £62 but that’s okay. I just need help or advice on managing my anxiety and coping mechanisms. I cried in today’s lesson and I feel so incapable of driving although she thinks I’ll be ready in two weeks time. I have a new test booked for Nov 11th and will try and get a cancellation. I feel like getting my license is at an arms length and that I will never get it. I know it takes time and that I need to be patient but I am close to giving up.

Second test next week and new instructor is saying I’m not checking my mirrors/blindspots

😂😭I literally am! In my first test, I did not get any driving faults for observations . I don’t know how to make it any clearer that I am checking my mirrors ( my hair is tied up and I wore dangly earrings) - What more can I do? I think I will try commentary driving in the next successive lessons and I pray that it helps - I also want to try it in my test but don’t know if I will be rambling too much but I guess it’s better safe than sorry.

Financing vs outright for first car?

As the title suggests, any tips? I’ll most likely be buying outright as I don’t want added interest. Although I can’t find any cars cheaper than £2000 which is what people are suggesting for my first ever car?

Readjusting to a petrol car from a diesel car

Hi guys, at the start of my driving journey, I was learning petrol until I left my instructor because he said I wasn’t test ready and was wanting to drastically increase his prices, found a new one who had a diesel car, he deemed I wasn’t test ready test ready but I had one serious fault for response to traffic lights. Managed to get a second test for the following month which is now quickly approaching, I am a little nervous as I feel that I will stall more in a petrol lol even if I have it at the right revs. My clutch control is pretty good and I didn’t get any driving faults for that in the previous test but then again the engine has more torque so it wasn’t really an issue at all. Also the new test area is very hilly so I am an adamant in making it tip-top!

Tips on landing a job a as Dispenser as someone entering 3rd year?

I stupidly turned down an offer last year, almost every time I apply to the ones in my home city, I get offered an interview at least ( which is full of students too ) but in my uni city, I always get rejected, I don’t know if they’re looking for a specific sort of person or.

Looking for instructor to take me to a test at the end of the month and do an intensive course

I thought I had found an instructor but he is being wishy-washy so need to open up my options. Manual lessons are required and I’m looking for about 10 hours of intensive driving at a budget between (£400-600)

Aiming for a first class

Currently in 2nd year uni which is worth 20% whilst 3rd and 4th year are both worth 40%

Is it possible to still do incredibly well after having sort of bombed 2nd year with 2:1s here and there?

How do you keep your yarn from getting tangled?……..

Every time I start a new project or frog, it gets tangled, I’ve seen a device that untangles the yarn or prevents it from getting tangled/knotted but I don’t know what it’s called. Any advice is much appreciated.

Anyone hiring in/around Beeston & City Centre?

I’m a student and I’m here more often than not yet have not managed to find a job whilst being here. I’ve exhausted all my options on Indeed and LinkedIn and I won’t lie it seems over competitive. I know this is a frustrating situation for majority of the UK but I am coming up to nearly 2 years unemployed and my loan is unlivable and can only support me for so much. I have done odd jobs here and there but I’m looking for something more secure. I’ve also had job companies/ dodgy employers try to scam me. I’ve had career appointments and attended CV workshops so I don’t know why I can’t seem to get hired or ghosted by employers.

Any tips for Exeter Test centre?

I have a test there after recently failing my test in Nottingham Colwick, I reside in Exeter but go to Notts for Uni.

All advice welcome and appreciated.

My fail prior was for response to traffic lights and stopping just over the stop line.
