Playing For Charity?

I’m thinking of doing some busking for charity in the future. I just want to have a rule of thumb/feel for how people divide their money, what charity(ies) they donate to, and other stuff. Rn I’d want to donate to different drum corps because A) it’s something I enjoy and B) they can use the money for tour costs. Do yall think I have a good pick for organizations and how much of your money do you give out?

Was bored and went through some old family photos and found some 2013 Allentown Lot Pics

Pic #1: Phantom branded Horse and Buggy (for some reason)

Pic #2: Carolina Crown Practice (if anyone can confirm, please do)

Pic #3: Unknown Corps Practice. Data from image file says the photo was taken on July 31st 2013 @ 12:26pm. If anyone could ID who’s practicing that would be awesome

Thoughts on my sign?

Here’s my sign. It’s made out of 2 box flaps so that it can fold up and be small enough to go into my guitar case for storage/transport. Here’s the QR code link for those who want to see where the code takes people. What are y’all’s thoughts on it?

Should I have a ‘Now Playing’ Sign?

I play guitar and I don’t sing because I’m too scared to do so. With that, I feel like people won’t recognize the songs I’m playing, and in turn, won’t be able to play/sing with what I’m playing (I allow people to sing or play along). Should I have a whiteboard with the title and artist of the song I’m playing, or will I be fine without the sign?

Just got back from my first time busking :)

I played in my town’s square for a little bit, then moved up the street to a nearby restaurant (where I made all my money, minus $3). Played for around 2 hours in all. It was fun, will do again.

Wanting to get into Busking

I’m interested in possibly getting into busking for fun. The screenshots are my repertoire. I’d be playing acoustic guitar (possibly with a friend if they’re up to it). What are everyone’s thoughts on the rep so far and is there anything I should know before I go out for the first time?

Thoughts on the Lumix G100?

Does anyone own a Lumix G100? If so, how is it, can you drop any pics and/or video you’ve taken with it? I’m thinking of getting one myself and want to see what people say about it.

It’s weird how many people have heard Ween, but never noticed it was them.

I’ve asked people if they’ve ever heard of Ween. They usually say no, but when I explain to them either the credits song from the ‘04 SpongeBob movie or another song from the series, it then clicks for them that they have heard Ween. It’s interesting how many people know Ween, but haven’t noticed it.

Child listener missing their caregiver (mom(my)/dad(dy) idea

I thought up this idea for a script, here’s the main points

- Main Plot: First Day of school and the listener starts feeling homesick and misses their caregiver(s)/parent(s) \[speaker or collab\]. The teacher (speaker) sees them and comforts them and calls the listener’s parent(s)/caregiver(s) so they can hear their voice. They might get some other stuff and then they go back to class and have a good rest of the day.

- Gender: A4A
- Child Listener (pre-k or kindergarten age)
- teacher and/or parent/caregiver Speaker (possible collab)
- time: first day of school

Room Sounds Used In Audios

I’ve thought about this for those who actually voice scripts. I’ve thought that instead of using stock sounds, using the sounds of your room would be good if the script calls for those sounds. For example, if a script calls for TV sounds, use your own TV. I think this would add some interesting realism to an audio. What are everyone’s thoughts on this idea? Am I just stating a practice that’s already been in use?
