My surprisingly great Air India business class experience ✈️

With everything going on with Air India right now, it’s honestly hard to find a positive review, so I wanted to share my experience.

I travelled from Mumbai → Delhi → Tokyo Haneda in Air India business class in November 2025. The Mumbai–Delhi sector was economy, but even at the Mumbai check-in counter, they tagged my luggage as business class. My baggage allowance was actually lower on the first sector and higher on the Delhi–Tokyo sector, but they still happily accepted all 3 bags without any issue.

The real stress started because I had only 1 hour 45 minutes between my flights at Delhi, and the first flight was delayed by around 20 minutes. My heart was sinking thinking about the connection.

But the moment we landed, there was an Air India transit agent waiting for us who took us directly through transit. We quickly stopped at the lounge, and then a buggy dropped us straight at the gate. The entire process was incredibly smooth and stress-free.

Then came the long Delhi–Tokyo flight. I was honestly quite anxious about safety, especially given how long the flight was. But after takeoff, I literally slept like a baby. Not even a single moment of turbulence, and the overall flight was genuinely one of the best long-haul experiences I’ve had.

I’ve travelled to 25+ countries and flown with many airlines, including Singapore Airlines, so I’m not someone who has limited flying experience. But the anxiety before such a long flight was very real.

And now, with my Europe trip coming up next month and everything that has happened recently, I’m already feeling that long-flight anxiety again. 😅

For those who have flown Air India recently — how are you dealing with the stress? Has your experience been good lately? I’d genuinely love to hear some positive experiences because I need some reassurance before my next long-haul flight! ❤️✈️

Italy itinerary — 15–26 September : Looking for practical feedback

Hi everyone! My husband and I are visiting Italy from 15–26 September. I know this is a very packed itinerary, but we genuinely enjoy fast-paced travel, early mornings, taxis/Ubers and covering a lot in one trip. We’re comfortable with the pace and would rather see more than leave places for a future trip.

I’ve already planned the itinerary below and am not looking for someone to create an itinerary, arrange bookings, or recommend tour operators. I’d just love practical feedback on the sequencing and any obvious changes you would make.

15 Sept — Naples → Positano

Arrive at Naples Airport around 10 AM

Taxi to Positano

Check into our Airbnb

Pick up pizza and have lunch on our Airbnb balcony

Rest for a little while

Sunset cruise in the evening

16 Sept — Positano / Amalfi Coast

Relax at the beach

Fiat experience around Amalfi Coast

17 Sept — Positano → Rome

Check out and travel to Rome

Drop bags at Airbnb

Colosseum

Aventine Keyhole

Back to Airbnb

Evening: Crazy Pizza + Piazza Trilussa / live music

18 Sept — Vatican + Rome

Vatican visit at 8 AM

Evening at Castel Sant'Angelo around sunset

19 Sept — Central Rome

Planning to visit:

Trevi Fountain

Pantheon

Spanish Steps

Villa Borghese

Other nearby sights depending on energy

20 Sept — Rome → Florence

After checking in:

Duomo area

Uffizi Gallery

Wine window experience

21 Sept — Florence → Venice day trip

I know this is ambitious 😄, but we really want to see Venice on this trip.

Early morning departure

Mainly exploring, eating and experiencing Venice

Gondola ride

Return to Florence the same evening

22 Sept — Florence / Tuscany

Pisa

Wine experience in the afternoon/evening

23 Sept — Florence → Milan

After checking in:

Lunch

Duomo area

Duomo Cathedral

24 Sept — Lake Como

Train to Varenna

Spend the day exploring Varenna and the Lake Como area

Return to Milan

25 Sept — Verona

Full-day trip from Milan

Explore Verona

Return to Milan

26 Sept — Milan

Check out around 10 AM

Flight at 9 PM

We have most of the day available before heading to the airport.

A few things I’d love advice on:

Looking at the itinerary as a whole, is there any particular day you would rearrange because the order doesn't make sense or we're unnecessarily doubling back?

For 26 September, what would you recommend doing between checkout at 10 AM and our 9 PM flight, considering we’ll have luggage with us?

Any practical tips for making this itinerary smoother that I may be overlooking?

I’d also appreciate a few local restaurant recommendations around the specific areas we’ll already be visiting, rather than generic “best restaurants in Italy” suggestions.

I know it’s a lot 😅 but we’re genuinely happy with a packed schedule and spending on taxis/Ubers when it saves time. We’re not looking for a slower itinerary — just hoping to make this particular plan as efficient as possible.

Thanks!

Singapore VFTF eligibility with Japan visa + separate PNR (Indian passport)

I’m an Indian passport holder and wanted to confirm my eligibility for Singapore’s Visa-Free Transit Facility (VFTF). I’ve checked official sources but still a bit unsure, so would really appreciate help from anyone with experience.

My situation:

I hold a valid 5-year multiple-entry Japan visa (already used once)

Travel route: Manila → Singapore → Mumbai

Flight 1: SQ 913 (Manila to Singapore) – 13 Nov, arrives 4:40 PM

Flight 2: SQ 510 (Singapore to Mumbai) – 15 Nov, departs 8:00 PM

Total stay in Singapore: ~2 nights (~50 hours, within 96 hrs)

Both flights are on separate PNRs

My questions:

Am I eligible for VFTF in this case?

Does having separate PNRs cause any issue at immigration or airline check-in?

Has anyone done a similar transit (Philippines → Singapore → India) using a Japan visa?

All flights and hotels are fully paid, and I’ll have sufficient funds + credit cards.

Would really appreciate if someone who has done this or knows the rules can guide 🙏

Thanks in advance!

Booked award flights of air india through krisflyer

So I have booked 2 economy tickets milan to delhi from krisflyer of their partner airline air india. Now I want to upgrade to business by paying but they say award flights are not eligible for upgrades. Does anyone have any experience on upgrading award / redemption flight. What are my chances that on the counter I can get an upgrade?

Italy visa application

Called vfs to check if they are aware normally how much time it takes to get back the passport and the way they answered I felt instead of calling them i should have banged my head on wall that would have been easier. Because I knew more than what they told on call . God save us

2 Days in positano pls help me with itinerary

Back story landing at naples on 15 Sept taking a taxi to positano and checking in. My Airbnb has 0 steps as I almost sold my kidneys to book it. It's just opposite the hotel Poseidon positano. Not keeping it heavy just trying to do a minimum while enjoying the view.

What would you do in a different way to improve my itinerary

15 September 12:30-1:00 pm check in after check in go for lunch at da Vincenzo (it's just 100m from my airbnb that's 1 minute)

Then come and rest for sometime in Airbnb.

15 Sept evening 6 pm sunset cruise followed by dinner at airbnb only will order take away.

16 Sept morning 7 am go to beach for some photography and delicatessen for the famous positano pics.

Afternoon fiat tour of amalfi

Evening dinner pls recommend place.

Now my queries

  1. Anything u would suggest me to change in it? Also we decided not to do capri and amalfi as already our overall trip is too hectic so wanted to keep it slow .

  2. Is the fiat tour worth it I know it's too touristy but still we choose to do? Any experience on it.

  3. Pls recommend some Good restaurants with view also pls don't suggest too expensive one because the same view we have in our Airbnb for which we already sold our kidneys 🤣.

A bit of back story flying from nice so we have a short flight only which won't cause tiredness I guess.

Guys pls help
