Best Buffet in Jakarta?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for the best all-you-can-eat buffet in Jakarta. Ideally, it should have a big selection across different cuisines while still offering good quality rather than just quantity.

Thanks in advance!🙏🏻

Bose or apple?

I’ve always used AirPods and was very happy with them. I’m currently using an iPhone 17 and about a year ago I decided to try something different and switched to the Bose QC Ultra 2 Earbuds.

The sound quality was great, but I had constant connectivity issues from day one. Random disconnects, one earbud losing connection, Now, after not even a year, one side has completely died.

The retailer refunded me the full purchase price, so now I’m deciding what to buy next.

My first thought is to just go back to the AirPods Pro 3. For those of you who have them, how would you compare the 2?

Would you choose the AirPods Pro 3 over the Bose QC Ultra Earbuds if you’re already in the Apple ecosystem?

Curious to hear your experiences.

How can attachment-based parenting principles be applied in residential child and youth care?

Heey everyone

I’m a 25-year-old childcare professional from Switzerland and have been working in residential child and youth care for the past four years & 7 overall with Children. I work in a group home with six children and adolescents (ages 8–15) who come with very different backgrounds and challenges.

Lately, I’ve been reading books by Naomi Aldort and Gordon Neufeld, and they’ve left me with a question that I can’t seem to find much literature on.

Most attachment-based or relationship-focused approaches are written for parents and families. But how do you apply these same principles in a residential setting? We deal with shift work, changing caregivers, professional boundaries, institutional structures, and the fact that we can’t build relationships in the same way parents do.

I’m not necessarily looking for one specific method or framework. Rather, I’m interested in any books, articles, research, experiences, or authors that explore how relationship-based, attachment-informed, or compassionate approaches can be integrated into residential child and youth care.

Has anyone come across resources or ideas that address this? Or maybe you’re working in the field yourself and have found ways to bridge this gap?

I’d really appreciate any recommendations or thoughts. Thank you!

Hey everyone,

A friend of mine recently got into a 3a solution with Helvetia and I’d love to get some outside perspectives.

Important:

This is not a life insurance product, just a “regular” 3a savings solution through Helvetia (at least that’s how it’s presented).

He had a call today with his insurance advisor and a few things stood out:

He claimed there are basically no fees affecting the final outcome, only around 0.10% (CH fund) and 0.18% (global fund)

When asked what happens if my friend becomes unemployed:

- from year 2, he can pause for 1 year, and afterwards the account just gets “frozen” (no loss supposedly)

Overall, the whole thing felt very… polished. Like a lot of reassurance, but not much detail.

To be honest, it felt like the usual “everything is great, no downside” kind of pitch.

My concern:

From what I understand, insurance-based 3a solutions often have:

hidden costs (distribution / admin / risk components)

less flexibility compared to bank solutions

lower net returns over the long term

My advice to him so far:

I told him to at least compare it with something like

VIAC or Frankly before committing long term.

Questions for you:

What are the typical “hidden” downsides in these Helvetia 3a setups?

Is it realistic that the total cost is really just ~0.1–0.2%?

What should he specifically watch out for in the fine print?

Would really appreciate some honest insights before he locks himself into something long-term.

Thanks

How do you manage to stand up for yourself in a conscious way, especially when it comes to supervisors?

I’ve noticed that with coworkers I see as equals, I have no problem expressing my thoughts and standing my ground. But as soon as I’m facing someone I perceive as “higher” (like a manager), a part of me becomes very hesitant and anxious. That often holds me back from speaking up or expressing what I actually think.

I’m curious how others navigate this, both practically and on a deeper, inner level.

Edit: I’m not being treated poorly at all, my supervisors are actually very kind. And still, I notice this pattern in myself.
