Insurance denied stress echo

Hi. Just ranting.

I’ve been waiting WEEKS for this appointment. It was supposed to be tomorrow, but I just got a call saying state insurance denied my stress echo so they have to cancel my appointment, but they’re going to continue working with the doctor who ordered it so we can hopefully reschedule. I’m so angry and sad. I really needed this, especially for peace of mind.

Has anyone ever had something like this denied? Did your doctor do something different to get it approved? How long did it take?

Dysautonomia-like symptoms

Hi. I’m 6 months postpartum and for the past two months I’ve really been struggling with dysautonomia-like symptoms.

• high and low bp (along w/ narrow pulse pressure)
• dizziness
• cold hands and feet
• very tired (need naps lately)
• higher than normal heart rate when up and walking
• anxiety
• palpitations
• trouble falling and staying asleep

I’m sure there’s more I’m missing, but.. I’m wondering if anyone has gone through this and it got better as time went on?

I’ve had every lab work done under the sun — everything is great and optimal, including ferritin at 147, hemoglobin at 13. Vitamin D is low at 34, but I’ve started supplementing a few days ago along with magnesium and potassium.

Also, I’m not breastfeeding anymore as of May.

Narrow pulse pressure

Has anyone figured out how to fix a narrow pulse pressure?

Mine is usually 94/77, anywhere around there (range from 12-25 difference) but I cannot get my systolic to go above 100. I’ve tried compressions, extra sodium, lots of water and electrolytes— nothing helps and I feel kinda crummy. Just lightheaded and tired.

Similar experiences?

29F, 5’5 and 152lbs, 6 months postpartum.

2 months ago, I was walking 3-5 miles a day. But then one day I woke up and I couldn’t do anything without feeling out of breath or my heart rate spiking.

I’ve been to the ER multiple times- ekg, chest x-ray and blood work came back normal. I can’t figure it out. I’ve had my pcp check vitamins and iron— everything is great. I had endo check hormones— everything is great as well.

My resting bp is normal (115/64 for example) but as soon as I stand, it rises (111/99 for example).

Symptoms:

• Chest heaviness/pressure

• Shortness of breath while standing or with minimal exertion

• Higher than normal heart rate when standing (90’s-100’s) usually low 70’s

• Dizziness

• Panicky feeling

• HR hits 140’s-160’s when trying to go for a walk, with extreme chest heaviness

I want to know what I should ask the doctor as far as getting testing done. I do have a stress echo scheduled for the 19th. But what else should I ask for?

High cholesterol runs in my family- only have had mine checked once several years ago. But my dad and my 19 year old sister have high cholesterol (sister is 5’0, 115lbs)

Potassium between 3.3-3.6

Is it possible to feel so awful with these levels? I’m talking about, high heart rate with exertion, tense/tight muscles, aching legs, anxiety, palpitations, cold extremities, dizziness, higher blood pressure.

I feel like I’m dying.. I can hardly function.

My magnesium is 1.9. I’ve come to learn that majority of people are low and should just supplement no matter what.

I started supplementing both magnesium and potassium. How long after supplementing did your symptoms start to ease?

How to do it right?

Alright, my potassium is 3.3 and magnesium 1.9.

I want to supplement asap because my symptoms are debilitating. Should I focus on getting my magnesium up first or should I just take both magnesium and potassium at the same time? Is there a certain ratio?

Thanks!

Edited to add: I want to know people’s experiences!

How long did it take for your symptoms to start easing up?

What were your symptoms that went away the fastest for you?

How long did you supplement for?

Do you still supplement to avoid another deficiency?

I HATE UNEDUCATED DRS

So, I’ve been feeling awful. Almost every single symptom on the list, ok? Been declining for 2 months and the past two days I am feeling HORRENDOUS.

I go to the ER for the 5th time in 2 months— I ask a PA if my serum magnesium could be making me feel this way and she said, “No, absolutely not. Your levels are great.”

Ha. Comical. Anyway, my potassium came back at 3.3.

I plan on supplementing as soon as I get home (I have leftover magnesium Malate from 2 years ago when I was supplementing vitamin d)

Can I supplement magnesium and potassium at the same time?

** UPDATE— I’ve now been told my potassium levels are normal at 3.3. 😁🙄

Never had an EKG like this before - feeling awful

I’ve been feeling awful for almost 2 months— nobody will take me seriously. I’ve never had an abnormal ekg before.

When I try to fall asleep, my body jolts me awake and I’m really dizzy then my heart starts pounding and racing fast. It’s uncomfortable. My blood pressure has been narrow when standing and now lately, higher than my usual. Not even remotely dangerously high, but high for me and I feel like garbage.

2 months ago I was able to go on 3-5 mile walks with my husband and kids, now I can hardly go around the block and have a difficult time going up and down the stairs or doing anything around our house, really. I’m constantly floating. I cannot take it anymore. I’ve been to the ER 4-5 times in the past month and they all think I’m crazy but not one doctor has done scans or cardiac bloodwork.

I don’t know what to do.. I’m struggling bad. I’m only 29. Also 6 months postpartum.

Possible?

I should note that I am 6 months postpartum -

Is it possible to have normal TSH (2.450 uIU/mL) and normal Free T4 (1.27 ng/dL) yet still have subclinical hypothyroidism?

Range for TSH : 0.450-5.500
Range for Free T4 : 0.82-1.77

Endo won’t order other labs

My symptoms are as follows :

• ice cold hands and feet
• dizziness
• anxiety/adrenaline surges (especially at night)
• tired
• palpitations
• tachycardia
• internal vibrations (shaky)
• narrow pulse pressure (bp low 90’s over low 70’s)
• shortness of breath with exertion along with racing heart

Cardiology won’t help me
PCP won’t help me
Endo won’t help me

They blame it on POTS, but I’ve never had a flare this bad, nor last this long. I feel different and not in a good way. I’ve been feeling like garbage for 2 months now. I can’t take it anymore. Went from walking 3-5 miles a day with my family to pretty much laying around all day because of how awful I feel.

CBC panel is good - waiting back on ferritin

Electrolytes are good - potassium could be a tad higher (3.8) and probably magnesium too, but I’m scared to take it because of the way my BP is already.

Aldosterone is in range at 12.1 ng/dL

Still waiting on renin and metanephrines

Cortisol is in range at 14.8 ug/dL

Magnesium is 1.9 mg/dL

I’m at a loss. Nothing is helping me feel better.

Hopeless and defeated

For almost 2 months now, I’ve been experiencing tachycardia with little movement, dizziness and narrow pulse pressure— this morning, my bp machine wouldn’t even read. I feel like complete garbage. I’ve been to the ER I think 3 or 4 times. The last visit being early/mid July. I’ve been having adrenaline rushes between 11pm-4am so my endo checked my cortisol and all that good stuff— came back good. Still waiting on renin, aldosterone and metanephrine results. Just had my gyno do a cbc and ferritin panel 2 days ago so I should get those results on Monday.

My thing is, no one is taking me seriously. Not even my cardiologist. I have 3 kids (7,4,6mo) to take care of at home and I can’t. I’m so tired and dizzy all the time. 2 months ago, I was going on 3-5 mile walks with my family and now I can hardly shower or move around the house without my heart rate sky rocketing and feeling like garbage and short of breath.

I’ve been wearing compression socks and loading up on sodium to the point where I’m on the verge of throwing up because it makes me so nauseous. Nothing is helping my BP.

I had an echo done the first week of February, had multiple ekgs and they’ve come back normal. I’m at a loss and I am so desperate for help. My husband never sees me cry, but this morning, I walked up to him and he held me and I cried so hard. The hardest I’ve cried in a very long time. I just want to feel normal again and no one will help. 😭😭😭😭

What causes narrow pulse pressure?

I’ve been feeling very crappy for over a month— my standing bp is always 90’s/70’s despite drinking tons of fluid (sodium added because I have POTS) and wearing compression socks. I feel ok when I’m sitting, hence the reason I take my bp when standing, but when I’m up and about, I am just dizzy/floaty constantly. It’s very hard to take care of my children, so anything around the house or go anywhere. I do see my cardiologist tomorrow afternoon, FINALLY. But just wondering if anyone knew what causes this or if you’ve been through the same thing?

Rash for almost 2 months!

Ugh, I am so beside myself. My almost 6 month old has had a bad diaper rash since she was a little over 4 months old— ever since I stopped breast feeding.

We started her on regular enfamil, but she was having diarrhea that caused a bad rash so our doctor wrote a prescription for Nutramigen. She’s been on it for over a month and she is RAW. I’ve taken her in several times and have been prescribed creams for her, to no avail. I had an appointment with my GP (which is also her doctor) and mentioned she still had a rash. He didn’t offer to look or anything— just said “Yeah that’s normal for formula fed babies.” So I asked about switching her formula and he said it wasn’t necessary. I hate him. Currently looking for a new doctor for my entire family because he’s not listening nor has he looked at her rash.

Her poops are not normal. Dark green and runny. Smell like eggs. Has since starting formula.

What formula should I try?? I’m desperate. My baby is in so much pain. I can’t stop crying. 😭😭😭

Huge flair almost 6 months PP.

I was diagnosed with POTS 6 years ago— when my son was 1. I was prescribed all different kinds of medications, but didn’t like them and beta blockers lowered my HR and BP too much. Eventually, I learned how to manage my symptoms on my own and have done fairly well.

NOOOW, I’m almost 6 months postpartum with my 3rd baby and I’m in a huge flair. General unwell feeling, very tachy, shaky, anxiety, adrenaline surges in the middle of the night, shortness of breath— it feels like my body has kicked into overdrive.

Let me note that I have also been on a calorie deficit — small one of 300-400. I have not been drinking enough or have been keeping up on sodium/salt intake and it’s wreaked havoc on my body.

I use pink Himalayan salt in my water, but I think maybe I’m not putting enough in because my bp is still crap, especially while standing, along with my heart rate.

How much salt should I put in my 24oz cup of water?

How much sodium is in pink Himalayan salt? Should I be using a different kind?

In the past, my cardiologist has told me to get an extra 6-8 grams per day. I’m not sure how much that would be in pink salt.

Feeling conflicted about my deficit

Tdee calculator says my maintenance is 1,775 and my BMR is 1,479. I’ve been consuming between 1,400-1,450 but people are saying that’s too low? I’m typically sedentary— go for 1-3 mile walks 2-3 times a week when I have time.

Should I stick closer to 1,500?

How do I get all of my nutrients without going over my calories?

29(F), 5’5, 166lbs- calorie deficit at 1400-1450.

What should my goal be for protein, carbs and fats?

Right now I’m averaging about 33% fat, 39% carbs and 27% protein.

I basically eat eggs, cottage cheese and berries for breakfast— chicken, quinoa rice and some sort of vegetable for lunch and dinner. Sometimes steak. I also incorporate some olive oil, but should probably add more. I want to keep my meals simple. All the extra stuff overwhelms me because of my ADHD.

What should I add or change? I need to get more healthy fats in my diet. The past day or so, I’ve consumed very low fat, probably due to eating only egg whites.

* I’m allergic to avocado suddenly since 2021. My favorite thing I used to snack on.

Am I not doing this right?

29, Female, 5’5 SW: 166.6.

I’ve been on a calorie deficit of roughly 1,624 since May 27th, 2026. Only almost 2 weeks. I don’t always meet my calorie deficit, I’m usually under by 100-300. I did initially end up losing about 4lbs, but I weighed myself today and I am now at 166 even.

Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? I get about 100+ grams of protein a day. I eat fairly healthy. I’m kind of sedentary— only walk 3 miles when I’m able so maybe 2-3 times a week. I haven’t been hydrating as well as I should. I know it’s only been 2 weeks but I’m feeling a bit discouraged because I thought I was doing everything right. The scale says otherwise.

Is this common in the beginning? Has this happened to anyone else? Did you have to change something?

Should I give up the scale and continue to

Dry, but excessively oily skin?

My face is very dry and sensitive and I’m almost positive my barrier is tarnished. It gets tight and extra dry after washing. But by mid day, my face is OILY like no other. I did just realize not long ago that I’m using the way wrong face wash that is drying my face out even more which I’m sure is causing my skin to produce excessive amounts of oil.

Can anyone recommend the best moisturizing face wash and best moisturizing face cream/lotion, as well as SPF? I’m desperate.
