As important as our tools and equipment are, so is our sanity! And thusly, I firmly believe that whatever speaker you use is an important tool. So post your trusty kitchen speakers! I’m curious what other cooks are using to listen to stuff while working, and what you listen to.

Here’s my trusty Anker Soundcore Motion +. Sounds great, gets loud enough, has an awesome battery, and it follows me everywhere I go, not just work. Super durable, waterproof, and sounds really good. I keep it plugged in to a 12 foot cable and it usually lives on top of the stand freezer, or I’ll move it onto a shelf above the soda bibs.

Do yourself a favor next time you’re at a thrift or garage sale, buy a bread machine if you find one cheap. Really enhances the grilled cheese game.

Girlfriend and I checked out a locally owned thrift ran by a local charity. Got a blanket, some clothes, and an alarm clock, lady said $37, and they manually input cards for some reason, so I’m pretty sure she mashed a button or something by accident. My fault partially for not checking the receipt she had me sign 🥴. Called them and I have to wait till the boss lady is in on Tuesday morning, then drive there and work it out in person. Thankfully, they said they’ll reverse the charge and stuff. Hopefully they can just refund me the difference in cash on the spot, money is tight right now, and thrifting is one of the few things we can afford as a “spoil” for ourselves.

When your food rep gives you a sample of cooking oil and you also have a surplus of onions, you get bored on a slow day and make a quart of bourbon balsamic onion jam. Will be eating it on some fresh mozz and maybe making pizza with it for dinner.

Finally decided to try carrying with a full size WML, found this Bravo Concealment G19/17 holster for the TLR-1. Got my trusty RXM/TLR-1 HL combo in there. Fits a bit snug, but it’s easy to draw and reholster. Build quality seems decent, conceals great and is as comfy as any other IWB I’ve tried. Not bad for $30 shipped from eBay.

Girlfriend and I decided to take a little day trip and knock goodsprings off of my bucket list! I used to live in Vegas, so I’ve gone to/seen a bunch of the Vegas side of the game IRL, but not a lot of the other parts. Stopped in searchlight, primm, nipton, and then got lunch at the Pioneer saloon in goodsprings! Saw a lot of other fallout fans who were geeking out too. Everyone was very friendly, the food hit the spot, and the (NA cause I’m sober now) beer I got was ice cold! Definitely worth a day trip if you live in the Mojave like we do. Though I think I’ll make it a camping trip next time and explore the area a bit more thoroughly next time. Was nice to get the heck out of town for a day regardless.
