EY-Financial Services Customer Tax Operations and Reporting - Tax Senior Analyst - EDGE

Can anyone provide any insight on this position?

Is this different than a traditional tax role? More or less hours? Client facing?

Sapphire Lounge Sucks

First time at Sapphire in LGA.

The worst part is the QR code menu.

I prefer the freedom of a self-serve buffet. I walked right out to the Centurion longer next door.

Saw what I could eat, Ate as much as I want, went back for seconds, no waiting for service.

Why would they even consider this over a buffet in an airport setting where everyone’s in a rush?

No Retention Offer

10 year Amex member, 3 year platinum member.

Decent CC utilization and 90% of benefits redeemed.

Chatted and requested for a retention offer. I mentioned that I got the CSR (which I really did) and how their benefits are competitive. Agent said I’m not eligible for a retention offer and asked to close my account. Obvs I said no. She said I’ve benefitted from the benefits. Did I not received a retention offer bc of this?

Any chance I can receive one by a phone call?

Just found out about Bilt…..

Can’t believe I’ve been paying my mortgage for all these years without BILT.

Is it true I can receive points for paying my mortgage (chase).

Any tips?

My experience as a Delta loyalist

It was great!

-Started off with asking for a trading card. Pilot was ecstatic to give me one (even though I disclosed I usually fly on Delta).
-I Flew on the 737, the cabin feels much more roomier than Delta’s 737. The flight was exceptionally smooth and comfortably. WiFi was consistently good.

Now for the cons:
-Delta’s Biscoff is unmatched. AA snacks were subpar even in first class. Sun chips > Doritos
-Not a fan of AA getting rife of IFE screens. I know you can stream on your device but this doesn’t sit right with me. I don’t have a large phone, and if I was traveling with my toddlers, I’m going to need a device for each one. Just a headache. Maybe for short flights alone it’s fine.

Other than that, my rare AA flight was on time and great!

Edit: I guess AA does have biscoff. Will ask for some next time

I’m going to miss this card

Plat cardholder for 3 years and was able to utilize it extensively. I’ve been to the lounges over a dozen times, Exhausted the flight, digital ent, Resy, lulu, saks (RIP), and uber credits every year. Scratched my head with Walmart+ but still somehow got use out of it. Activated every premium membership including national car rental with the executive aisle. And how could I forgot how beautiful the mirror finish is (even tho I mostly tap to pay)

FHR/THC really blew me away esp pairing it with Hilton Gold. Can’t even quantify how much value I received with the room upgrades and daily food credits.

Im not traveling for work anymore so my travel is down to 1-2x round trips per year w family. However, I still get a ton of value outside of travel. It’s going to be a bittersweet moment cancelling it this month. TBH, I’m still contemplating on keeping it.

I did sign up for the CSR for the 150k bonus and I’m not as impressed. Restricted food credit with OpenTable, no delta Skyclub (noooooooooo), DD credits suck (has to be allocated between groceries and food), only appleTV. Only good thing is the unrestricted $300 flight credit. Other than that, amex plat blows it out of the water.

Any tips for a good retention offer? I wouldn’t mind squeezing another year if I can get the AF down even if it’s via points. Or I might just keep this card and downgrade the CSR next year…..

How long after the renewal posts can I cancel the card without paying the full annual fee?

My renewal is coming up on 7/18. I have a flight on 7/26 and plan on cancelling it right after. Do I have a grace period before I have to pay the full fee? 30 days or something?

How did I receive the full $600 for one stay?

I thought it was $300 semi-annually

This June, I booked a 3 night stay at a THC property for early July. I was shocked to receive a full $600 credit.

Will it be clawed back? Do I still have the 2nd half of the year credit?

What’s your oil change specs?

What weight, capacity and brand do you use? Where do you buy your stuff?

I’m assuming 99% of you use Mann filter MAN-HU9384x?

Bonus question: how often do you change your oil and filter?

CSR Application still under review

Been about a week, customer service can’t give me any updates. Is there a better number to call? What’s the turnaround time?

I’m at 3/24, FICO 765 and 100% payment history over 10 years. I’ve already had the CSP twice and 2 other chase cards.

I received a targeted offer via email today. I applied through a friends referral. Could that have delayed the app instead of applying through my chase account?

I guess I’m so used to Amex customer service responding to a live agent or speaking with an American agent. I think it’s ridiculous that chase customer service doesn’t have a live agent to chat with and have to wait for a callback from some outsourced agent with a thick heavy accent
