Anyone know how to fix this? It made it IMPOSSIBLE to do the race because I could only see half my screen. I’ve tried reloading the game and reinstalling but nothing works. My entire right side is wide open to attacks from enemies and animals.

I reloaded and it fixed itself, still a funny (but annoying) bug

I recently started playing again when I found out they added a third POV and if you, like me, think that you don’t aim far enough in third person; that aiming in first person is better but still don’t like playing in first person, I suggest rebinding the swap perspective button to the same as your aim button so that every time you aim, you automatically switch to first person aiming.

Granted you do have to hold it down again to switch back but if you have it on a short hold and it’s on a button that is cery easy to reach, it’s not a huge hassle imo. 🥰

I know this is probably not what the sub is about nor do I expect people to even read this, I’m honestly making this half to come to terms with it and half to just say what this game means to me.

I’ve never been the person to believe that video games have an impact on a person’s real life more than entertainment but playing this game changed that.

My grandmother was my best friend. She was a person who traveled until her body couldn’t and when it did, I traveled for her, she liked to watch Ski jumping, play solitaire and complain about her neighbor that walked around the apartments 6 times at 5pm every day for 30 years.

She passed shortly before I started playing this game and if I believed in a god, getting this game recommended to me would’ve been a sign that it was ok for me to let go.

Playing as Stella, learning the characters stories, how they all had issues and regrets that in the end, they made peace with and passed through the Everdoor really helped me metaphorically help my grandmother though the gate.

I’m still grieving tremendously that I’ll won’t be able to eat her cooking or play card games with her again until I myself pass through the gate, but I think playing this game has put into perspective that grief and sorrow.

I doubt the devs will ever read this, but if you do, truly, thank you for making this game. I think I’m okay with the fact that she, like the characters in the game, realised that no matter what, she had a good life and was okay with leaving.

Edit: Thank you for all your nice comments, since some of you said to think of my good memories with her, I thought I’d share my favorite. Maj was my paternal grandmother and unlike my younger sister who was a daddy’s girl, I was very close to my grandparents, my grandmother especially.

One year when I was about 10 we were going to the annual town fair, it had candy- and toy stalls and different rides, honestly a mini amusement park. Me and my sister were walking with my father, holding his hand so we didn’t get lost in the crowd.

From across the park I saw my grandmother; I without hesitation yanked my hand from my father’s grip, yelled “FARMOR!!!!” (Grandma) so loudly I’m sure the king heard me and booked it towards her.

She would always bring this memory up when talking about children, which was fairly often honestly. Especially in recent years when her memory began to fail her. She forgot a lot of things, but her little girl running across the fair into her arms was never one of them.

Since her name was Maj, the Swedish word for the month of May, she would always say “My name is Maj but I’m born in June” like it was some cosmic joke on her behalf. So I find it humorous that she passed on May 31st (last day of May), she may have been Maj born in June, but the gods above as her witness, she sure as hell was going to die in May.

I have it tuned off in the settings but it says ”in my contacts” by recomended friends. I don’t want sc to know that how do I turn off for real??

To prefice this: Yes, I know there was an option to not be with her, that’s not the point of this and this is just my opinion.

I have always admired the Horizon franchise for it’s HBTQ+ and mental health representation and how it feels so natural. That it’s not even mentioned in the game other than a worker saying “my husband”, a warrior saying people had issues with her choosing to wear “male armour” (obv implying she’s trans) or a man having schizophrenia.

That aside, I don’t like Seyka as a love interest. I legit had to google her name because she was so forgettable. She and aloy had almost no chemistry, all she did was talk about her sister (understandable because they were looking for her and the others), complaining and just generally uninteresting.

It was simultaneously so predictable and so out of left field. It really felt forced in a game that has NEVER felt that way. I would have rather they picked Alva, Talanah or Petra if they had to. Preferably Alva because she is already in the main crew and has an established character and is likable.

I actually don’t think she should have had a love interest at all. Whilst yes Aloy being outcast and her character arc has been amazing in seeing her get out of her “I need to do it on my own” mentality, but this was not it. It felt incredibly OOC for her.

Burning shores was a DLC so ofc they didn’t have a lot of time on the character but I mean look at the General from the DLC; saw him for 1/10th of the time and he is 10x the character she is.

I think the biggest issue is that they are just too similar. They’re both the “weird one”, they’re both the one that no one believes and they’re both somewhat hotheaded. Opposites attract. And whilst yes Talanah or Petra are also hotheaded, they still have so much more to them.

It really just feels like Aloy and Seyka has a misplaced feelings of attraction, just like Avad had for Aloy in HZD bc she was so much like Erza. It’s giving trauma bonding and not romance. I honestly spent the entire DLC just wishing she would go away.

I made a post earlier and since some people seemed surprised at the Sos bell feature, I’ll make this with some stuff that has improved my playing experience. Feel free to add your “hacks” in the comments.

1. If you hold the SoS bell, animals close to you will come running towards you, grented it doesn’t have a big radius and you have to wait for them to do their animation before you groom them.

2. If you press the SoS bell, starlit crystals (and ethereal stars) will light up, even through walls. This applies even outside SoS when you do the starlit pursuit and you can’t find those stubborn crystals. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work on dews.

3. If you glide and then hold the attack button, you will become suspended in the ait for about 3 seconds. (Only applies to the archery outfit)

4. When you’re in the wardrobe and find it incredibly annoying that everytime you want to make a new outfit, you get a clean slate but that also removes your make up/skin tone/eurekas, go to outfits (the one above hair) and select a random outfit and then unselect it; you’ll be left with a clean slate but keep the make up and your skin tone : )

5. If you have the archery outfits, you can unbind/rebind the special attacks by going to the archery outfit in the ability setup in the wardrobe, pressing the button in the lower right corner that says “battle setup” (square for PS5) and then on the right you will see two special attacks. If you press those, you can change if you want them and which button.

6. Similarly, if you find the outfit animations bothersome, you can turn them off by going into the outfit setup (trangle on PS5) and there will be an option above the “customize outfit” where you can turn then off.

7. You can also do the same on the gigantification outfit to turn off Momo roar.

8. In the game settings under control, you can change the camera’s distance from Nikki as well as the Field of view.

9. If you don’t want to go to the “Run, Pear-pal” menue every time you want to change the time, you can simply press the options button and then click on the time at the top of the screen, it’s a bit faster that way.

10. You can also disable the Pear-pal gameplay by going to that page and on the bottom it will have an option that says “Skip gameplay”.

11. If you have the Born Flawless ability and find it hard to use the wormhole ability, sprint in the enemy’s direction and then use the ability, 9/10 times it will be in the right direction.

12. If you have the Born flawless ability, if you press the sprint button, Nikki will jump backwards to dodge.

13. If you’re on console and find it hard to aim, move the camera so the enemy somewhat centered the taget, then hold to aim, it will be much easier.

If you only want it for the ability, remember that the Sea of Stars bell also calls nearby animals to you and makes them relaxed.

Whilst this 5⭐️ is a more powerful version of that, summoning a lot of animals and continually keeps them relaxed, there is already a FTP version if you’re on the fence.

I hope they add a new one soon, hopefully with a cool attribute

I put it in the mat thing and it vibrated a lot and then reloaded my game and now the thing says it’s where I’m standing but it’s not? Where can I reload a save?
