Planting this prickly pear pad?

This is my first time working with prickly pear. I found this pad and it had some obvious damage, and then I made the mistake of keeping it in a plastic bag for a week so it got some mold damage as well. I’ve now left it out of the bag for a couple weeks to air out. Should I just stick the pointy end of it into some dry and well drained soil and keep it in the shade for a couple weeks and see how it does? Should I try to break it in half along this injury line and root them as two separate pieces (after they callous)? Am I overthinking this? North Carolina.

Juan Sebastián de Elcano (Spain) coming up the Patapsco for SAIL250

At least that’s the ship I *think* it is.

I’m caught up :(

Just started watching the show a few weeks ago… and now I’m caught up. And I’m sad.
Now I have to wait like the rest of you peasants!

LCD Hoods for managing glare when shooting in bright sun -- worth it?

I've never used a hood before -- are they worth it? Or cumbersome? I've usually shaded w a spare hand, or turned up the LCD brightness, but now curious about other options. For those who have tried them -- what was your experience?

And how about anti-glare matte screen protectors?

Edit: this is re: R5 mk2. And yes, the view finder is another option, but there are times when i have the camera in a position such that the viewfinder is not practical… so that’s the use case I’m imagining.

Re: Avery Jessup -- is Elizabeth Banks wearing a wig?

In many of her appearances as Avery, it looks like she might be wearing a wig -- what do you all think? any idea why? i thought Banks usually goes as blonde anyways.

Edit: y’all rock!

Changing/handing over a billed-via-Apple Max acct to a different person?

I want to give over my Max acct to my now-ex for her to start paying etc (at her request), but it’s paid for via my Apple acct. Can i accomplish this cleanly — without her losing the profiles — if i 1) change the profile info in Max to her name and email 2) cancel the subscription in my apple acct then 3) she signs up (either directly or via her apple) using her email (same one inset it to)?
I don’t watch Max myself so fine letting it go.

Humanity has to permanently change the orbital period of the moon by +/- 1 min; they have 50 years.

The lunar orbital period is ~29.5 days (relative to the sun — synodic month). Humanity must add or subtract 1 minute within 50 years (or else everyone dies). If everyone cooperates, is it possible?

Note: Changing the definition of a minute is not a solution!
