I currently work over at ODHS and I swear they've got us running around keeping track of a million different things/new changes all at once, while our training is either spotty or outdated, not to mention the new Amazon Phone System is a pile of dogshit compared to OSCC

All this on top of not getting paid nearly enough to afford the cost of living, having our health insurance rendered useless by Collective Health, and now having to worry about the entirety of SNAP funding being cut off from our state in 2027 because apparently our statewide case accuracy ratings are that far in the toilet?

I swear to god I'm just going to volunteer as tribute if they ever start announcing layoffs, I'm genuinely so sick of all this, and thanks to Trump's constant gutting of social programs the calls we receive are getting worse and worse, and it's really hard to sit with having to be the bearer of bad news every single day

When in the hell does any of this get better? And more importantly can we all please start speaking up about these problems instead of keeping our heads down and staying quiet about everything like everyone else on my team seems to be doing? We have a union for heaven's sake, they can't fire us for speaking out about problems in our organization...

Hey all, it's come time for me to do some preventative cooling system maintenance on my 2007 Yaris, and I wanted to ask if I'm doing too much and if the quote I received is too high?

Right now, I'm looking at replacing the following items since they're about 20 years old, and I don't have any documentation on them ever being replaced:

• Coolant filler neck (this is starting to turn greenish-brown)
• Thermostat housing & thermostat
• All 3 rubber hoses
• Radiator (noticing a chalky white line on the front of the upper plastic part where the seam is, visible from behind the front grill)
• New coolant

I was quoted $1630 from my local indy mechanic to do all of this - is this too high?

I would do this stuff myself, but sadly my apartment complex won't allow any of us to work on our own cars...

You look so cool with your big expensive bicycle that costs more than what a lot of people make in an entire month, and the spandex gear absolutely hides the fact that you're 45 years old and going through a mid-life crisis.

Whenever you don't bother to signal that you're coming up behind someone, refuse to slow down for crowds of people, and almost run over little old ladies and small children at 30 mph, it's such a great look for you and it really makes you a likeable person, keep it up by all means necessary.

The fact that I go to the trail to get away from the whole "fuck you get out of my way" mentality that everyone in this city has behind the wheel of a 4000lb car, just to immediately be met with that same mentality by the pilots of a $4000 bicycle is just absolutely toe-ticklingly wonderful and it really gives me the energy to continue living.

How about this, y'all go get the therapy you so desperately need, and quit acting like an egotistical dickwad to everyone out there who's just trying to enjoy their weekend same as you, m'mkay? Because I'm a bike rider too, but I do this amazing unprecedented thing where I actually slow down for people, and let them know I'm passing on their left/right, and look both ways before crossing the street, and if my dumb ass can figure all that out I know yours can too :)

I (30m) just moved to Sacramento a few months back while my partner is off on Year 4 rotations, been having a tough time building community out here so I figured I'd see if there's any other MedSpouses in this city.

We're all in a weird situation, might as well try to build some community out of it lol

Mainly just making this post as a PSA for anyone looking for a cheap car right now

I've been out looking at cars for the past couple weeks and genuinely everything below $15k is a rebuilt/repainted/rusty/crashed/neglected/theft recovery piece of trash that's being actively band-aided together by these scummy-ass con artist car lots. Here's a good highlight reel of what I've seen so far lately:

• 2006 Infiniti FX35, "only 85k miles and 1 owner" but it's from Salt Lake City so it's rusted out underneath for $9k
• 2004 350Z Convertible, dealer is actively trying to cover up a timing chain issue and a potential oil pressure issue for $8k
• 1997 Porsche Boxster, with dangerously dryrotted/bald tires, rusty brakes, a dead battery, and a musty interior for $8k
• 1996 BMW Z3, "only 50k miles and 1 owner" but it's got a lagging transmission and all the major services have never been done, for a grand total of $9k
• 2010 Mini Cooper, "under 100k miles and 2 owners" but it's got a slipping transmission for $7k
• 2010 Ford Mustang, "under 100k miles" but it's got a rebuilt title and deferred maintenance for $10k
• 2010 Mercedes E350, "under 100k miles" but the whole entire car has a shitty oversprayed repaint job and black plasti-dipped wheels on it for $11k so god knows what it's hiding under the surface
• 2008 Mercedes CLK350, "69k miles" but half the electronics don't work, the interior smells musty, and the brakes are rusted out, for $9k

Genuinely who are the suckers that buy cars like this? Because there isn't a single thing I've seen out there, from economy to luxury, that I would spend my hard-earned money on at this time; like I would genuinely rather keep using my bicycle/Lyft than get a car right now.

Not even getting into how many countless Camrys/Corollas/Accords/Fits/literally any Nissan, Hyundai, Kia ever/etc. that are all clapped to shit with 200k miles and 9+ prior owners from all the BHPH repo lots around town just churning these things out to people who have zero financial literacy and just proceed to trash the car for 3 months until the repo guy takes it away and puts it back into the sales pool, where it gets washed and spray painted and vacuumed out and sold for $10k minimum...

So what's your stories, anything you've seen lately at these sh*tbox lots that's gotten you wondering when the car market will finally collapse? Because I genuinely hope that every single used car peddler in this town goes bankrupt stfg

I know this is one heck of a long shot, but I've recently been looking for certain garments I used to have as a teenager, as I'm finding ways of re-incorporating them into my current streetwear looks - trouble is, some of these items are proving a bit difficult to find.

The item I'm asking about in this post is an Adidas men's zip hoodie from sometime around 2007-2009; I'll try to visually describe it as best as I can remember:

• Bright orange stripes going up the sleeves onto the hood, made from a sort of lycra material similar to basketball shorts
• Light beige base fabric with a brown leafy(?) pattern screen printed over it; I think it sort of gradients from the upper part of the jacket being light beige into the bottom of the jacket being a dark brown
• Baggy fit
• Black with white text/logo adidas mountain logo patch sewn into the front left chest area of the garment
• Small brown tag with bold white font on the lower right side of the garment that says something like "love/revolution/power/dedication/etc." (I think this was a specific series of clothing they had around this time - and no, I'm not thinking of the Missy Elliott collaboration)

Been plugging away for a couple days trying to find this, but haven't been able to turn up any results - was wondering if there's anyone in here who might be able to help?

My GF and I just listened to a THT episode after not listening to the podcast for a while - and their reaction to the whole story with the Aeron Chair being stolen by the lady's coworker who she later had arrested genuinely has me ticked

How tf is Morgan so out of touch with this type of stuff when she used to be a practicing Physical Therapist who should have some sort of baseline knowledge about back pain and reasonable accomodations like bruh

I'm 100% on the side of the lady getting her coworker arrested over the chair theft and honestly, I think she has a valid EEOC lawsuit against her boss for getting fired over this - and the fact that Morgan took the side of the colleague who got arrested while completely ignoring the OP's back issues is genuinely ableist af
