I don’t know about other places but here it feels stupidly easy to catch them, just a jerkbait with line no more than 8lb test and slay them all day. Even the bigger ones like to come out to play fairly often. Makes me wonder why people think it’s so hard?

This isn’t really taking extreme fishing pressure into account (ex: Taylor tailwaters, Dream stream, cheesman), but even fairly high pressure fisheries (ex: Taylor river far below tailwaters, gunnison river) feel not that difficult to get them.

Is it just because I live in Colorado?

I went pike fishing at spinney yesterday in my kayak. First, I tried to launch and got stuck in the mud, that was an hour long ordeal in of itself. Got onto the water at about 2:30 and fished weed lines till 7. Not. A. Single. Follow. I have been catching pike consistently at other spots so it’s not like I’m completely clueless. The water had so much algae in it floating around. I broke my most expensive rod (not the lakes fault, my stupid mistake).

I can’t even BEGIN to describe my level of sheer level of disappointment after I have been constantly hearing that it’s the best pike lake in Colorado. “Go to spinney there are so many aggressive pike in there you can’t even catch a trout” is a direct quote from several people I’ve talked to both online and in person.

Have I been lied to? I know what lures to fish for them given the spot and conditions and that I need to fish drop offs and weed lines. I did plenty of research on where to fish in the lake

I want to go to spinney, I’ve caught pike at several places including Taylor, Tarryall and Monument lake. I have never been up to spinney though and I’d like to try in like a week or two.

It’s a little intimidating how big it is though, where do I start? I have a kayak. If you’ve got a secret spot there feel free to not share it if you don’t want, but where could I find a good number of them that you’d feel comfortable sharing?

I’ve been like 7 times now, never caught anything. Used literally every type of lure. Dawn and dusk. Fast and slow, calm and choppy etc etc etc. also spring and fall. I don’t understand how so many of you are catching so many there, I’ve only ever seen one person catch one with my own eyes. HOW TF DO YOU DO IT

Final scene of the show: Walter dead on the floor of the meth lab. But going through old threads pre el Camino: it’s BAFFLING to me just how many people were so convinced that he didn’t actually die.

Did you all really need a damn MOVIE which had a line in a news clip confirming that he’d died before the cops found him? It almost feels like they did that just to squash the theories that he’d survived somehow. And that’s just sad.

I don’t see it as a writing fail, I see it as a fanbase fail. The fanbase needed to have that 3 second line in el Camino to actually believe that Walt died. I mean, come on. Really? If you’re one of those people I’m talking directly to you: I’m disappointed. If you aren’t: you can disregard everything here

When I watched season 5 for the first time I thought Jack was going to be the big baddie of the final season like how Gus was with season 4. It wasn’t until Ozymandias that I realized how wrong I was, that the big boss of the season was Walter White himself.

Not that Jack and Todd aren’t evil, but they weren’t the final boss of the show. They’re more so representations of how far Walt had really fallen, that he was working with literal Nazis purely for the love of the game. When you rewatch the season through the eyes of someone else (like Skyler, Jesse, Marie etc), it’s actually insane just how evil he is😭.

At what point did you all realize it?

Walt trying to kiss Carmen was 100x worse than happy birthday mr president.

I love cringe comedy so while Skyler’s Marilyn Monroe birthday song was HELLA cringe, I thought it was also funny AF. Walt trying to kiss Carmen wasn’t funny, harmless or amusing. It was gross and perverted. Not saying it’s a bad scene, I think the scene was necessary for him to lose his job and push our tolerance for his actions further, which is what the show does best.

So yeah, that’s my unpopular (I think? I actually don’t know) opinion that nobody asked for :P

People always say that Lalo would demolish Walter White if they were enemies (which I fully agree with), and that Gus beating Lalo was pure plot armor. But hear me out:

Gus knew just how dangerous Lalo was, as we can see from his insane paranoia in S6. He did everything he possibly could to prepare, even going so far to plant guns in the lab, which is very much something Gus would do. Then he plays to Lalo’s ego when he becomes cornered, which we know he’s a master at. He let Lalo think he genuinely won before taking him by surprise.

Since Walter isn’t as dangerous as Lalo and Gus was riding high thinking if he can take down Lalo he could deal with anyone, it makes sense that Gus would underestimate him. In breaking bad season we see Gus at his most confident. He knows Walt is a genuinely dangerous threat, but still thinks that he could easily deal with him. Gus didn’t expect Walter to team up with Hector obviously, which is what Walt was counting on and it worked.

If you think I’m wrong tell me why⬇️

Please stop telling people not to eat bass, unless it’s for a health reason (like bad water or whatever).

Please stop pushing your beliefs about bass being purely for sport onto people who like to eat them.

Also please stop saying stuff like “release bass and eat walleye/trout/crappie cause it’s better.” It’s not as good logic as you think it is.

You don’t wanna eat bass? Cool don’t. But please, stop complaining when people do, and shaming others for doing so. It’s incredibly annoying.

Bag limits exist so that people can harvest bass sustainably, so if people do want to legally harvest bass, stop acting like it’s a bad thing, cause it’s not

If you ARENT one of these people who does this, I’m not talking to you. You know who you are

Edit: I’m not saying everyone needs to go out and eat a bunch of bass, or trying to tell people they’re wrong for not liking it. Stop putting words in my mouth. I’m simply suggesting more people to try it from clean cool water cause I think they’d like it. If you don’t want to, don’t do it

I just spend EIGHT HOURS (1pm-9pm) at Tarryall reservoir, one of the PREMIER pike fisheries of Colorado. And I didn’t even so much as get a bite from even a tiny hammer handle. I tried everythjng you can think of. People say it’s not that hard to catch them but WTF. I’m great at catching trout, bass and walleye but do I just suck at pike fishing?

Also, I was in my kayak covering tons of water with a variety of lures, focusing on weedy areas. 20lb fluoro leader instead of wire

Seasons 1-3 are easily some of the best seasons of TV I’ve ever seen, then season 4 is weaker but still fine, season 5 was better than 4… until Troy left. This marks the death of the show for me. Latter half of S5 is just depressing, and season 6 is just a total mockery of what the show used to be.

It’s sad because the first 3 seasons are like, on par with the best seasons of the office, even better in some aspects. Does anyone else struggle to rewatch because you know it’s only good for a short while?

And yes I am aware of the “gas leak year” situation with Dan Harmon. Still better than season 6 imo

I recently saw a comment in another post that was talking about how Walt isn’t a likable guy in the slightest (which is true). There was a comment that said what I said here in the title and it got me thinking, there’s no way to unite the fanbase over Skyler or Walter. There’s always going to be those who hate one and love the other and fight over it.

But let’s talk about Ted. Does he have any redeeming qualities? Does ANYONE like him? Can we unite over how much we all HATE Ted?🤣🤣 dude is the WORST. The only good Ted scene is when Huell and Bill Burr came and he broke his neck
