Is it worth waiting for the SuperStation One to come back in stock or should I buy a DE10-Nano board and make my own Mister FPGA with its own disc reader to play physical games?

Apparently you can attach a external CD/DVD reader to any FPGA device and it should be able to read physical games and play them on your mister. Apparently some people have made their FPGA's look like a console similar to these which honestly look better designed than the SuperStation One.

Granted I don't think either of these play discs and I think they are just cases but how hard would it be to make a mister similar to these? If not, is it worth buying one of those basic misters that look like a small box that is the same size of a soda can and just attach a disc reader to it? If I do that is there an option for a console like menu similar to what the SuperStation One has where it shows the box art of the game and some screenshots of what the game is? Some frontends for emulators like ES-DE do this so I am curious if this is available?

Who or what exactly is this character with glasses on this box?

It was one of the boxes that came with the M64, who exactly is this character?

When will they get the built in controller pak saves to work with the M64 console or controller?

I would assume saves on the original controller paks for the n64 controllers work just fine, but I want to use my pro controller. On the experimental tab in the M64 menu the built in controller pak is under coming soon so I am assuming that feature is not yet implemented with the console yet? That is kind of wild to release a console and not have the option to have save games work on the controller paks when you release it. I am not certain if the controller pak saves is either on the pro controller or the console itself? Granted I think a lot of N64 games didn't really use the controller pak to save games but there are still a few games I own that I can't fully play through unless I either just use my original N64 controller with its controller pak or just play through the entire game in one setting and not save.

My M64 has finally arrived! Also showing off my N64 collection

I wanted the red pro controller to match with the console but it was sold old which is fine I plan on getting 4 pro controllers any ways eventually. They also said they are going to sell different color plates separately so it doesn't really matter which color you choose. What was your favorite N64 game as a kid? Mine was Harvest Moon 64 and Smash Bros!

Thoughts on this guy?

One of the biggest issues with the ModRetro brand imo is people being either very biased against it because of its founder Palmer Luckey, and then you have people who seem like they are probably paid to give a very biased positive review on their products like this guy. Tofer did convince me to get a Chromatic, he compared the system and the Analogue pocket as the Chromatic is a master at doing one thing and the Pocket is a jack of all trades but a master of none. He also explained how the Chromatic and also the M64 is built to last for a very long time which I like. But he seems very biased towards the platform and I heard he apparently handed out free Chromatics once during his streams. I recently watched a video by a youtuber called Mort's Garage and he compared the visuals between the FPGA consoles and he showed off that the M64 is pretty muddy right now visually, although I think he said it might have to do with a specific TV he played on that the M64 doesn't support yet? The visual issue is probably going to be fixed in a update hopefully. I have also seen complaints on this subreddit and in some videos from people complaining about the 90 dollar pro controller. There are some other reviewers I watched that I think are pretty biased or probably biased like Madlittlepixel. Stephen Bias which I think his name is ironic lol is biased towards the platform also.

How accurate was the Analogue 3D when it launched?

I am getting the feeling the M64 will probably not be able to play a few N64 games or some games will have some minor issues/accuracies when it launches. How accurate was the Analogue 3D when that came out? Was it able to play the entire N64 library? I think I heard it had issues with the DK 64 vine test where in the demo of that game DK plays through the first level and at a certain point he jumps and tries to grab onto a floating vine which I heard failed originally on the A3D. Was the A3D able to play all regions at launch or can it do it now, I mean like games from Japan and PAL regions? Currently I do not see a list of either Japan or PAL in M64's compatibility list so I am really hoping they start adding that so I can play some imports from Japan.

What was the first game you guys ever played that replaced Male and Female options to "Body Type 1 and 2"?

For me it was Elden Ring which I found it incredibly bizarre at the time. What was the first game you played that did this?

Is there a Doom WAD that replaces the music in the game with the music that inspired Dooms music from bands like Pantera, Metallica, Slayer, and Alice in Chains?

It's well known that Dooms music borrowed some things from music from popular metal bands at the time. Music from other older games did this also where they kind of sound similar to some popular music. Bobby Prince who was the composer for Doom 1 and 2 was also a lawyer and he knew how much he was allowed to take from a song and put it into the games legally.

For example Doom 1's E1M1 song borrowed from Metallicas song No Remorse, is there a WAD to replace all of the songs in the game with the music that Bobby Prince took inspiration from?

How do I make the heart/star buttons do nothing?

Great controller, my major issue with it is that I really dislike the star and heart buttons under the d-pad and the face buttons. I sometimes accidentally press them and they sometimes open an overlay when I am playing a game and its really annoying. Can you make them not do anything? I tried using the 8BitDo ultimate software and it would not recognize the controller.

Just some questions regarding the SuperStation One such as how hot does it get and what are its missing features?

I just bought and paid for this item on the RetroRemake website on May 30th for both the console and its CD dock. Curious how long it will take for them to ship the console to me, it was part of the batch 4 and from what I understand from its shipping dashboard I think they are waiting for SuperDocks to be finished before shipping more?

I have heard online that the console apparently can get pretty hot, can it get hot enough to damage the console? Is it safe for me to use the same charger that came with my Steam deck, or can it overpower and fry the system? I hear mixed things from people saying that it's way too much power for the system and others say its fine it will only take the required amount of power from the charger is giving it.

I have heard apparently its still missing features that were promised such as I think a console interface and also its SuperDock obviously. Is the console interface like the ES-DE Frontend for emulation? Will it have box arts for ROMS, little descriptions for games, ability to favorite games so I don't have to keep scrolling to find them, and even some small gameplay videos showing off what the game is like similar to what ES-DE does? Some frontends for emulators allow you to scrape boxart for games to give some visual representation of what you are playing, from what I know currently the SuperStation One uses the Mister FPGAs simple interface. I see posts of people getting their SuperDocks on this subreddit but apparently it does not work currently? Is there other features missing from this console? I heard the creator of it tends to promise too many features for his projects or he gets involved with too many?

Were any of the "Harvest Moon" games made by Natsume any good?

My first Harvest Moon game was the one on N64 and growing up I always thought Natsume were the creators of the series, but that wasn't true they were its publisher and translator, Marvelous was the series true creator. Marvelous suddenly chose to I think publish the series themselves and then rebranded the series as Story of Seasons outside of Japan. As we all know or should know the series in Japan is called Bokujō Monogatari which doesn't translate into English as Harvest Moon, but Natsume owns the Harvest Moon name and has been making farming sim games with the Harvest Moon name for branding confusion.

I haven't followed this series that closely but from what I remembered the early Harvest Moon games made by Natsume only were panned as very bad, did their games get better? Are any of them good?

Would it be possible for the SuperStation One to get a dock for cartridge games similar to its CD based dock? With the ability to swap cartridge adapters?

Wouldn't this be possible? Since the machine can play physical CD games with the addon and be hardware accurate to the CD games original hardware could Retro Remake make an addon for the console to play carts too? It can play SNES, Genesis, N64 and other cart based games from the 80's and 90's via emulation and be hardware accurate. It can be sorta similar to what the Analogue pocket does which it primarily plays GB, GBC, and GBA but it has adapters to play other handheld cart games. You could buy a cartridge dock for the SuperStation and then purchase whatever adapters for whatever console you want separate. The only issue I see with this is that on all sides of the SuperStation from what I see online has ports for either video, usb, controllers and slots for the ps1 memory card so I dunno where the carts would go unless they make the carts go in sideways under the system which would look really weird.

I just thought it would be really cool if there was a FPGA console that basically was a all in one system that played basically nearly every console around the PS1 and below with either physical media or via roms on a SD card so that a flash cart isn't required.

The awful marketing of the M64

Pretty good video overall, they were pretty vague about this console in general with what it can do. Also I didn't notice Casey Neistat holding the controller wrong for Mario Kart lol.
