I.P. Business Name

If a local brand already has an Intelectual Property ownership of certain words like for example Strawberry Cooler and I tried to put up a business with a name Strawberry Coolers, is that allowed? Does addition of S make us different? is that legally allowed?

Real estate agents: What CRM are you using these days?

Quick question for the agents and property managers here.

Are you using **PropertyMe**, **MRI Eagle**, **VaultRE**, or another platform?

What made you choose it, and has it lived up to expectations? I’d love to hear what you like, what you don’t, and whether you’d switch if you had the chance. I’m pretty new here, so i’d love your thoughts on this.

Aspiring skilled migrant (Food Tech) to Australia — tips on VETASSESS + English test strategy?

Hi everyone, hoping to get some real talk from people who've gone through this.

Background: I'm a Food Technologist here in PH, 7+ years of experience in R&D/product development (mostly cakes, gelato, ice cream, pastries). I also run a small food business but I'm currently in the process of transitioning selling the business (hirap magbusiness sa pinas), so timing-wise I actually have some flexibility to focus on migration this year.

I'm looking at the skilled migration route under ANZSCO 234212 (Food Technologist). Here's where I'm at:

  • Haven't started my VETASSESS skills assessment yet. this is my next step
  • English test (IELTS or PTE) is my biggest unknown. I need to hit 65 points minimum for EOI
  • Looking mainly at South Australia and Tasmania for 190/491 state nomination, since they seem to have room for my occupation, but open to hearing if other states are worth considering

Questions for those who've done this or are further along:

  1. For VETASSESS specifically for Food Technologist . how long did your assessment actually take, and did you need anything beyond your transcript/employment certs?
  2. IELTS vs PTE. which one gave you better/more consistent results for hitting Superior English (needed for the extra points)? Any prep resources that actually worked for you (not just generic "practice more" advice)?
  3. Anyone recently nominated under SA or Tas for a non-mainstream occupation like this. how competitive did it feel, and did you go through an agent or DIY the whole EOI/state nomination process?
  4. In general, what's the best pathway to actually get there. go for subclass 189 (no state/employer needed) if I can hit the points, or try for employer sponsorship instead? Is one realistically faster/safer than the other for someone in my occupation?

Not in a rush, but want to build the timeline properly instead of guessing. Would really appreciate insight from anyone who's walked this specific path (or close to it). Grabe, hirap mabuhay sa Pinas

29 [F4M] Hmmm trying something different

How do you start this? 😅

Been too busy with my career and that might be the reason why I have not had a bf. But I’m content and happy with myself. So, if you’re just looking for fun, you can skip now, I’m not into that.

Tried dating apps but I will always uninstall after a day or 2 because it’s hard to find a genuine one.

I am also an introvert so I don’t usually go out.

I am not also active in any social media.

Friends say I have the looks but is too tamad to go out and have a life. I’d rather binge watch an anime or read some books.

I’m a homebody, and love massage. Usually, go to spa day once a month.

Btw, I’m 5’3, quite slim so I’m trying to gain weight. To add, I already went home in our province (Bicol) and started a business after getting burnt out from climbing the corporate ladder 2 years ago.

What am I looking for?

Just a genuine connection, no pressure. Just, someone to share my day aside from my friends who are already busy with their life. And eventually, if we click, will just hope for the best ✨

I just hope you’re cute, moreno/chinito about my age. Kidding aside, hope you’re also building something for future self now.

Where to post?

Our family is moving abroad and because of that we have to close our business. Would anyone here know where to best post equipment for sale? We have a freezer van, freezers, a gelato machine, cash drawers etc.

Does growing your business just mean spending less time doing what you’re actually good at? 😢

I've been hit with a bit of reality check this week. As we’ve picked up more work, my time has completely shifted away from the actual core business.

Instead, I'm stuck in scheduling loop-de-loops, hunting down clients who "forgot" to pay their invoices, and trying to keep up with social media management so we don't look dead online. It feels like the reward for getting more business is just getting penalized with an absolute mountain of manual admin work.

Curious to hear from others who have been through this, how much of your week is swallowed up by pure admin/scheduling/follow-ups versus the work that actually generates revenue?

Real estate agents of Australia, what is the absolute strangest thing you’ve encountered during an open house or inspection?

Heard a story from a mate who went to an open inspection where the current tenants had left something incredibly bizarre out on display, and it completely threw the agent off.

It made me realize how much weird stuff people in property must see on a weekly basis. For any agents, auctioneers, or property managers browsing this sub, what’s your ultimate "I don't get paid enough for this" story from a property viewing or a tenant exit inspection?
