So with bowers being injured who do you think is a better option for a replacement? Should I drop Ferguson for Mayer?

Here I am talking about the eye test. There are just some players you see play and constantly do bad. They lose the ball, miss a pass, or even miss open chances. But at the end of the day they end up scoring or assisting every match. Why is this a thing?

Although there are a couple of negatives from the recent match. There is also a big positive, the defense. I was greatly surprised with how much Dean has improved. He looked better aerially and way more confident with the ball. He adds up a lot in build up. Furthermore, Konate was a wall. He was physical and managed to win a lot of duels. He looks really solid and could set himself as the starter.

Not only are the center backs strong, but also our fullbacks. While Carreras was not outstanding, he has a good display. And more likely than not he is just the backup for a very good Cucurella. Additionally, Dumfries was everywhere in the pitch, contributing to both attack and defense. I think my only concern at the moment is Trent. It is hard to set the team up for him because of underwhelming physicality and defensive awareness. I hope that Mourinho can bring the best out of him.

Currently I am between him and taking McConkey. I was going to take Egbuka before that, but I am worried about his injury.

As the title mentions, what is a player that you have really liked throughout the years, but has never come to Madrid. I have always liked and wanted Kimmich at Madrid. Not only is he an engine but he is also technically amazing. I always had the idea that he would be the perfect Kroos replacement. Unfortunately, it never happened, and it never will. Getting him out of Bayern is borderline impossible.

So, as a Real Madrid fan I can say this is a problem that the team has had for a couple of years now. We lack the creative aspect in the midfield. To the point where seeing Bernardo Silva playing was very refreshing.

If Rodri is signed, I think that we will almost have a perfect balanced team. However, I do think having another CB would be a great idea. Furthermore, who could that CB be? I personally really liked Lacroix, Gvardiol and Scho but none of those will happen at this point. It looks like our only option now is Laporte. So, who could that CB be, if we get one.

We have pretty much made no spendings. We made a lot of sales of players who were not even in Madrid, and that brings us to spending pretty much no money. In fact, we have probably even profited. With that being said, our only really good signings have been Cucurella and Dumfries. On the other hand we have Konate who is a fourth choice CB for France, and who has been looking shaky for a while. He is good business in this market, but is he really a Madrid level CB? I personally see him more like a backup option. Additionally, we also signed Bernardo Silva. Who used to be really good for City. But once again, is he really starter quality?

If we spend money on a technical midfielder, a solid center back and a right winger we will probably go back to being a top team in Europe. This may be too much to ask, but having in mind that we have technically not spent any money yet, it is not crazy.

Not just me, but many people in this sub have been pushing for this. What just happened to France is what will happen to us in big matches if we do not have a midfielder capable of moving the ball forward. A midfield of Valverde and Tchoumeni will not work against big teams. Having progression is necessary against well organized and possession focused teams. I do not think that both Tchoumeni and Valverde should stay, but that’s probably what will happen. Nonetheless, I hope that I am wrong and we have a great season.

There has been many instances where low blocks stop even the best of teams. In fact, it almost stopped PSG if it wasn’t for their overwhelming quality and tactics. So, why is it so hard to break them?

What is a statement that instantly lets you know that someone doesn’t know ball? To use a recent example, anyone who says that the reason the best midfield in the WC can’t create chances is Cristiano is just hating or doesn’t know what they talking about.

They have Bellingham, Rice and Anderson. So not only will they outrun most (if not all) midfields, but they are also very technical. Anderson is great at controlling play, Rice is very well rounded and is a wall in defense, and Bellingham enhances Kane by making runs when Kane drops and opens space. I think this is genuinely the best shot England has had in a while.
