I scrolled for a bit and it was literally 100% seals, then it went down to like 90%
Or maybe it’s the prequel, idk.
Not sure which one I love more now.
I ❤️ her suits because I find them more believable than the Iron Man suits. They’re bulkier and also just less powerful. Also the way they have to charge constantly with solar and wind power makes perfect sense. In the show, I liked how much they focused on her struggle to build them. With Iron Man, I have to turn my brain off a little more, to believe that the suit’s hand could fit like a glove and still have room to blast lasers and propel him through the sky. Which I often enjoy— but this was refreshing. And then in the last couple episodes, they switched it up when they made it run on magic. I love that as well. It’s good that the MCU is acknowledging how all its different themes, like fantasy and sci-fi, exist in the same world. Magic is just magic, you don’t need to explain how it works— if you say a spell can be used as a limitless power source, I’ll believe it. I really hope we get to see more of Riri in the MCU. Idk what happened to her when she bargained with Mephisto, tho. I think she’s a pretty good successor to Iron Man. She definitely can’t replace his personality, (no one can) but she’s a good superhero and I’ll take what I can get.
It’s hard. I’m jealous cuz I can’t do it myself. There’s a lot of stuff I can do, but I get really discouraged.
Stinky’s hat is also Shrimpo’s chair.
Shrimpo I’ve had since 5th grade and Stinky I got in the last year for my current seal passion. I still need more. Like some big, fat ones.
I have this impression of Worldbuilding and a lot of art in general that when it's shared online, it's got this sort of hippy, cutesy, attention-seeking attitude. When I hear things like "hey, look at my OC, what do you think?" that's how I tend to perceive it. I know it's only fair to assume that most of that’s just in my head, but I’m having trouble with that. Can anyone help me?
No advertising. No agenda. Just telling us about leopard seals. Whoever put this up should be on this sub. Maybe they are. Anyone?
Sorry buckeroo, chop chop.
I just wanted to know where the most well-confirmed potentially habitable planets were.
Because a lot of the time when people say "cement," they mean concrete. Concrete is the rock stuff, cement is the rubbery stuff used to fill in the cracks.
Sorry to be a stickler
I’m not gonna bother with some of the most feverish parts, but basically, and I’m not making anything up; Danny Devito was one of my teachers at school, and I was screaming at him and totally dragging him through the dirt for something, and he got really mad and attacked me with a poker. He was really bad at handling it though, he just sort of waved it around weakly and I shoved it out of the way. And then I felt bad for yelling at him.
Oh goddamnit you can’t attach photos on this sub, now what am I supposed to do
Nevermind
For the past little while, I’ve had to face the fact that my dog is unlikely to live more than a couple more years. Could be sooner, I don’t know. She’s just old.
I feel prepared for the loss. But there’s one part of it that’s much more… conflicting. I just don’t want to share the experience with the rest of my immediate family. It’s going to be monumental for all of us, and I dunno, I just don’t want to deal with their feelings and mine at the same time. I know that’s how it’s supposed to go, but… dammit, I dunno. This is gonna be the first time someone who’s really close to me dies.
So I really wanted to make an intelligent alien that doesn’t look like a human, or anything on earth, but also doesn’t look cluttered, with a bunch of arbitrary body parts, and for it to be believable, and for it to be able to do a lot of the same things humans can, but in different ways. I went through SO MANY designs. I actually found more than one template that I liked, but this is the one I chose to flesh out first.
So first, I wanted to make it as inhuman as possible. But I realized that the less human I made it, the less I liked it. So I considered that maybe I was taking the wrong approach. I wanted to like the way it looked, for one thing. And the truth is, even without any common ancestry, evolution is likely to repeat many similar designs, just because they work. So it’s got a mix of earthly and alien elements.
They have mouths in their hands that quickly liquify food and carry it to the stomach. They can also use their teeth to grip stuff, like we do, but it’s easier since it’s on their hands. They’re more interested in the sensations of food in their stomach than their mouths. Since they don’t really use their mouths for tasting or testing food in any way, they can regurgitate at will if they ate something bad. They can’t make a fist, but they can press their fingers together like a big knife.
Their eyes are made of gel that moves up and down in little waves, which is their version of opening and closing their eyes. The red spots show you where they’re looking, and when they focus really hard, their eyes glow faintly. I tried having the eyes inbetween the arms and legs, since that would be less earthly, but that’s would make them much more fixed, so it would be harder to look around. The pincer-shaped growths that their eyes are on can twist and bend at their bases, like our heads.
Their talking mouths are at the top/rear. I don’t know how they make sound, whether it’s vocals or whistling or whatever, but hardly open their mouths much unless they’re shouting, otherwise their eyes would get moved around whenever they talked.
Their insides are probably much weirder, but I haven’t worked that out yet.
I’ll definitely also start deciding what their society and culture is like. Now that I know what they look like, I can think about how they would live. I think that could be even more interesting than designing a weird body.
