Tips on building a strong 62TE?
I have a Caravan putting out 400 HP at the crank. Last year I rebuilt a transmission for it and I only got 11 months out of it. It seemed to handle it well (spanked many Hemi Chargers), but then suddenly lost 3rd and 5th. Then when going to the junkyard to get another transmission it lost all forward motion. When I opened the pan there was a dime sized piece of steel on the magnet. Haven't torn it down to see what the exact fair was yet.
I was wondering if anyone has built a 62TE to withstand such power and what they did. I know Jasper puts an additional clutch and steel in the overdrive drum. Does that require thinner steels or is it just another stock set? I had the TransGo shift kit in my rebuild, but plan on putting their high pressure kit in the next one. Outside of those upgrades is there anything else I can do to make it as tough as possible?
And alternatively, is there a manual FWD transmission that will bolt to the 3.6? I'd also be open to ones that will work with an adapter plate, if an adapter plate is available. I know building a 62TE for racing is a bit crazy given their track record on reliability, but I don't have this username for nothing. 😜
There is no red.
Zoom in and see. There is no red. If you don't see red, step away and look again.
edit: This works best on phone screens and not large screens. It really stands out for me in the tiny phone notification thumbnails.

Made this on my other (banned) profile of Mrs_Attenborough. Still relevant today. Dishes are my nemesis
EDIT- I just missed my Psychiatry appointment because I was on here answering messages... Fuck
UK: Fuck our citizens in particular. No cute raccoon pics for you!
Guy in UK couldn't see the cute raccoon pics because the UK is weird. Banned pic included.

Don't Knock It Till You've Tried It......You Know What I'm Talking About
Doomed to only carry a down duvet on this rack?
1986 Chevy G10 SWB Van: tongue weight 400 lb
Yakima Backswing (swings to side): max carry is 250 lb, and weighs 36 lb
Cargo rack: 48 lb. It folds up and I just got the shank shortened so it doesn’t stick out so far but clears propane when folded. Still sticks out plenty far, I know!
I was watching a Curt trailers vid where they gave math regarding max carry on a configuration like this.
From their math, it seems like I can only put 50 more lb on this rack. I’m hoping that if I ratchet to the bumper on either side, that’ll help.
Looking for experienced opinions. Taking this out on a road trip in a few days. Thanks!
