Diagnose BrassFacts’ 6 ARC Jams

BrassFacts just did an interesting review on PSA’s ICAR receiver set with 6 ARC. He ran 800 rounds total, mostly of the Frontier load (Hornady’s off brand 105gr in FMJ). What’s weird is that he started out having no issues and then gradually had more and more jams until he had to cycle each round by hand. He was running a blue Sprinco and H2 buffer. I saw one commenter state that the problem is his Rexus bolt, which starts out strong and then loses reliability once it gets dirty. Thoughts?

The other big issue to come out of this video (and the video from Hop, which was only published internally for his subscribers) is the compatibility of anti-rotation tab handguards with ICAR receivers. If anyone knows any rails with anti-rotation tabs that work, please respond with that info.

The FFL's Guide To Selling Suppressors Without a Form 4

There's a full article on our site written by an attorney, but this checklist is a boiled-down version that is designed for your average gun store employee to fill out. If you're an FFL and want to use this checklist, you should have your attorney look it over before use. If they have any questions or issues, have them read the full article on our site (swp.dev), which explains all the legal reasoning behind the checklist. You can also download a full-resolution PDF checklist on our site.

Why are we doing this? Because industry titans grossly distorted the court ruling in their social media posts in order to financially capitalize on their court success. Rather than telling small FFL's about how they can also benefit from the ruling, PSA and SilencerShop instead told the world "Just buy from us and only us." That is morally wrong and also legally incorrect. The ruling allows for a non-Form 4 sale between a FFL/SOT who is a member of a covered organization and an individual buyer who is a member of a covered organization, provided they're in a free state.

PSA and SilencerShop didn't want you to know this. But now you know.

Meeting With IOI On Wednesday - What Do I Need to Know?

I have the first meeting with the ATF IOI scheduled for Wednesday afternoon for my FFL application. What are the things you wish you'd known before your first IOI meeting?

I've been told by another FFL that it will mostly be an "educational" meeting rather than them checking lots of things. Would you agree?

Quitting Cerakote Before Starting

I did some cerakote training and was super excited to get started, but I really can't seem to make the budget work. The image shows the best budget setup I can seem to come up with.

So am I right that a super basic setup for cerakoting is about $10,000? If anyone has any tips on how to reduce costs, I would greatly appreciate it, since it's super discouraging to see such a bill just to get started (the old adage rings true - "You have to have money to make money").

Where to Find Awesome Braams Like These?

The attached video is two braams I heard in trailers that I love and want to use (but can't due to the other sound in the trailer, not to mention copyright). Does anyone know where I can find a good braam pack that has sounds like these? The braam packs I've found online haven't had good ones like these.

Recording DJI Goggles 3 PiP + Passthrough

When you use passthrough in DJI Goggles 3 (I guess what they call "RealView"), can you record your surrounding environment? Or will it only record what the drone sees?

Custom Barrel Lowest Wait Times

Who has the best turnaround on custom barrels right now? I've looked at X-Caliber, Precision Firearms, and McGowen, and I know there are others I'm missing. Please share how long it took you to get yours if you can.

Identify the Colors

Another user posted this here a month or two ago, and I saved the image back then and promised myself I would do this pattern eventually. I'm just getting to it now and can't figure out what colors were used. It's definitely three different colors. Any advice would help!

Topaz Labs - Predatory Pricing at Its Worst

Topaz Labs is the worst of the worst in predatory pricing practices. Not only are app subscription costs up 100% year over year (for inference running locally on my computer), they didn't even give an option to renew at the previous rate. There was no auto-renew, no email to renew at the same rate, nothing. Just opened the app to suddenly find that I don't have a subscription, and Surprise! - the subscription is now double what I paid a year ago. Topaz is literally the worst of the worst, and I eagerly await the day when open-source AI will shutter their doors forever.

Finding an FFL Office - The Nightmare Continues

Does anyone have any experience with renting a retail-zoned space with a Type 7 FFL? Only limiting yourself to "industrial" zoned spaces is a non-starter. And it appears the industrial zoning thing isn't an ATF requirement anyways. It's ridiculous to be restricted to warehouses if you're just going to assemble ARs from a parts kit.

Backstory: In trying to get an FFL 07, AI initially told me that I must get an "industrial zoned" office space, which led to weeks of agony. 40% of realtors say no immediately when mentioning "firearms/ammo manufacturing" and the remaining 60% won't allow any special clauses in the lease (permitted use/contingency clause), or the space isn't up to code (meaning I couldn't get local government permit if they do an inspection), or they just gradually stop communicating (probably more firearms-discrimination). I'm literally out of spaces to look at.

ANY advice is welcomed (including tips on how to approach realtors/landlords and language in leases). Bought a book called "The Ultimate FFL Resource Guide" and it had 0 information on finding an office.

PSA ICAR Receiver Sets Now Available

This just came available for sale in the last couple hours. The rumor was that all new ICAR receiver sets would require a proprietary larger bolt carrier, but the listings for PSA's ICAR receiver sets seem to indicate that it will just utilize standard AR-15 bolt carrier (with standard Type II Grendel bolt). This almost feels like wildcat territory building with this receiver set. Anyone else along for the ride?

Gen 3 Night Vision White Phosphor vs Standard Issue

Here's a snippet from a recent video I made showing two different PVS-14's in action during a Milsim West event. The first night vision footage is from a top of the line PVS-14 L3Harris White Phospor. The second footage is from my friend's LE-issued Gen 3 PVS-14. I was shocked at the difference in quality. I don't know how he could even see. I tried to post the entire video here on Reddit but it was literally impossible with Reddit's file size restrictions, so I could only upload 40% of the full video. If you want, you can watch the full video here: https://youtu.be/bK-bPDHjCWk

I Waited 6 Months To Make This Milsim West Video - Did I Get It Right?

MSW Black Sea Storm was a tough event that ended with one of our teammates at Urgent Care getting a tetanus shot (leg lacerated after getting caught in razor wire walking in the rain under night vision). Our footage and the event itself came out way different than what was planned, so I initially didn't know how to make this video. I would love to get some feedback on my video and its take on the "sport" of milsim. As a note, I tried to post the entire video here on Reddit but it was literally impossible with Reddit's file size restrictions, so I could only upload 40% of the full video. If you want, you can watch the full video here: https://youtu.be/bK-bPDHjCWk
