Guessing these reeds need replaced. For sure its time to replace the gaskets judging by the residue.

Not running
Its a 95 25hp 2stroke, would run on muffs but not with a load. Ive rebuilt the carb and changed spark plugs, now no matter where I adjust the air fuel screw it wont stay running for more then 1 or 2 seconds. It's holding prime on the fuel system.

Dumb question, what other purpose does this pin have besides keeping the larger grip panels in place?
New to me gen 4 19, usually a m&p guy but the price was to good to pass up.

Help me understand my 1995 mercury 2 stroke.
I bought my first boat earlier this week, when I bought it I saw it run on a water muff for maybe a minute and it sounded great. I get to my first outing and it wont stay running, then magically stays running long enough to make it back to the ramp, i replaced the primer bulb and line thinking theres a leak somewhere, tried it again with muff and sounds great, but same damn thing on the boat ramp again. Is it the carb some how? Im using fresh 91 in a tank that looked spotless when I checked it.

Help deciding what i need.
Im trying to look for my first boat, all I know i want is aluminum and a stick steer motor. Theres lots of decent looking boats in the 14' by 36" size in my area but is that enough for 2 to 3 people? Im on the bigger side almost 300 pounds. Will 36" be stable enough to bass fish off of it?
