When I was growing up Green Gage plum jam was an option. Now I’m older it not available in shops.
WHY? It’s my favourite! I can only buy it online from Amazon. I do not understand. Anyone have any inside information on this?

I am so mad I could scream.
We have a diabetes clinic in my city but they didn’t have anyone to answer a simple question without me attending another information session. I took one a few years ago and they said if you have any questions don’t hesitate to give us a call so now I have questions no one can answer me! It feels so inefficient and wasteful to attend another meeting when I don’t need to be there taking space from someone else.
So I come to the helpful group who will surely know.
All I want to know is, I started wearing a glucose monitor just to check my blood sugar throughout the day so I wasn’t pricking my finger all the time. What I’m finding is it’s pretty even in the safe range but when I eat it quickly spikes up and spikes down quite quickly - is this good or should it spike up and down slowly? Also, at night my blood sugar dips quite low so should I be checking with doctor to adjust medication?

I thought I’d ask here as we have some very knowledgeable women here.
I’m hearing about increasing protein and it’s important so I’ve been drinking protein shakes and substituting regular chocolate bars for protein bars, in addition to eating a healthy amount of meat and fish at meals. But when I hear we are supposed to get 1.5 grams of protein per kilogram of weight I don’t know how to increase my intake that much! I suppose I could eat 2 protein bars and have 2 shakes but do we really need THAT much protein as seniors? I’m a sedentary senior who goes to the gym 4 times a week, gardens and cleans the house. I’m not active like I’m canoeing and hiking all the time.

Crappy app for sure, the android version is basically unusable but the Apple one is better, not great, but better.
My issue was when watching House of the Dragon on Sunday night, it was never available. The American Sign Language one was available so I’d watch that but the regular one without the lady distracting me at the bottom right of the screen was nowhere to be found. Why wouldn’t both versions be available Sunday night? Series is over now but just curious.

No major issues, I have a sore right knee and hip. I recently started going to a fitness studio that offers various classes and I’m a bit confused about what I should be doing. There are classes every single day I could go to and enjoy but not sure if I should be going that much?
I’ve been doing upper body hand weights using lighter weights. I’m not sure if I’m supposed to be feeling pain the next day, if I’m not am I wasting my time?
The lower body classes are more challenging and I usually feel it the next day. I’ve been doing these 3 days a week and sometimes I’ll do yoga type stretching classes too. They offer cardio classes too but I find them too much, I’m too tired to keep up the intensity and it hurts my hip and knee. I have a walking treadmill i plan to use over the winter and might feel more energetic next year.
This facility doesn’t have a pool but was thinking aqua fitness might be good too.
My intention is to maintain my health and strength, I don’t want to get into body building or anything.

I did a search and couldn’t find anything but I’m having to tackle cleaning a room with hardwood floors that some cats were in with no litter box. I’ve vacuumed the hardened poop but there are bits stuck to the floor and not sure of the best, most efficient way to clean this floor while protecting the finish. I was thinking warm soapy water but thought I’d better ask first.

I live in a modest late 60’s bungalow we are all probably familiar with. It’s a 3 bedroom, one is very small suitable as a nursery or small child’s room so I made that an office which worked well as I was home based and put all my work stuff in there. There is a basement but it’s unfinished, I never had the money to do that.
Now I’m retired I’m finding the house isn’t big enough!
I want an area or share space for exercise equipment.
I want to create a room for all my clothes I’ll probably never wear but currently they are stuffed in all 3 bedroom closets.
I’ve purged a lot of clothes already (colours that don’t suit me anymore, duplicates and things that don’t fit) but I still have far too many. How do you get rid of clothes you like and still fit in? And tbh I wear very casual clothing now, the excess I have is more dressier. I just can’t let go of this stuff I’ll probably never wear.

The home office isn’t really required now so I suppose I could get rid of all that furniture.
I don’t use my dining room furniture but hesitant to get rid of that as it cost a lot and people can’t give that stuff away.
Yet I’m thinking about moving to a bigger place which doesn’t make sense. Moving seems arduous at the same time. I’m so confused.

I painted my spare room the other day and noticed the previous painter got their colour on the ceiling. It would be easier to paint their colour white like the ceiling but I have no clue what shade was used and tbh I really don’t want to have to repaint the entire white ceiling. Would it work if I did a 1/2 inch strip on the white ceiling using my wall paint colour to hide the old colour?

On Average? I provided banking info online months ago and received my tax refund direct deposit but this new supplement I is being sent by cheque in the mail so I’m a bit confused.

I was just thinking the other day about my grandmother and her mint green walls in her house. I was about 16 and the walls had been the same colour all my life and I asked her why she didn’t repaint or something. My parents and aunt repainted and I realized Nan never had. She was shocked and said she liked the colour and didn’t see any need to repaint. She’d lived in that house since the late 40’s or early 50’s after WW2 and I believe it was a popular, trendy colour then.
I’ve lived in my house for 19 years and have had the same wall colours in most of my house the entire time and in the house prior to that 3 years. So 22 years with the same wall colour and I finally understand how my Nan felt about repainting something she still liked. I’m sure the people who buy my house will find it old fashioned and will want to repaint 😊.

I am aware of trends but I still like what I have better than what they offer. Is that weird? I guess I became “stuck” in my early 40’s and didn’t even realize it. It’s just as well because I’d find it daunting to repaint an entire house again at my age.

I needed some work done at my house and called a company for a quote which I agreed to and part of the work was done. I paid for what was done and was told the employee would come back to finish up. He did not come back. Another employee came and refused to finish up at the quoted price, he requoted about twice as much as the first employee who had left the company for another job. This is unethical but is it legal in Ontario? I would have thought they had to honour the first quote.
