a good place to start?

really want to get into detecting and thinking about getting this as my first detector. i’ll mainly be doing beaches as i live on the coast but would eventually like to get permission and try some other places. is this a good starter bundle for the price?

will these checks ever be done? and what happens after?

i was given an offer on 10/12/25 for the role of probation services officer and pre employment checks started on the 17/12/25. i’ve received my DBS check back and done a health questionnaire. is there anything else i’ll need to do and how much longer could i be waiting. i’ve tried contacting the moj and the company who do the vetting checks but all they say is they can’t give any update. and if and when these checks are completed could i have to wait to start? it’s all very stressful and is causing problems with my current job

"Trialist" in Pre-Season Lineups

Fully in favour of the sainted tradition of listing an uncontracted player as "trialist" in friendly matches, but for some reason it does seem a bit discordant for a Championship club to be doing it. Feels like the preserve of much more lower league outfits.
