Testing on $2/day

I don't have a big budget to blow on testing meta ads but I do have a large social media following which I had hoped would help to sell a course I have created related to men's sexual health.

Knowing very little about FB ads, I created an ad which is getting loads of traffic, but no conversions.

I was considering putting together an offer that would unlock an 80% discount because I have a digital product and would rather have the volume than try and find a way for people to spend $49.99.

Is this possible via using the FB form and then sending on the discount code, or is there another way to do this? Currently I'm running ads at $2/day with a cost of .04p/visit.

Disconnected on Feeld

I’m 65, living in London and been off and on Feeld for several years. Mostly I notice that it doesn’t take much for a man to disconnect from me and appears to be because I don’t respond immediately to a message.

I turn off my notifications on the app because otherwise I find them too distracting so I may take a day to respond which I don’t think is a major deal.

I find it almost impossible to meet a man my own age. At the moment I am meeting someone on a casual basis just over a decade younger than me which seems to be the norm.

I enjoyed Feeld when it first started but tbh it now feels like tinder. There are very few people who really are experienced in alt lifestyles and most seem to be newbies more curious than anything.

Does anyone remember nerve.com?

I started OLD in the early 2000s, which I’ll always look back on as the golden years. Mainly, due to dial-up speeds, I wasn’t able to see anyone’s picture and that meant that I was only reading profiles and meeting people that way. I met so many great men, several of whom I’m still friendly with today.

Because everyone hadn’t yet got on the web the site basically filtered out people who weren’t professionals and highly literate due to the flavour of the sites content. I really loved nerve as it introduced me to people I would never otherwise have met and introduced me to OLD, which I’ve continued using on and off over the years.

I suppose I have a very different attitude towards OLD than many people as although I’ve met men with whom I’ve had long-term relationships, for the most part I don’t go into it with that objective. I see it as a way of meeting new people and for fun. Mainly I use Feeld because I’m not monogamous but most of the people on it are younger than I am.

Unintentionally, I do tend to date younger men because I struggle to find anyone my own age whom looks after themselves and is not completely self obsessed. Sadly, my last serious relationship was with a guy my own age but he died.

I do spend months away during the winter which makes it difficult to find a longer-term Partner who has the same degree of flexibility that I do. I think the key to OLD is to know what you really want, resist the urge to fall back on old relationship styles that may no longer suit you and to give yourself permission to have a good time. You never know what may happen if you do.

Any ideas for monetising messages

I have close to 1k unread messages on TikTok where I have 160k subscribers and honestly I’d love to know if there’s a way to automate a response or figure out how to respond to them in a way that doesn’t create more work for me.

I have a few freebies offer.

Recently I took the decision to get some support after reaching nearly 200 episodes of my weekly podcast, but not seeing the downloads and views I thought I should be getting. I hired a small team, including u/yash_bhati69 whom I found via this group, who has in a very short time made a big difference to my views and downloads.

  • In short, we've adopted the formula that the big podcasters use - Edit the YouTube version of the podcast with a strong opening sequence, followed by my ident, before launching into the full show. My most recent show had nearly 2k views on YouTube after a week which is my best result yet.
  • Produce a strong thumbnail with an attention grabbing headline
  • Do an A/B Title Test with various compelling titles
  • Ignore the clips on Riverside and create 3-4 attention grabbing clips that lead to the full episode and schedule them across social both on the day of the podcast release and every day thereafter.
  • The clips alone are also performing very well and I've had comments from people I know telling me how good they are.

I already had a large audience across my social media channels with short form videos but wanted to increase the views and awareness for the podcasts, and making these changes seems to be working.
